Abstract

This research aims to explore the prospects and challenges of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in family law dispute resolution. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with literature study and normative juridical analysis, as well as interviews with legal practitioners and academics. The results show that AI has great potential in improving legal efficiency and accessibility by accelerating the mediation process and providing initial legal consultation for the community. However, the research also identified several key challenges, including AI's limitations in understanding the emotional and psychological aspects of family disputes, the risk of algorithm bias, and the legal validity of the resulting decisions. The implications of this research confirm that AI can be a useful support tool in the legal process, but it cannot completely replace the role of humans. Therefore, strict regulations as well as human involvement in the verification process and final decision-making are needed to ensure that justice is maintained.

Abstract

PT Bluebird Tbk, a leading Indonesian road transportation company, plans to acquire 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025, which will require an investment of IDR 1.8 trillion. Currently, the company's capital structure consists of 25.24% debt and 74.76% equity, a proportion that differs significantly from the Indonesian road transportation industry average of 51.63% debt and 48.37% equity. This difference suggests that PT Bluebird Tbk may not yet have reached an optimal capital structure. Achieving an optimal mix between debt and equity is important for minimising the company's cost of capital and maximising its overall value. The planned expansion provides an opportunity for PT Bluebird Tbk to evaluate and potentially restructure its capital structure. This study utilised the Cost of Capital approach to identify the optimal capital structure, with the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) formula to analyse various debt and equity scenarios. The Damodaran Synthetic Rating is utilised to estimate the cost of debt, while the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) is applied to calculate the cost of equity. The results indicate that the optimal capital structure for PT Bluebird Tbk consists of 32% debt and 68% equity. Therefore, the most favourable financing strategy for the expansion involves raising IDR 742,475 million through debt and IDR 438,711 million through equity to achieve this optimal structure.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity intends to enhance the comprehension and foster teachers’ creativity and competence. Teachers require comprehensive support in English instruction, utilizing textbooks that offer contextual learning to address diverse needs and learning styles. The Emancipated Curriculum grants teachers with greater freedom in designing and executing learning processes that cater to student needs, highlighting a flexible and student-centered methodology. The PkM team organized an activity to promote Riau Malay culture via social media. This activity employed a methodical approach consisting of several stages: first, the introduction and utilization of integrated textbooks on Riau Malay culture; second, the enhancement of English language skills for the promotion of Riau Malay culture; and third, the evaluation process. The research findings indicate a notable enhancement in teachers' English language proficiency, achieving scores of 4 or 5 (High), particularly in the aspect of writing and speaking, which are interwoven with local cultural knowledge. This demonstrates a significant accomplishment of a primary objective, specifically the enhancement of teacher competence. Google Classroom has demonstrated efficacy as a platform for collaboration and the dissemination of Malay cultural materials in English. This research suggests the development of more proficient teachers capable of enhancing regional cultural diversity for a broader audience via digital technology, while also boosting students’ motivation through pertinent and engaging material

Reading material development becomes one of the challenges in EFL reading class. Most of educators choose to adopt the existing learning materials due to the capacity and time constraints in the material development. This study aims to develop critical literacy-based instructional reading materials used to teach EFL reading classes. This study adopted the research design proposed by Plomp and Nieveen (2010); preliminary phase, prototyping phase, and evaluation phase. There are two types of data in this study; quantitative and qualitative data. Furthermore, the quantitative data were obtained from a questionnaire and reading test. Meanwhile, the qualitative data were collected from interviews and class observation. The study was conducted in English Language Education study programs in three universities in Yogyakarta and Pekanbaru. The findings of the study show that the developed instructional materials met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results of the validation process indicate that the instructional reading materials were categorized into appropriate (3.3) to be used for teaching reading. The practicality of the product indicates that the developed product is very appropriate (85%) to enhance students’ critical awareness on particular social issues. Also, the developed product has interesting and diverse learning activities (60%) which is appropriate for students of the English Language Education Study Program. After conducting the main field testing, it was seen that the Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05. Therefore, the developed product is effective to improve the students’ critical literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of students’ understanding of the principle of the rule of law in Indonesia among 47 first semester students of the Law Program at Universitas Panca Bhakti. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collected through a closed ended questionnaire comprising three main indicators: supremacy of law, equality before the law, and fair law enforcement. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to determine the students’ level of understanding. The results revealed that 30 students (63.83%) demonstrated a high level of understanding of the rule of law, 14 students (29.79%) were in the moderate category, and 3 students (6.38%) were in the low category. These findings confirm that the majority of students have a solid grasp of the fundamental concepts and values of the rule of law, although a small portion still requires improvement through more contextual and applied learning approaches. This study is expected to serve as a reference for law programs in strengthening learning strategies based on constitutional understanding and enhancing legal awareness from the early stages of legal education.
