Abstract

Constructivism-based learning module research aims to analyze the effect of using the module on the creative thinking of junior high school students regarding the interaction of living things and their environment. This quasi-experimental study used the Pretest Posttest Control Group design with the research subjects being grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kampar. At the beginning of the implementation, students were given creative thinking pretest questions, then students studied constructivism-based learning modules and were given posttest questions. The parameters of creative thinking are 4 indicators, each indicator has 5 questions. Hypothesis analysis using t-test. The results showed that the control class has an average pretest of 61.75 (quite creative). Meanwhile, in the experimental classhas an average posttest of 81.25 (creative). The results of hypothesis testing show tcount > ttable with a value of 3.891 > 2.010. In conclusion, the use of constructivism-based learning modules has an effect on increasing students' creative thinking regarding the interaction of living things and their environment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an enrichment book for Riparian plant species diversity in Kampar Regency. This research was carried out with an ADDIE development model consisting of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation stages. limited to the Development stage, namely the Validity Test due to time constraints. The type of data used is quantitative and qualitative data, the data sources are primary data and secondary data. The parameter in this study is the validity which is measured by using a Validation Questionnaire. Subject Experts who are competent in their fields. The results of the Material Expert Validation of the content feasibility component and the presentation of the material obtained an average score of 5 with a very good category. Media Experts for the Language component and Graphic Component obtained an average score of 5 in the very good category, the Biology teacher for the presentation of material/content, the language component, and the graphic component received an average score of 5 in the very good category. The conclusion of the book on Enrichment of Riparian Plant Species in Kampar Regency is the Valid and Eligible Category for use in the next stage.

Abstract

Process of science learning stresses on giving students direct experience to develop their competence. Therefore, teachers are required to be creative and innovative to improve students’ critical thinking. Accordingly, there is a need for a research on “The science learning based on guided inquiry integration with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) toward critical thinking skill”. This research aim to figure out of influence of the science learning based on guided inquiry integration with NHT. This research is a quasi-experimental study, with design "non-equivalent group control design". This research was conducted at September-December 2018 with samples of the experimental class (n = 40) and the control class (n = 40) at class VIII SMP N 21 Pekanbaru. The research instrument consisted of questions to test students' critical thinking skills. This shows the research instrument at a good and quality stage. The results of this study note that there are significant differences in the average value of the Post test students' critical thinking skills between the experimental class amounted to 75.00 with the control class 67.00 after the intervention (P <0.05). So that the use of Integration of guided inquiry with NHT in the learning process can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The problem that is often found in the field is that poorly trained students thinking critically because learning is still teacher-centered. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using inquiry-based handouts on students critical thinking abilities. The design of this study was experimental design with pretest and posttest group control design methods. It was by looking at the students ability to answer the pretest and posttest question sheets that contain critical thinking indicators such as analyzing, synthesizing, connecting, concluding, evaluating, and creating. The results of this study show that the students critical thinking skills for the group given the handout showed that they met good criteria, that is the average score above 75. Meanwhile, students critical thinking skills in the class or group of students who were not given handouts were still not more than 50. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the handouts used can help students in training critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is a framework established and implemented since the 2022/2023 academic year through the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 56/M/2022 concerning Guidelines for Curriculum Implementation. Implementing the Independent Curriculum significantly affects various aspects, especially selecting appropriate learning media. Based on the results of interviews and findings from field observations, many teachers have not made maximum use of existing technology in the learning process. Creative teachers need to develop interesting learning media for students because the independent curriculum is closely related to innovation. This community service activity aims to effectively train teachers at SMPN 1 Mempura, Siak Regency, to implement media-based learning according to the Independent Curriculum. The methods used in this service include socialization and guidance in designing and utilizing iSpring Suite media. The process consists of five stages: analysis, preparation, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The participants included 15 teachers at SMPN 1 Mempura, Siak Regency. The output of this activity was assessed through improvements in pretest and posttest results, as well as satisfaction surveys. The findings showed that 1) participants' knowledge increased by 39%, with an average pretest score of 61 and an average posttest score of 85, and 2) the results of the satisfaction survey showed that 93% of participants gave a positive response by categorizing their responses as very good.

Abstract

A change in corporate income tax rates in 2008 were effected from January 1, 2009 will lead to an indication of earnings management by the company to obtain tax savings. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze whether the company's conduct earn-ings management in response to changes in corporate income tax rates. In addition, this study also analyze factors that affecting earnings management by companies. Variable’s research that used in this study are discretionary accrual (DA), net of deferred tax liabilities (NDTL), debt level (DEBT), firm size (SIZE), and managerial ownership (MGTOWN). The research design is quan-titative. The object of research is a manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the study period of one year before and two years after the change of income tax rate that is year 2008-2010. Source data obtained from financial state-ments published by the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the Indonesian Capital Market Directory. Techniques of data analysis was performed with two sample t-test and multiple linear regression analysis. The test results showed that the company does not un-dertake earnings management in response to changes income tax rate for obtain the tax savings. The test results also show that earnings management is done by the company is affected by NDTL. NDTL significant positive impact to earnings management while DEBT, SIZE, and MGTOWN no significant effect to earnings management.

Abstract

Quality nursing care is highly dependent on the competence of nurses in providing care in accordance with professional standards. Many nurses still face challenges in improving their skills and knowledge along with the development of science and technology in the health sector. Training is one of the effective methods to improve competence and quality of nursing care. Objective: This study aims to analyze the positive impact of training in improving nurses' competence in providing quality nursing care. Methods: This study used a review of national and international literature published between 2020-2024 and freely available. A systematic search using Google Scholar, PubMed, and SciSpace databases, using the keywords: Competency, Quality of nursing care, Training, with the PCC approach. The article selection process used PRISMA which was then subjected to critical appraisal. The process of searching and screening journal articles began by identifying 5,940 articles from the three main databases. After duplication elimination, 5,040 articles remained. Screening was conducted, removing 845 articles that did not meet the criteria, leaving 55 articles. Next, selection based on inclusion and exclusion criteria eliminated 44 articles, leaving only 11 articles eligible for further review and review. Results: The results showed that there was a significant improvement in the aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitudes of nurses after attending the training. Conclusion: training has a significant positive impact in improving nurses' competence and the quality of nursing care.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the Life Skills of Local Wisdom in Independent Management of organic vegetable seed houses and increase the participation of participants towards self-sufficiency in food. This P2M method is the Integrated Real Work Lecture Activity (KUKERTA) of the University of Riau for the period I and III of 2022. This activity was carried out in Sidomulyo Timur Village, Marpoyan Damai District in March - October 2022. The target community is the cadre of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) . Monitoring the activities of implementing the participants' life skills includes: 1) Proposing problems and solutions, 2). Implementation activities, 3) Demonstration of activities, 4) Application of activity results, 5) Integration of crop yields and benefits and constraints. The results of monitoring activities show the success of these five activity indicators which are supported by the existence of local wisdom such as the culture of mutual cooperation, so that life skills in managing seed houses can increase and the participation of the Beringin Indah community in the village of Sidomulo Timur in maximizing the use of the yard by planting vegetables using fertilizers. organic, but the new harvest is sufficient for the local community in RW 06 covering only 12 RT. In conclusion, this community service activity is very appropriate, appropriate/relevant, systematic, coherent and fakual to improve people's life skills.

Abstract

Climate change has a major impact on human health, food security, and economic development, so it is necessary to improve the ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change and a series of activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as a form of mitigation of the impacts of climate change. The climate change control effort launched by the government is to encourage multi-stakeholder cooperation to strengthen climate change adaptation and mitigation capacity at the community-based site level through the implementation of the Climate Village Program (ProKlim). This writing aims to determine the application of environmental management education in potential organic plant cultivation activities in East Sidomulyo Village Especially Integrated Women Group (KWT) in Sidomulyo Timur. The method used in this service is a participatory method, which involves the community as a subject in development. The provision of seed houses to help the community and integrated women's groups in East Sidomulyo Village in organic plant cultivation activities provides many benefits from various economic, health, socio-cultural aspects of the community, and environmental sustainability.
