Abstract

Tempe is an inherent food source for Indonesians, with a large number of tempe consumers in the local community. This community service program aims to improve students' understanding and skills in processing cempedak seeds into tempe, including drying methods that allow long-term storage. This activity was carried out from July to November 2024. This activity was carried out in several stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the completion stage. The program on the utilization of cempedak seeds in tempeh production shows promising potential as a food innovation based on local resources. The success rate of this program is not only measured from the production aspect, but also from the transfer of knowledge to students who act as agents of change in alternative food development. Some of the advantages of this activity program are that it provides an alternative utilization of cempedak seed waste into products with nutritional value. In addition, the production cost is relatively affordable compared to the use of soybean. The disadvantage of this program is that the availability of raw materials depends on the cempedak harvest season.

Abstract

Surgical patients often experience psychological distress that can hinder their recovery. Mind-body interventions (MBIs) delivered by nurses, such as guided imagery and mindfulness exercises, may improve psychological well-being and surgical recovery. This meta-analysis examined the effectiveness of nurse-delivered MBIs on adult surgical patients. A systematic search of PubMed, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Library databases was conducted from January 2013 to November 2024. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) examining the effects of nurse-delivered MBIs on adult surgical patients were included. Primary outcomes were anxiety, depression, and pain. Secondary outcomes included length of hospital stay, postoperative complications, and medication usage. Random-effects models were used to calculate pooled effect sizes (Hedges' g). Six RCTs met the inclusion criteria, comprising 785 participants. Meta-analysis revealed that nurse-delivered MBIs significantly reduced anxiety (g = -4.09, 95% CI [-6.25, -1.93], p = 0.0002) and depression (g = -3.40, 95% CI [-4.96, -1.85], p < 0.00001) compared to standard care. Significant reductions in postoperative pain (g = -1.77, 95% CI [-2.10, -1.44], p < 0.00001) were also observed. No significant differences were found for length of hospital stay or postoperative complications. In conclusion, nurse-delivered MBIs effectively improve psychological well-being and reduce postoperative pain in adult surgical patients, supporting their integration into routine surgical care.

Abstract

The position of the guardian in the marriage contract is a very important aspect in determining the validity of a marriage contract between a male and female couple. What is meant by guardian in marriage is someone who acts on behalf of the bride in a marriage contract. Indeed, there is not a single verse in the Koran that clearly (explicitly) explains the existence of a guardian in a marriage contract. To realize this goal, there are the pillars of marriage, namely the groom, the bride, the guardian, two witnesses and the consent qobul. There is a very striking difference among the scholars of the four two pillars of marriage, namely: guardian and two witnesses. Some of the four school of thought scholars include it as a pillar and some do not include it as a pillar; some say it is a valid requirement and there are also those who say it is only a complement. Departing from this background, there is a question, what is the position of guardians and witnesses in marriage according to the four schools of thought? Answering this question, the number of ulama argued that guardians and witnesses are one of the pillars of marriage and are a benchmark for the validity of a marriage. Hanafiyyah ulama said that guardians are only complements. The Malikiyyah ulama place witnesses under Sunnah law, but require the presence of a guardian when having intimate relations. Then the age limit for marriage in Islam was analyzed by sectarian scholars. To find out what the age limit for marriage is in Islam, it was then analyzed by Islamic school scholars. Islam itself does not limit the ideal age for marriage. However, in general, what is commonly known is that they are baliq, have good sense, are able to distinguish between good and bad so that they can give consent to marriage, when the time has come for someone to get married (buluq an-nikah), with the word "rusyd". The fuqaha have different opinions regarding the age limit for marriage, where the Shafi'i and Hanbali schools argue that the ideal age for marriage is 15 years, while Abu Hanifa believes that the age of maturity comes at 19 years for women and 17 years for men, others Likewise, Imam Malik believes that the ideal age of maturity is 18 years for both men and women.

Abstract

Global pop culture has become a dominant force shaping the values and identities of Generation Z, a cohort raised in the digital age. This generation faces the challenge of integrating global cultural influences with local values. This study aims to analyze the impact of global pop culture on the social values and individual identities of Generation Z through philosophical, idealistic, and empirical lenses. Using a descriptive-narrative method based on secondary data, the article offers strategic solutions, including media literacy education, local culture reinforcement, and global-local collaboration. The findings reveal that global pop culture plays a dual role: enriching perspectives while posing a threat to local values. Multi-stakeholder collaboration is essential to managing these influences wisely.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of dance movement art learning on the development of creativity, motor skills, and social-emotional wellbeing in preschool children (ages 4-6). The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a subject group of 28 children from TK Harapan Bunda, Jakarta. Data was collected through participatory observation, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of the learning process over 6 months. The findings indicate that the implementation of dance movement art learning with a thematic approach and free movement exploration can: (1) enhance children's expressive ability and creativity in creating movement variations, (2) significantly develop both gross and fine motor skills, (3) improve teamwork skills and social spatial awareness, and (4) help children express emotions constructively. This research recommends the importance of integrating dance movement art into the early childhood education curriculum with an approach that emphasizes freedom of expression and creative exploration.
