Abstract

Utilization of Mendeley Application as Reference Management in Writing Scientific Articles Abstract The purpose of community service partnership is to provide knowledge and experience in utilizing the Mendeley application as a reference management in writing scientific articles. The method used in this service process is the demonstration method. The problems that occur are that many face difficulties in understanding and mastering Mendeley features, which can be time-consuming and frustrating. Sometimes, there are synchronization problems between various Mendeley platforms (such as desktop, web, and mobile), which can cause loss of references or annotations that have been made. Reference data imported into Mendeley has varying quality depending on the source, and students need to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the references they use. The solution is to provide direct guidance to students by lecturers or tutors on the use of the application and effective reference management in the context of research and scientific writing. Provide a clear and easy-to-understand Mendeley usage guide for students, which includes steps for using the application. The conclusion is that it significantly improves students' skills in managing references and citations. Students become more competent in using this tool, which helps them in compiling better scientific articles. Mendeley has been shown to improve the efficiency of the scientific article writing process by making it easier to manage references and create bibliographies. It also reduces errors in citations and duplication of references, increasing the accuracy and credibility of students' scientific work. So that in the implementation of the activity from 100 people who participated in the activity, 85% really understood the use of the Mendeley application, while the remaining 15% did not really understand its use, because those who did not understand had limitations, namely not having a laptop. Based on these results, the activities carried out can be said to be in accordance with expectations in community partnership service.

Abstract

Introduction: Panoramic radiography is an essential tool in dentistry, offering a wide field of view for diagnosis and treatment planning. However, it is associated with radiation exposure, necessitating the implementation of optimal radiation protection practices. This study aimed to evaluate radiation protection practices and patient dose reduction strategies employed in panoramic imaging facilities in Makassar, Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted involving panoramic imaging facilities in Makassar. Data were collected through a combination of questionnaires, direct observations, and dosimetric measurements using thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs). The questionnaires assessed radiation protection practices, equipment specifications, and patient dose optimization strategies. Direct observations evaluated adherence to radiation protection protocols, while TLDs measured patient doses. Results: The study revealed variability in radiation protection practices and patient dose levels across different facilities. Some facilities demonstrated suboptimal adherence to radiation protection guidelines, including inadequate shielding and lack of proper collimation. Patient doses varied significantly, with some exceeding recommended levels. The study identified several factors associated with higher patient doses, including outdated equipment, lack of regular quality assurance programs, and limited awareness of dose optimization strategies. Conclusion: The findings highlight the need for improved radiation protection practices and patient dose optimization in panoramic imaging in Makassar. Implementing comprehensive quality assurance programs, regular equipment maintenance, and continuing education for dental professionals can contribute to minimizing radiation risks associated with panoramic radiography.

Abstract

This study evaluated the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavior control by using visit intention as a moderating variable and trust as a mediating variable. This study used quantitative research. The population in this study were Muslim tourists who visited tourist attractions in Tana Toraja district. Sampling used a purposive sampling with certain criteria. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire method. Meanwhile, data analysis in this study used SEM PLS. The results showed that a comprehensive trust mediation was found in the perception relationship between behavioral control and visit intention for Muslim-friendly tourism behavior, while in the attitude relationship, subjective norms toward visit intention Muslim-friendly  tourism were found to be partial mediation. In other words, the model proposed to form a fundamental change in the visiting intention pattern of Muslim-friendly tourism for tourists was not running optimally. However, this study still finds it important that trust is able to mediate the relationship between perceptions of behavior control and visit intention in Muslim-friendly tourism. This research had two contributions, namely empirical evidence and policy. The results of this study were additional literature related to evidence of the development of the Muslim-friendly tourism trust on visit intention model. In addition, the results of this study helped the tourism agency achieve  sustainable development

Abstract

The enforcement of women's rights concerning the restriction of polygamy during the iddah period following divorce poses a significant challenge in Islamic family law, particularly among minority Muslim communities such as Tana Toraja. This issue reflects a broader tension between the principles of Islamic law and the influence of local cultural practices. Despite existing legal frameworks aimed at safeguarding women's rights, there remains a critical research gap in understanding how these frameworks operate in culturally distinct minority contexts. This study employs a comprehensive legal methodology, combining qualitative interviews with stakeholders from the local Religious Affairs Office, including religious leaders and legal practitioners, alongside document analysis of legal rulings, policies, and relevant literature. The findings reveal that local cultural norms often conflict with Islamic legal principles, exacerbated by limited legal awareness within the community and insufficient institutional enforcement mechanisms. These impediments hinder the effective application of Islamic family law and the protection of women's rights. To address these challenges, this study proposes two key strategies: (1) enhancing legal education programs tailored to the unique cultural contexts of minority Muslim communities and (2) strengthening oversight and enforcement mechanisms through collaboration among local authorities, religious leaders, and community organizations. By bridging the gap between Islamic legal principles and local cultural practices, these recommendations aim to promote a more inclusive and effective enforcement of women's rights within minority Muslim settings.
