Abstract

Taekwondo emphasizes kicking techniques, including elgol dollyo chagi, a spinning head kick requiring flexibility, strength, speed, coordination, and precision for optimal effectiveness. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of alternate leg bounding training on the elgol dollyo chagi performance of taekwondo athletes. It employs experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of 30 taekwondo athletes selected through total sampling, meaning the entire population was used as the sample. The research instrument involves an elgol dollyo chagi performance test conducted over a duration of 30 seconds. Data analysis uses descriptive tests, and the analysis prerequisite tests with data normality and data homogeneity, and continued with hypothesis testing using the t-test with the spss program version 23. The results of the t-test value obtained were 15.455, with a pretest mean of 23.83 and a posttest mean value of 36.20. Based on these results, the p-value is greater than 0.05 and has an increase of 12.37%. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the speed of execution of the elgol dollyo chagi kick after following the alternate leg bounding training program. In addition, this research is also useful in terms of athlete physical development, including strength, agility, coordination, and injury prevention.

Abstract

Indonesia termasuk dalam wilayah yang sangat rawan bencana gempa bumi. Gempa-gempa tersebut telah menyebabkan ribuan korban jiwa, keruntuhan dan kerusakan ribuan infrastruktur, serta dana trilyunan rupiah untuk rehabilitasi dan rekonstruksi. Pencegahan kerusakan akibat gerakan tanah dapat dilakukanmelalui proses perencanaan struktur dan konstruksi yang baik. Salah satu jenis sistem struktur yang banyak digunakan pada bangunan rumah di Indonesia adalah sistem confined masonry. Berdasarkan pengalaman kegempaan, daktilitas struktur merupakan salah satu parameter yang sangat penting dalam menjamin keamanan struktur bangunan. Hasil penelitian ini nantinya bisa digunakan sebagai alternatif teknologi struktur perkuatan daktilitas confine masonry dalam tahap perencanaan struktur. Metodologi penelitian adalah pengujian eksperimental dan analisis numerik. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah pengujian eksperimental lateral siklik skala penuh. Aspek yang dianalisa dari hasil pengujian adalah: kekuatan, kekakuan dan daktilitas. Benda uji yang dibuat sebanyak 3 buah yaitu: model konvensional (K), model perkuatan horizontal (H), dan model perkuatan diagonal (D). Dari hasil pengujian dan analisa data diketahui bahwa kinerja aspek kekuatan, kekakuan dan daktilitas Model H lebih superior dari model lainnya.

Abstract

This study explores how critical pedagogical practices are enacted and experienced within a social studies classroom through a qualitative case study approach. Drawing on critical pedagogy, the study examines how dialogical teaching shapes students’ participation, meaning making, and emerging critical awareness over time. The classroom is treated as a bounded case, enabling close attention to pedagogical processes as they unfold in everyday instructional practice. Data were generated through classroom observations, in depth interviews with the teacher and students, focus group discussions, and students’ reflective journals collected over one academic year. An interpretative analysis was conducted to trace patterns of interaction, shifts in classroom dialogue, and participants’ evolving understandings of learning. The study does not aim for generalization but seeks to develop contextual and process oriented insights. Findings show that critical pedagogy functioned as a relational and evolving practice rather than a fixed method. Classroom dialogue gradually shifted from teacher centered exchanges toward more collective meaning making, with students becoming more willing to question assumptions, engage with multiple perspectives, and connect social studies content to broader social issues. Moments of tension and emotional discomfort emerged as integral to learning, supporting reflection and deeper engagement rather than hindering instruction. This study contributes to critical pedagogy scholarship by demonstrating how dialogical practices develop over time within a single classroom and by highlighting the value of qualitative case study methods for capturing the relational and affective dimensions of critical learning.

Abstract

Lewaja Natural Baths is a leading tourist attraction in Enrekang Regency, South Sulawesi, with significant potential for development as a natural tourism destination based on local wisdom. Situated at the foot of the mountains with natural springs, the area offers a beautiful and refreshing atmosphere. However, the current management and facilities do not optimally reflect local cultural identity, particularly traditional Duri architecture. This study aims to formulate a development strategy for the Lewaja Natural Baths tourist area using traditional Duri architecture as a key element in the area's design.The research method used was a qualitative-descriptive approach through field observations, interviews with local communities and traditional leaders, and a literature review of Duri cultural values and traditional architectural principles. The results indicate that the application of traditional Duri architectural elements, such as the roof shape of the Enrekang tongkonan houses, the use of local materials (wood and bamboo), and spatial patterns based on the socio-communal values of the Duri community, can strengthen the area's identity and enhance its tourist appeal.The area's development strategy focuses on integrating local cultural values into the design of tourist facilities, and strengthening cultural-based promotion. With this approach, it is hoped that the Lewaja Natural Baths area will not only develop physically, but also become a symbol of cultural preservation and local economic empowerment.
