Abstract

This study aimed to develop effective English reading materials to enhance the reading comprehension skills of Grade XI students at SMAN 2 Rantau Selatan. Using the ADDIE model—comprising the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—the research employed classroom observation, interviews, expert validation, and pretest-posttest evaluations. Findings from the initial analysis indicated that students struggled to understand reading texts due to the lack of contextual relevance, unattractive content, and materials that did not match their interests or proficiency levels. The newly developed materials, focused on narrative texts and enriched with visual and culturally relevant elements, underwent validation by subject matter and media experts, resulting in validity scores of 90% and 85%, respectively. Effectiveness testing revealed a substantial improvement in student performance, with the average score rising from 58 (pretest) to 84 (posttest), and 93% of students achieving mastery. These results suggest that the developed materials are both valid and effective for use in senior high school English instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of strength training using the standing bench press method on shot put ability. This study used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The total population is 110 students at SMK Negeri 5 Konawe Selatan, with 50 male students and 60 female students. Samples were drawn using purposive sampling techniques or considerations with the male sex and those who had good and correct shot put technique skills so that 30 students were found as samples in the study. The exercise was carried out using the standing bench press method for 16 exercises with the intensity used, namely 70% moderate, 80% heavy, and 60% light. The research instrument is using a shot put ability test. From the results and analysis of the research on the pretest or before the implementation of the exercise with an average of 7.21, while the posttest after the implementation of the exercise with an average of 8.79 from these results there is an increase in shot put ability. Based on the results of the paired samples test or the t-test at a significance of 0.000 > 0.05, it means that the effect of strength training using the standing bench press method on shot put ability is significant. The results of the study show that strength training using the standing bench press method can improve shot put ability with maximum results

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to understand the role of the village in preventing and reducing integrated stunting in Topore Village, Papalan District, Mamuju Regency and to find out the obstacles encountered in preventing and reducing integrated stunting in Topore Village, Papalan District, Mamuju Maya Regency. The results of this study indicate that the role of the village in preventing and reducing stunting is integrated in Topore Village, Papalan District, Mamuju Regency based on Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction and Mamuju District Regent Regulation Number 31 concerning Prevention and Reduction of Stunting integrated with carrying out convergence prevention of stunting through a work plan for the implementation of stunting prevention which includes maternal and child health intervention services; integrated nutritional counseling, provision of clean water and sanitation; social protection and early childhood services. Furthermore, related to the obstacles faced in preventing and reducing stunting in Topore village, including regarding the implementation of programs such as socialization that is not optimal regarding the different understanding of the community in responding to the problem of stunting, provision of food and vitamin supplements as part of supporting intervention activities that cannot be fulfilled properly as well as the culture and beliefs of society that considers a short child's body is often seen as a result of inheritance from their parents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk Mengetahui Patologi Birokrasi Penyelenggaraan Badan Usaha Milik Kampung di Kecamatan Bebesen Kabupaten Aceh Tengah dan menjelaskan Faktor terjadinya patologi Birokrasi dalam Badan Usaha Milik Kampung di Kecamatan Bebesen Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Adapun metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, studi pustaka dan observasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif. HasilpenelitianmenunjukanbahwaPatologi Birokrasi Penyelenggaraan Badan Usaha Milik Kampung di Kecamatan Bebesen Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Penyebab patologi dalam BUMK adalah rendahnya sumberdaya manusia dan memiliki keterbatasan dalam mengelola penggunaan anggaran yang menyebabkan terjadinya penyelahgunaan wewenang dan penyelewengan anggaran dan penggunaan pendanan BUMK kebanyakn sebagai simpan Pinjam, yang tidak dapat dikembalikan oleh masyarakat, Faktor terjadinya patologi Birokrasi dalam Badan Usaha Milik Kampung di Kecamatan Bebesen Kabupaten Aceh Tengah sumber daya manusia hambatan yang dialami oleh sumber daya manusia di kecamatan Bebesen, dalam mengelola BUMK di masing-masing Kampung. Tidak adanya pengaturan pengupahan yang diatur oleh Qanu Kampung Ataupun dalam Qanun Kampung tentang BUMK dan pengupahan terhadap struktur BUMK itu sendiri. Kesimpulan patologi BUMK di kecamatan bebesen, memiliki factor-factor yang komplek berkaitan dengan, tidak miliki kemampuan dalam mengelola dan minimnya sumberdaya manusia dalam pengelolaan BUMK dikecamatan Bebeben. Abstract

Halal restaurants are a staple for Muslims. Employee performance is an important element in increasing the number of visitors to halal restaurants. This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic work ethic on employee performance, the effect of Islamic work ethic on organizational commitment; and the effect of organizational commitment on employee performance. This study uses a type of quantitative research. The population in this study is all halal restaurant employees who have halal certification in Indonesia. Sampling using purposive sampling with certain criteria. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. While the data analysis of this study uses SEM PLS.The results of this study indicate that the Islamic work ethic variable has an influence on employee performance, Islamic work ethic has a positive effect on the dimensions of organizational commitment. In addition, the results of this study indicate that organizational commitment variables affect employee performance. This research has two contributions, namely empirical and policy aspects. The results of this study are additional literature related to empirical evidence of the influence of Islamic work ethics and organizational commitment to halal restaurants. In addition, the results of this study help halal restaurants in sustainable development.

Abstract

Misconceptions in elementary science education are a persistent challenge embedded in the cognitive architecture and neurodevelopmental trajectories of young learners. This comprehensive analysis examines the phenomenon of science misconceptions in elementary school students through the integrated lens of cognitive processing theory and brain development research. By synthesizing contemporary neuroscience findings with an established cognitive psychology framework, this article elucidates the neurobiological underpinnings of misconception formation, persistence, and potential remediation strategies. The analysis reveals that misconceptions are not simply learning errors but, rather, systematic constructs arising from the interaction of developing neural networks, limited cognitive resources, and intuitive reasoning patterns. Limited prefrontal cortex maturity, working memory constraints, and a tendency toward intuitive thinking create a developmental context in which misconceptions naturally emerge. Next, the article explores how neurodevelopmental factors (such as synaptic pruning and executive function development) influence the process of conceptual change. By testing various theoretical frameworks, including conceptual change theory and the dual-process model of cognition, in a neurodevelopmental context, this work provides educators and researchers with a deeper understanding of why misconceptions persist and how evidence-based instructional strategies aligned with brain development can facilitate more effective conceptual understanding. Implications of this study include curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment practices that respect the developmental realities of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively review the development and research trends of metacognition and executive function in elementary science education. The research employed a comprehensive literature review approach to map the evolution, key themes, and future directions in this field. Articles were retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases using the keywords “metacognition,” “executive function,” and “elementary science education,” covering the years 2015-2025. The selection and analysis followed the PRISMA Guidelines, while bibliometric mapping was conducted using VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that metacognition occupies a central position in the global research network and is strongly associated with self-regulation, motivation, and executive function. Three major clusters emerged: (1) theoretical and cognitive foundations of learning, (2) pedagogical and reflective practices in science classrooms, and (3) cross-cultural and contextual applications. The trend shows a shift from conceptual analyses to technology-enhanced and inquiry-based implementations. It can be concluded that strengthening metacognitive-executive abilities promotes students’ critical thinking, cognitive flexibility, and self-regulation, which are essential for 21st-century science education.
