Abstract

IntroductionIslamic inheritance law is widely recognized for its doctrinal clarity, yet contemporary social transformations have exposed gaps between classical rules and modern family realities. The concept of waṣiyyah wājibah (compulsory bequest) has emerged as a legal mechanism to address the exclusion of socially dependent individuals such as adopted children, orphaned grandchildren, and interfaith relatives. Despite its growing importance, comparative and integrative studies examining its application across different legal systems remain limited.ObjectivesThis study aims to analyze the concept and implementation of waṣiyyah wājibah in Indonesia and Malaysia through a comparative framework. It seeks to identify the legal, institutional, and socio-cultural factors shaping its application, and to evaluate its legitimacy and function using sociological and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah perspectives.MethodThe research adopts a qualitative, doctrinal–comparative approach based on the analysis of legal texts, statutory regulations, judicial decisions, and scholarly literature. It integrates normative legal analysis with socio-legal interpretation and purposive reasoning to examine how waṣiyyah wājibah operates within different institutional contexts.ResultsThe findings reveal that waṣiyyah wājibah functions as a flexible instrument of legal adaptation in both countries, though with distinct characteristics. Indonesia demonstrates a more expansive and jurisprudence-driven model, where courts extend the scope of compulsory bequests to address diverse social realities. Malaysia, by contrast, exhibits a more structured and decentralized approach, shaped by state enactments and procedural frameworks. In both systems, waṣiyyah wājibah remains bounded by doctrinal constraints and justified through principles of justice, welfare, and the objectives of Islamic law.ImplicationsThe study highlights the role of waṣiyyah wājibah in enhancing family welfare, reducing inheritance disputes, and promoting socially responsive legal outcomes. It also underscores the importance of institutional design and judicial reasoning in shaping the effectiveness of Islamic legal reform.Originality/NoveltyThis study offers an integrated comparative analysis that combines doctrinal, socio-legal, and maqāṣid-based perspectives. It contributes to the literature by demonstrating how Islamic inheritance law can adapt to contemporary challenges while maintaining its normative foundations.

Abstract

Transportation has a positive impact in supporting community activities and helps determine regional development through the distribution of goods and services, besides that it also has a negative impact on the environment, especially air quality in urban areas. Fish Auction Place is a place that is usually located in a port or fish landing base and in that place, there is a sale of fish and marine products either by auction or not. This study aims to observe the prediction of motor vehicle emission load by using analytical prediction studies and simple statistical data about the possible estimates of vehicle emissions produced by motorized vehicles at the Kendari City Fish Auction Place. Based on the results of the study, the volume of vehicle traffic passing at the Kendari City Fish Auction Place was 1,774 vehicles/hour, 8,517 vehicles/day, and 3,100,664 vehicles/year. The type of motorcycle vehicle is the vehicle that passes the most while the bus is the vehicle that passes the least at the research location. It is known that the largest CO emission load is produced by motorcycle vehicles, which is 3.8981 tons/year, and the smallest is produced by buses at 0.0011 tons/year. While the largest NOx emission load is generated by diesel-fueled cars, which is 0.1369 tons/year and the smallest is generated by bus vehicles, which is 0.0012 tons/year.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted to enhance high school students’ understanding and awareness of the dangers of hoax news on social media. The socialization program was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Bubon on May 9, 2026, involving 25 students as participants. The methods implemented included lectures, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and case study analysis. The results demonstrated that participants gained a better understanding of the concept, characteristics, and negative impacts of hoax news, as well as increased awareness of the importance of digital literacy in evaluating and filtering information on social media. Through this activity, participants were encouraged to become more critical and responsible in using digital platforms. Overall, the program is expected to contribute positively to efforts aimed at preventing the spread of hoax news within the school environment and the broader community. This school-based program was designed as a preventive effort in strengthening students’ digital literacy skills in order to reduce the risk of misinformation exposure.
