Abstract

ABSTRAKFungi mikoriza arbuskula (FMA) sangat berperan dalam memacu pertumbuhan hijauan tanaman pakan ternak. Hijauan tanaman pakan khususnya rumput dan leguminosa.  FMA telah banyak diteliti dan teridentifikasi berbagai jenisnya pada rizhosfer tanaman leguminosa jenis pohon. Jenis FMA belum diketahui pada tanaman hijauan pakan ternak khususnya rumput gajah yang tumbuh di Sulawesi Tenggara, oleh karena itu sangatlah penting dilakukan penelitian mengenai identifikasi FMA pada tanaman rumput gajah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula pada rizhofer rumput gajah.  Sampel tanah dan sampel akar rumput gajah diambil masing-masing sebanyak 500g.  Analisis sampel tanah untuk mengidentifikasi FMA dilakukan di pusat Penelitian Biologi LIPI Bogor.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada rizhosfer rumput gajah ditemukan 5 jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula dari 3 genus (Glomus, gigaspora dan acalauspora) yaitu Glomus sp (1 spora), gigaspora sp (57 spora), giga spora gregaria N.C. Schenck & T.H. Nicolson (48 spora), Acaulospora tuberculata Janos & Trappe (12 Spora) dan Acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe (2 spora). Jenis FMA terjadi kolonisasi pada rizhosfer rumput gajah, ditandai dengan ditemukannya struktur FMA. Struktur FMA yang ditemukan pada akar rumput gajah adalah hifa internal dan hifa eksternal.  Persentae kolonisasi FMA pada akar rumput gajah berkisar 47-88% dengan rata-rata 72,93%.Kata kunci: mikoriza, rumput gajah, pennisetum, glomus Identification of Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi in the Rhizosphere of Elephant Grass (Pennistum purpureum)ABSTRACTArbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) plays a role forage growth of animal feed crops. The type AMF is not widely known in forage animal feed, especially elephant grass that grows in Southeast Sulawesi, therefore it is very important to research the identification of AMF in elephant grass plants.  The study aims to identify the arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi in the elephant grass rhizosphere. Samples of rhizosphere soil and elephant grassroots samples were taken by as much as 500g each. Analysis of soil samples to identify AMF was conducted at LIPI Bogor Biological Research Centre. Abstract

Forage is an important factor in increasing livestock productivity, and of course, both quality and quantity are influenced by soil quality. This study aims to analyze the productivity and quality of Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench has grown on nickel mine overburdened soil using different levels of urea. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with 4 replications with a total of 20 experimental units where the treatments used were P1 = use of urea fertilizer dose of 300 kg/ha, P2 = use of urea fertilizer dose of 400 kg/ha, P3 = use of urea fertilizer dose of 500 kg/ha, P4= use of urea fertilizer dose 600 kg/ha, and P5= use of urea fertilizer dose 600 kg/ha with the evaluated parameters (a) Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench productivity includes dry matter production per hectare, leaf-to-stem ratio, and stem brix content, (b) chemical quality including dry matter (%), organic matter (%), crude protein (%), and crude fiber (%). The study's results showed that the application of urea fertilizer with different levels did not significantly affect the productivity and quality of Sorghum bicolor (L.) Abstract

ABSTRAKRumput mulato tumbuh subur pada lahan-lahan marginal, tanah yang unsur hara sangat rendah. Kemampuan rumput mulato tumbuh dengan subur pada lahan tersebut menandakan adanya unsur lain yang bersimbiosis dengannya.  Kemungkinan yang menyebabkan rumput mulato tumbuh dengan baik adalah keberadaan mikoriza yang mengkoloni akar atau yang berada pada rhizosfer. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengekspolorasi dan mengidentifikasi jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula pada rhizosfer rumput mulato.  Sampel tanah dan akar rumpu mulato diambil dilahan laboratorium lapangan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Halu Oleo. Analisis sampel tanah untuk mengekspolorasi dan mengidentifikasi jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula dilakukan di pusat  penelitian Biologi LIPI Bogor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada rhizozfer rumput mulato ditemukan 5 jenis FMA yang berasal dari 3 genus mikoriza misalnya glomus sp, gigaspora sp, dan acaulospora sp. Jenis glomus sp ditemukan sejumlah 7 spora, giga spora gregaria ditemukan sejumlah 1 spora. Sedangkan jenis gigaspora gregaria N.C. Schenck dan T.H. Nicolson ditemukan sejumlah 13 spora. Acaulospora tuberculata Janos dan Trappe diemukan sejumlah 4 spora, sedangkan acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe ditemukan sejumlah 1 spora. Pada rhizosfer rumput mulato terjadi kolonisasi mikoriza karena ditandai dengan adanya struktur FMA.  Struktur FMA yang ditemukan adalah hifa eksternal, hifa internal, vesikula dan arbuskula.  Persentase kolonisasi FMA pada akar rumput mulato yakni 49-88% atau rata-rata sekitar 72,87%.Kata Kunci: Mikoriza arbuskula, glomus, Brachiaria hybrid cv. The ability of mulato grass to thrive on the land indicates the presence of other elements that symbiosis with it.  The possibility that causes mulato grass to grow will is the presence of mycorrhizal that colonizes the roots or that resides in the rhizosphere.  The study aimed to explore and identify the type of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the rhizosphere of mulato grass.  Soils and roots samples mulato grass were taken at the field laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Science, Halu Oleo University.  Analysis of soil samples to expolore and identify the type of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi was conducted Biology research center LIPI, Bogor. The results showed that in rhizosphere mulato grass 5 types were found of AMF derived genera three of mycorrhizal such as glomus sp, gigaspora sp and acaulospora sp. The glomus sp types found 7 spores number.  Gigaspores gregaria found 1 spores number. The gigaspores gregaria N.C Schenck and T.H. Nicolson found 13 spores number. The acaulospora tuberculata Janis and Trappe found 4 spores number.  While acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe found 1 spores number. Abstract

ABSTRAK. Silase gabungan rumput-leguminosa merupakan inovasi yang dapat diaplikasikan untuk menyediakan pakan dan bisa digunakan sepanjang tahun. Kandungan protein silase campuran tersebut dapat mencapai tingkat optimal sebagai pakan konsentrat hijau (green concentrate). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas, karakter fermentasi dan kecernaan in vitro silase campuran sorgum (Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench) and gamal (Gliricidia sepium) dengan menambahkan dosis asam laktat yang berbeda. Silase dibuat dengan mencampur bahan penyusun yang terdiri dari sorgum dan daun gamal dengan perbandingan 1:1 dan penambahan asam laktat konsentrasi 20% (v/v). Penelitian terdiri atas 3 perlakuan yaitu; A0: (kontrol) tanpa penambahan asam laktat, A1: penambahan asam laktat sebanyak 2% (b/v), A2: 2,5% (b/v), dan A3: 3% (b/v) dengan 4 ulangan tiap perlakuan. Proses ensilase menggunakan cairan rumen kambing selama 21 hari. Parameter penelitian yang diamati adalah kualitas silase dan kecernaan in vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis penambahan asam laktat sebanyak 2% menghasilkan silase paling optimal dengan pH (3,94), bahan kering (26,62%), dan nilai Fleigh (100,89), namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap kandungan protein kasar, kecernaan bahan organik, kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan protein kasar. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah penggunaan asam laktat organik dengan dosis 2 hingga 3% (b/v) konsentrasi 20% (v/v) mampu meningkatkan karakteristik, kualitas fermentasi tetapi tidak mempengaruhi nilai KcBK, KcBO dan KcPK silase campuran sorgum stay green (Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench) and gamal (Gliricidia sepium).(Quality evaluation, fermentation characteristic and in vitro digestibility of stay green sorghum-Gliricidia sepium mix silage on different level of lactic acid utilization)ABSTRACT. The grass-legume combined silage is an innovation that can be applied to provide feed and can be used throughout the year. The content of the mixed silage protein can reach optimal levels as a green concentrate feed. This study aims to evaluate the quality, fermentation characteristics and digestibility of in vitro silage of a mixture of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench) and gamal (Gliricidia sepium) by adding different doses of lactic acid. Silage is made by mixing a constituent consisting of sorghum and gamal leaves in a ratio of 1: 1 and the addition of lactic acid concentration of 20% (v / v). The study consisted of 3 treatments namely; A0: (control) without the addition of lactic acid, A1: addition of 2% (w / v) lactic acid, A2: 2.5% (w / v), and A3: 3% (w / v) with 4 replications each treatment. The ensilage process used goat's rumen fluid for 21 days. The research parameters observed were silage quality and in vitro digestibility. The results showed that the addition dose of lactic acid as much as 2% produced the most optimal silage with pH (3.94), dry matter (26.62%), and Fleigh value (100.89), but had no effect on crude protein content, digestibility organic matter, digestibility of dry matter and digestibility of crude protein. The conclusion of this study is the use of organic lactic acid with a dose of 2 to 3% (w/v) concentration of 20% (v/v) can improve the characteristics, quality of fermentation but does not affect the value of KcBK, KcBO and KcPK silage stay sorghum mixture green (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) and gamal (Gliricidia sepium).
