Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah peran EDP dalam proses berpikir engineer siswa melalui LKS sebagai bahan ajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus tunggal. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Uji kredibilitas menggunakan triangulasi teknik dan member check. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan profil berpikir engineer masing-masing siswa berbeda-beda. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan siswa dapat memberikan pemecahan masalah hingga memberikan desain solusi pada sintaks EDP. Siswa memberikan pemecahan masalah terjadi dalam sintaks EDP pada ruang lingkup masalah yaitu tahap define, dan learn. Sedangkan pada tahap plan, try, test, dan decide siswa dapat menghasilkan ide yang digunakan sebagai solusi pemecahan masalah berupa desain rekayasa dengan memberikan penjelasan yang jelas bagaimana solusi tersebut dapat bekerja optimal untuk digunakan.Kata kunci: LKS, EDP, berpikir engineerAbstract. This study aims to determine how the role of EDP in the thinking process students engineers through student worksheets as teaching materials. This type of research is qualitative using a single case study method. Data were collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Test using triangulation technique and member check. The results of this study show that each students engineering thinking profile is different. The data obtained shows that students can solve problems to provide design solutions to the EDP syntax. Students provide solutions to problems that occur in the EDP syntax in the scope of the problem, namely the definition and learn stages. While at the stage of the plan, try, test, and decide students can generate ideas that are used as problem-solving solutions in the form of engineering designs by providing a clear explanation of how the solution can work optimally for use.Keywords: LKS, EDP, think engineer

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan authentic assessment berbasis web dengan program moodle dan menerapkannya dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah IPA terpadu sehingga meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. authentic assessment yang dikembangkan meliputi paper asisgment, portofolio dan written test. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan fisika kelas x berjumlah 25 mahasiswa. penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan alur studi pendahuluan, perencanaan, pengembangan, validasi. Studi lapangan meliputi analisis kurikulum, analisis mahasiswa, analisis tugas, perumusan indikator dan sarana prasana. Setelah semua perangkat dirancang maka dilakukan validasi. setelah divalidasi maka dilakukan pengunggahan perangkat beserta dengan tugas-tugas pada program e-learning. Hasil dari penelitian ini authentic assement yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan hasilbelajar siswa yang miliputi segi kognitif, psikomotor dan afektif. Ketiga unsur yang telah dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah penggambaran dari kemampuan berpikir ilmiah mahasiswa pendidikan fisika.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop environment based digital comic as learning media in integrated science lesson. In this study, there are four development steps; surveys and needs analysis, product development, expert validation and a limited field test. Surveys conducted by taking questionnaire to 25 students who have attended in integrated science course. Based on the surveys result, we develop learning media in two stages: developing comic design then uploading into e-learning program. Field test subject is Physics education study program, that attended in  integrated science course. The result of this study shows that environment based digital comic can be used in the process of learning both in the classroom or self-study, with good scores both in expert validation and limited field test. This media can be applied in online learning process. Keywords: digital comic, environtment, integrated science

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji validitas, efektivitas pembelajaran IPA, dan respon siswa terhadap LKS berbasis Engineering Design Process (EDP) pada topik pemanasan global dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu Preliminary Research (Tahap Awal), Prototyping Phase (Tahap Perancangan), dan Assessment Phase (Tahap Penilaian). Subjek dalam penelitian ini meliputi ahli media, ahli materi, dan 30 siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 1 Purwoharjo. Waktu pelaksanaan penelitian pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur validitas serta respon siswa yaitu lembar angket dan untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa menggunakan lembar tes pada penilaian ranah pengetahuan dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest. Penilaian ranah keterampilan menggunakan non tes berupa lembar desain. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji validitas, uji N-gain, dan uji korelasi. Hasil analisis validitas dinyatakan valid oleh ahli media dengan persentase 83,75% dan ahli materi sebesar 86,44% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Hasil analisis tes bahwa LKS EDP dapat dinyatakan efektif dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan skor N-Gain tertinggi 0,83. Hasil analisis respon siswa dinyatakan sangat positif dengan persentase rata-rata 85,42%.

Abstract

This study purposed to develop an E-student worksheet on environmental pollution material to improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. E-student worksheet is an electronic-based student worksheet that utilizes the internet in its application. E-student worksheets can create various kinds of content, both visual and audiovisual, to train and assist students in finding concepts through the learning process. The development research method used a 4-D model, but only three stages were carried out: defining, designing, and developing. This research was conducted on seventh-grade students at SMPIT Al Ghozali Jember. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets, learning implementation sheets, critical thinking skills tests, and student response questionnaires. The results of this study indicated that the E-student worksheet had very valid criteria with a value of 94%. The implementation of learning showed very high criteria with a value of 92%. The effectiveness of learning had effective criteria with an average N-gain value of 0.70, and student responses had a good criterion, with a value of 77.3%. It can be concluded that the E-student worksheet on environmental pollution material could improve students' critical thinking skills in science learning in junior high school

Abstract

This research investigates the factors that influence pre-service science teachers' conceptualization of STEM education. The factors involved STEM self-efficacy, STEM anxiety, science content knowledge, and mathematics content knowledge. The survey method was utilized in this research to collect a huge number of respondents at one time. The participants were 604 pre-service science teachers in Indonesia with different backgrounds (physics Education, biology education, chemistry education, Ingrate of Science education, and primary school education). The instruments were developed and share with participants using a google form to avoid the items that the participant did not fill in. The data analyzed using STEM showed that science content knowledge, STEM self-efficacy, and STEM anxiety were influencing the conceptualization of STEM education. This research suggested that to improve the quality of STEM education in the classroom. Pre-service science teachers should understand the concept of the content taught

Abstract

The learning model about Contextual Analysis of Science and Laboratory Problems (CANLABS) is a model that provides opportunities for students to choose several natural events around them that are relevant to the material which is being studied and then explore the phenomenon profoundly in the laboratory. This study aims to analyze the validity and practicality of the CANLABS learning model for science mastery for junior high school students. The trial results of the model development were carried out in the 7th grade of the former Besuki residency (Jember, Bondowoso, Situbondo, and Banyuwangi) with a total of 120 students. The sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling area. To measure the validity, use the model validity sheet carried out by experts through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Meanwhile, to measure practicality, an observation sheet on the implementation of the learning implementation plan was used by the observer. Based on the analysis, it was found that the content validation and construct validation respectively scored an average of 4.08 and 4.11 with the reliability of the model 96%. Meanwhile, the implementation of the learning implementation plan in preliminary activities, core activities, strengthening activities, closing, and classroom atmosphere with an average score of 3.39 is categorized as very good. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the CANLABS learning model meets the criteria of validity and practicality so that it is suitable in science learning for junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the Physics students' thought patterns concern-ing the greenhouse effect. Descriptive analysis was used, including the set of qualitative data. These data were then interpreted for their idea and content inductively to recognize students' thoughts and models concerning the greenhouse effect. The result confirmed three patterns of the students' thoughts concerning the greenhouse effect (patterns A, B, and C). The model covered different concepts, mechanisms, and processes of the greenhouse effect. The students' knowledge from science teacher explanations and books is not the only learning source concerning the educational environment. The issue and broadcast media frequently carry out confusing the concepts. This research is expected to provide physics teachers critical information to develop appropriate teaching methods and strategies concerning these topics.

Abstract

UKBM is a learning tool using the Semester Credit System (SKS) and is a small learning unit that is arranged sequentially by involving study time units. This research is focused on developing UKBM with the Engineering Design Process (EDP) approach in learning physics in high school. The purpose of this study was to produce a valid UKBM and determine the effectiveness of UKBM through increasing students' STEM literacy after using the EDP-based UKBM. This study uses a research and development (R&D) model with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The results of the validity of product development are declared valid by the three validators with an average percentage of 88%, so that product development can be implemented in schools. The results of the effectiveness obtained from analyzing the results of the pre-test and post-test N-gain with the acquisition of N-Gain of 76.96% so that it is in the high category. The development of UKBM with the Engineering Design Process (EDP) Approach to improve STEM literacy of high school students was declared valid and effective.

Abstract

A perspective on STEM education drives the teachers' conceptual for developing a design material in STEM approach. Lack of understanding of STEM education is becoming a challenge to implement STEM approaches in the classroom for the teacher. The purpose of this study was to describe the science teachers' perspective on STEM educational approach after following the professional development in STEM education, which was conducted including in the theoretical of STEM education and implementation in the classroom. This study used a single case method that focused on changing a teacher's attitude on STEM education. The professional development was conducted in a relationship program with the Fulbright specialist in 20 hours for training in STEM education. The result described the interview process between the researcher and the teachers that there was a shift a teachers' perspective more integrated into STEM education. They believe that STEM education can be implemented in Indonesia to address the real-world problems which students experience.
