Abstract

AbstractThis research was a developmental research. The product of this research was inthe use of an android -based snake and ladders as a learning media on the topic of globalwarming phenomenon in senior high schools. This research were developed by Borg andGall method that modified into 5 step: (1) study literature, (2) planning, (3) designing (4)validation and revision, and (5) testing media and final revision.The results showed thatthe use of an android -based snake and ladders as a learning media can be valid,practically anf effective for use. This can be seen from the validation assesment criteriagets valid with a assesment scores reached 4,552. The practically assesment showed frompercentage 93,33 % with a criteria practice indicating that the media was good for useaccording with the teacher implementation planned learning and also showed frompercentage 80,64 % with a criteria practice indicating that study activity learning washigh. The effectiveness assesment showed from improvement student learning outcomeswith the average of N-gain score was 0,73 which was in the high category.Keywords: effectiveness, practicality, android based snake and ladder, validity

Abstract

This research aimed to describe validation and effectiveness of interactivemultimedia and students’ response after the learning process was using interactivemultimedia accompanied drills on the subjects of pressure. This research includedresearch development to produce a product of media learning namely interactivemultimedia accompanied drills on the subjects of pressure in junior high schoolstudents. The development model used the Four-D (Define, Design, Develop, andDisseminate) model. The result of this research showed that assessments validator tointeractive multimedia was perfectly valid with the acquisition the percentage was88,65 %. In the developmental testing known that interactive multimedia was veryeffective used to improve students’ learning outcomes with the acquisition N-gain testwas 0,715 with was in the high category. In addition, the students’ response toward theinteractive multimedia had a positive and good response with the acquisition thepercentage of 87,95 %.Key word: interactive multimedia, drills, effectiveness, students’ response.

Abstract

Technology development effect included in education field especially physics. In learning process, technology presented as teaching materials based on computer assisted instruction. This learning materials included many media as picture, graphic, animation, text, video, and physics theory especially simple harmonic motion in one product. This article was the result of development research of physics teaching materials based on computer assisted instruction on topic simple harmonic motion. Computer assisted instruction based teaching materials in this research used tutorial type. The purpose of this research were to describe validity of CAI based teaching materials, student’s response, and student’s learning result. The techniques of data collection were test, observation, interviews and documentation. The Result of this research were CAI based teaching materials on topic simple harmonic motion was valid with point 4.23, this learning materials had positive response in learning process for topic simple harmonic motion with percentage of agreement 79% and students’learning result is high with score 77. Abstract

This research purpose was to create a new product in the form of multi-representation based module that can be used in learning activities. Multi-representation based module was an interesting module that made students understand the material easily. The purpose of this research was to produce a valid multi-representation based modules, to describe the students’ multi-representation ability and to know the students' response to the use of multi-representation based modules. The research design used the 4-D model that was reduced to be 3-D. The results of the research showed that the multi-representation based module was categorized quite valid with the value of expert validation was 3.89. Multi-representation capability on high criteria with N-gain value is 0.75. Meanwhile, the student's response was in the positive response category with the value of 79.4%. Multi-representation based module contained verbal representation, mathematical, pictures and graphs that were useful to help students to understand the material. Based on the results of this research, it could be concluded that the multi-representation based module was suitable to use as an interesting learning module. Abstract

This research was a developmental research. The product of this research was inthe form of students’ worksheet or LKS along with anime video in the topic of fluiddynamic at senior high school. The model of this development was ADDIE (Analyze,Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The research instruments used inthis research were in the form of validation sheet, critical thinking ability test, andstudents’ response questionnaire. Based on the validation results from the experts and theusers, it was known that the score for the LKS was 86,45% while for the anime video87,05%. Both of them were at the level of perfectly valid. The result of the pre-test andpost-test analysis showed that the average of N-gain score was 0,56 which was in themedium category. The students’ response of the use of LKS with anime video was 83,17%which was categorized as positive response.Key words: LKS, anime video, validation, students’ response, critical thinking.

Abstract

Guided inquiry is the application of constructivism learning theory which is based on scientific examination and investigation. The purposes of this research are too: (1) examine the differences in students science learning result using guided inquiry learning model with contextual-based video and learning model commonly used in SMP; (2) describe students activities; (3) describe students motivation. This research is a kind of experimental research which uses randomized post-test only control group design. The samples of this research are the students of class VII at SMPN 7 Jember, i.e. class VII B as a control class and class VII C as an experimental class. The data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-test in SPSS 16 to show differences between experimental class and control class. The results of this research are: (1) there are differences in students science learning result using guided inquiry learning model with contextual-based video and learning model commonly used in SMP; (2) the percentage of students activities is 87.81%; and (3) the percentage of students motivation is 85.77%.

Abstract

MALAPA bulletin is a supplemental teaching material that is attractively presented to give new nuance in teaching and learning process and to make the students able to understand the materials at ease. This research is meant to create a new product; MALAPA bulletin, that is appropriate to be used in teaching and learning process. The purposes of this research are: to produce a valid bulletin, to describe student’s interests and to know student’s thinking abilities toward the usage of Mari Belajar IPA (MALAPA) bulletin. The development design implemented in this research was 4-D development model. The results of the research show that the bulletin is valid category with 4.11 of expert validity. Student’s interest percentage toward the teaching and learning uses MALAPA bulletin is 83.54% with a good category. Student’s critical thinking ability percentage acquired 78.5% with a good category. MALAPA bulletin developed is weekly published where it contains materials that is modified as attractive as possible like warta sains, komik strip, TTSains, pantun sains, as well as the exercises. Based on this research result, it can be concluded that MALAPA bulletin is appropriate to be used as an interesting supplemental teaching material.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to identify the level of effectiveness of the application of the RC4 learning model on students' scientific literacy skills in science learning at junior high school. The participants involved in the present research consisted of 30 students from 7B class at SMP Negeri 1 Jember, East Java, Indonesia. The current research employed One Group with Pre-Test and Post-Test Research Design. Two trial sessions on Environmental Pollution and the Solar System material were administered. Data obtained from students' scientific literacy tests were analyzed using the Normalize Gain (N-Gain) formulation. The average N-Gain value in the small group trial showed a result of 0.53 and in the large group trial, it showed a result of 0.54. It can be concluded that the level of effectiveness of applying the RC4 learning model to students' scientific literacy skills was in the moderate category. Keywords: Scientific literacy, learning model, natural science, junior high school.  Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi tingkat keefektifan penerapan RC4 terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP. Subjek pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 30 orang siswa kelas 7B di SMP Negeri 1 Jember, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Group with Pre-Test and Post-Test Research Design, dengan dua sesi uji coba pada materi Pencemaran Lingkungan dan Sistem Tata Surya. Kemudian data hasil literasi sains siswa dianalisis menggunakan formulasi Normalize Gain (N-Gain). Nilai rerata N-Gain pada uji coba kelompok kecil menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,53 dan pada uji coba kelompok besar menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0.54. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keefektifan penerapan model pembelajaran RC4 terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa termasuk dalam kategori keefektifan sedang. Keywords: literasi sains, model pembelajaran, ipa, sekolah menengah pertama.

Abstract

The development of science in the 21st century science has an important role, especially natural science. Scientific developments in the field of education require students to have skills that will continue to be used to improve the quality of human resources. One of the skills needed is scientific literacy skills which are important for students to have because they can make students not only memorize subject matter but can make students able to understand and analyze science concepts and processes that occur contextually. Scientific literacy has indicator aspects namely explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically. This research is descriptive research. Research subjects of grade 8 students in the academic year 20 21/2022. The purpose of this study was to analyze the scientific literacy abilities of SMPIT Al-Ghozali students in science learning on environmental pollution. Data collection techniques used scientific literacy tests with reference to aspects of scientific literacy indicators and interviews. The results showed that students' scientific literacy achievement was 54.14% with sufficient criteria and the highest achievement indicator was 60% in the aspect of the indicator explaining phenomena scientifically. The results of this study indicate that students' scientific literacy needs to be improved in science learning activities

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui engineering performance and science performance siswa SMP pada materi kalor dan perpindahannya ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali pertemuan dengan partisipan 6 orrang siswa dari salah satu SMP di kabupaten Jember. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Engineering performance siswa laki-laki lebih unggul dibandingkan perempuan, tetapi tidak menunjukkan hasil yang sangat signifikan. Hal ini disebabkan karena siswa laki-laki secara signifikan lebih terlibat dalam kepemimpinan aktif, sebaliknya partisipasi siswa perempuan seringkali berfokus pada bantuan pasif. Selain itu, science performance siswa perempuan lebih mendominasi dibandingkan laki-laki, terlihat cukup signifikan jumlahnya. Perempuan lebih unggul di science performance pada bagian menjelaskan konsep sains kepada anggota kelompoknya, melalukan pencatatan, dan mengarahkan serta lebih berani untuk meminta pendapat dari guru. Sedangkan siswa laki-laki lebih kepada perilaku mengamati aktivitas secara pasif.
