Abstract

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has designated several fishing villages throughout Indonesia as kalaju villages, one of which is Cikiruhwetan Village, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province.  However, the development of kalaju village in Cikiruhwetan Village has not been optimized, so there is no visible difference between kalaju village and non-kalaju village.  Therefore, in order to optimize the development of kalaju village, the village community needs to be equipped with various understandings that can improve their abilities, especially abilities in the field of capture fisheries.  The improvement of understanding is carried out in the form of training or technical guidance involving the fishing community and agency employees and village officials.  Changes or improvements in understanding were tested using written questions given at the beginning of the training (pre-test) and at the end of the training (post-test).  Based on the evaluation results of the pre-test and post-test results, it can be seen that there is an increase in the understanding of the fishing community on the material provided. Although the increase in understanding has not been optimal, it can be done through regular training.

Abstract

Bentuk kapal penangkap ikan di Indonesia memiliki perbedaan hampir di setiap daerah yang terjadi karena pembangunan kapal yang masih dilakukan secara tradisional. Pembangunan kapal secara tradisional akan memengaruhi kesesuaian antara karakteristik kapal dan juga metode alat tangkap, salah satunya pada alat tangkap static gear yang dioperasikan oleh kapal di PPN Brondong. Oleh karena itu diperlukan identifikasi karakteristik kapal tradisional yang sesuai dengan alat tangkap static gear dengan membandingkan rasio dimensi utama. Kesesuaian terhadap alat tangkap static gear dilakukan dengan membandingkan nilai kapal tradisional dengan acuan. Perbandingan juga dilakukan pada setiap jenis kapal tradisional untuk melihat perbedaan karakteristik pada setiap jenisnya. Berdasarkan perbandingan nilai rasio dimensi utama kapal tradisional di PPN Brondong hampir sesuai dengan kisaran nilai di beberapa wilayah Indonesia. Abstract

Ikan merupakan produk yang mudah rusak dan butuh penanganan yang baik agar mutu ikan tetap dalam kualitas baik. Penerapan penanganan ikan secara baik dan benar sangat perlu dilakukan, untuk menjaga nilai ekonomis ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mendeskripsikan proses penanganan ikan di kapal perikanan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Bitung, mengobservasi CPIB di kapal perikanan hingga ke transportasi pengangkut di PPS Bitung, menghitung potensi risiko penurunan mutu selama proses penanganan ikan di kapal perikanan hingga ke transportasi pengangkut di PPS Bitung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode accidental sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan alur penanganan ikan di PPS Bitung dimulai dari ikan ditangkap dan dimasukkan ke dalam palka, hingga ikan di angkut menggunakan tranportasi ke Unit Pengolah Ikan (UPI). Penerapan Cara Penanganan Ikan yang Baik (CPIB) pada kapal perikanan di PPS Bitung ditemukan penyimpangan 1 mayor, 4 minor. Analisis risiko penurunan mut pada ikan setelah dilakukan pemetaan risiko di ditemukan empat kategori risiko 6 high, 3 medium, dan 1 low. Kata kunci: Bitung, penanganan ikan, risiko

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Pertamina sebagai badan usaha milik negara dipercaya untuk mendistribusikan BBM dan mengangkut minyak mentah ke seluruh pelosok Indonesia dengan mengoperasikan kapal-kapal tanker menurut tipe dan muatan yang diangkut.Kinerja kapal-kapal tanker penting diketahui karena tuntutan efisiensi biaya pengapalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja kecepatan kapal tertinggi (13,2940 knot) ditunjukkan oleh kapal tipe GP, sedangkan dan kinerja kecepatan kapal terburuk (10,5233 knot) ditunjukkan oleh kapal tipe MR masing-masing sebagai angkutan minyak mentah. Kinerja susut muatan terbaik (0,02683%) ditunjukkan oleh kapal tipe MR angkutan minyak mentah, dan terburuk (0,05669%) ditunjukkan oleh kapal tipe GP angkutan komponen BBM. MANOVA digunakan untuk menganalisis pengaruh antara variabel bebas tipe kapal dan muatan yang diangkut terhadap variabel kinerja kecepatan kapal dan susut muatan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai F untuk Pillai’s Trace, Wilks’ Lambda, Hotelling’s Trace, dan Roy’s Largest Root memiliki signifikansi lebih kecil dari 0,01 artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan untuk kinerja kecepatan kapal dan susut muatan menurut tipe kapal dan kargo yang diangkut. Dari hasil tests of between subjects effects, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tipe kapal dan kargo yang diangkut berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kecepatan kapal yang ditunjukkan pada nilai F dengan signifikansi 0,001, tetapi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap susut muatan, sebagaimana ditunjukkan pada nilai F dengan signifikansi 0,997.ABSTRACT : Pertamina as a state-owned enterprise was trusted to transport product oil and crude oil to all corners of Indonesia by operating oil tankers according to type and cargo transported. Tankers’ performance were important to know due to efficiency in shipping cost. Results of this study showed that the fastest speed performance (13.2940 knots) was shown by the type of vessel GP, while the slowest performance (10.5233 knots) was indicated by the type of vessel MR, both of them carried crude oil. While the best performance of transportation loss was demonstrated by the type of vessel MR with cargo crude oil that was 0.02683%, and the worst was indicated by the type of vessel GP with cargo intermediate that was 0.05669%. MANOVA was used to analyse influences independent variables the type of vessel and the cargo transported on the dependent variables the performance of speed and transportation loss. The result expressed that F value of Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root was significant, smaller than 0.01. It was meant that there was a significant difference to the performance of the speed and the transportation lossses according to the type of vessel and the cargo transported. Hence, the results of the tests of between subjects effects indicated that the type of vessel and the cargo transported significantly effected on the speed as indicated by the F value with significance value 0.001, but no significant effect on the transportation loss, as indicated on the F value with significance value 0.997.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPelabuhan Makassar merupakan salah satu pelabuhan utama di Indonesia yang berfungsi sebagai salah satu mata rantai yang ada dalam jaringan distribusi barang untuk menunjang pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia Timur dengan memfasilitasi perdagangan antar pulau hingga kegiatan ekspor dan impor. Peningkatan produktifitas pelabuhan perlu diimbangi dengan upaya peningkatan pelayanan, salah satu diantaranya adalah pelayanan dokumen untuk kapal dan barang melalui teknologi informasi. Inaportnet merupakan sebuah portal online yang mampu melayani pengajuan dan pengolahan data serta informasi, pengambilan keputusan penyelesaian dokumen kepabeanan, dan kepelabuhanan secara terpadu dengan prinsip kesatuan, kecepatan pelayanan, konsisten, sederhana, transparan, efisien dan berkelanjutan. Sebagai sebuah proyek yang berskala besar, Inaportnet perlu dinilai kelayakannya karena sebuah studi kelayakan bukan hanya merupakan sebuah dasar pengambilan keputusan terhadap kelanjutan proyek tetapi juga merupakan sebuah persyaratan kelengkapan secara administratif. Kajian ini berfungsi untuk menilai kelayakan penggunaan Inaportnet di Pelabuhan Makassar dari berbagai perspektif serta merumuskan strategi pengembangan e-business di pelabuhan Makassar. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif melalui analisis TELOS untuk menentukan kelayakan proyek dan dilanjutkan dengan SWOT untuk perumusan strategi penerapan e-business. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara umum bahwa Inaportnet layak untuk diterapkan meskipun terdapat beberapa hambatan terutama dari aspek teknis, ekonomi,  legal, operasional, dan penjadwalan. Strategi pengembangan e-business di Pelabuhan Makassar dilakukan melalui konsep Port Community System.

Abstract

Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai (PPP) Lempasing merupakan pelabuhan perikanan terbesar di Lampung. Salah satu kapal yang paling banyak dioperasikan di Pelabuhan Lempasing yaitu mini purse seine. Terdapat berbagai aktivitas di Pelabuhan Lempasing, yaitu pendaratan (bongkar muat) dan pemasaran ikan. Aktivitas bongkar muat di Pelabuhan Perikanan Lempasing merupakan aktivitas utama setelah kapal berlabuh di dermaga. Kecelakaan yang terjadi pada aktivitas bongkar muat dapat menyebabkan kerugian berupa terhambatnya kegiatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi kegiatan dan potensi bahaya aktivitas bongkar muat kapal mini purse seine, menganalisis tingkat kecelakaan dan peluang risiko yang mungkin dapat terjadi, memberikan rekomendasi/alternatif solusi, serta menentukan tindak pengendalian kecelakaan kerja. Metode survei deskriptif HTA (Hierachy Task Analysis) digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 47 risiko kecelakaan pada aktivitas bongkar muat, kegiatan berisiko ringan 36 (77%), menengah terdapat 5 (11%) kegiatan, 2 (4%) kegiatan berisiko berat, dan 4 (9%) kegiatan berisiko fatal. Risiko kecelakaan kerja terbesar terjadi pada kegiatan bongkar, hal ini disebabkan karena individu yang terlibat cukup banyak (sekitar 20 orang) dan aktivitas yang dilakukan cukup berat.

Abstract

Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) material has been widely used as a ship construction alternative to wood. FRP has many advantages such as lightweight material, easy maintenance, weather resistance, economical price, and shorter production time. FRP ship production is weak from the waste factor produced, such as production residue during shipbuilding, ship molds, and FRP shipwrecks. FRP waste can impact the environment, economy, and human health. These impacts include soil pollution, microplastics, skin diseases, and human respiratory disorders. FRP material tends to be burned by many shipyards but still leaves waste in the form of dust. FRP material is difficult to decompose and takes a long time to melt. One strategic effort to minimize the impact of FRP is to recycle FRP. This study aims to reduce FRP waste by making composite boards from FRP waste. The method used was experimental, involving the making of 12 specimens and testing the density, MOR, and MOE. Based on the results of the density value test, the average value obtained follows the JIS A 5905-2003 reference. The MOR and MOE values for each specimen do not comply with the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) standards. In the ANOVA test calculation, no significant differences were obtained for MOR and MOE.

Abstract

Outrigger boats are prevalent in Indonesian waters. In Indonesia, the majority of Outrigger boats have a gross tonnage of less than 7 GT, resulting in their classification as "boats." After being hit by waves, the outrigger serves as a balancing mechanism on the boat, ensuring that it does not capsize and that it continues to keep its stability. In spite of the fact that they have a number of benefits, outrigger boats also have a number of drawbacks. One of these drawbacks is that they need a mooring space that is sufficiently large to anchor the boat at the beach or pier. This research was carried out through the use of experimental methodologies. The stability value is a reference to the design parameters established by IMO A.749 (18), which are applicable to all boats. Type 2 boats have a maximum GZ value that is greater than that of type 1 boats. According to the findings of the study, the utilization of the Palabuhanratu pool was increased by 33% on model B boats and by 52% on boat C when the outrigger boom was pulled while the boat was in the port pool. This was in comparison to the original value when the boat was anchored without pulling the outrigger boom.

Abstract

Coastal communities increasingly require accessible renewable-energy education, yet conventional vocational programs rarely integrate local maritime knowledge or hands-on, culturally relevant practices. This study aims to develop and evaluate an ethnoscience-based vocational learning model that uses a simple wave-energy converter as a contextual tool. A qualitatively driven mixed-methods design was employed involving fishers, vocational students, teachers, and local stakeholders through interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and classroom implementations. Findings show that the model effectively bridges indigenous maritime knowledge with renewable-energy engineering concepts, producing pedagogically meaningful outcomes: a 21% increase in students’ conceptual understanding and a 139–270% improvement in psychomotor skills related to device design, measurement, and troubleshooting. Teachers reported enhanced capacity in contextual and multimodal instructional design, while community members recognized the model’s relevance to local energy needs. The study demonstrates that culturally grounded, low-cost engineering activities can strengthen STEM learning in resource-constrained coastal settings. These results have implications for integrating ethnoscience into vocational curricula, supporting equitable education, preserving local knowledge, and accelerating the adoption of community-based renewable technologies. This model offers a measurable pathway for policy development in vocational education, energy transition, and fisheries.

Abstract

Sea cucumbers are high value fishery commodities that play an important role in international trade. Despite their significant economic contribution, scientific information regarding the technical aspects of sea cucumber harvesting and onboard processing remains limited. This study aims to examine the technical practices of sea cucumber harvesting and onboard processing through a case study in the West Coast waters of Sumatra. The research was conducted in October 2025 in the waters of Tello Island, South Nias, using direct observation methods by participating in the entire operational sequence of sea cucumber harvesting and processing onboard fishing vessels. Primary data were collected through field observations and interviews with the vessel captain and crew members, while secondary data were obtained from fishing operation documents. The results indicate that the operational workflow of sea cucumber harvesting is systematically organized, encompassing preparation stages, compressor-assisted diving operations, and the regulation of divers’ working and resting periods. Onboard sea cucumber processing involves sequential stages of cleaning, boiling, soaking in saline solution, smoking, and drying, utilizing simple facilities and traditional methods. The technical workflows of harvesting and processing, as presented in tabular form, represent actual operational conditions in the field and provide an essential basis for understanding operational effectiveness, existing limitations, and the potential for sustainable development of sea cucumber fisheries.
