Abstract

Indonesia has an agricultural sector that contributes significantly to the Indonesian economy. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic affected the agricultural industry, it impacted much on the Maju Mulyo Farmer Group in Tambakrigadung, Lamongan. The majority of members of the Maju Mulyo Farmer Group were classified as dhuafa, which means that they had limitations in developing their businesses, planning family finances, and in using technology optimally to support business continuity. The solution provided was through community economic empowerment activities related to Maqashid Sharia-based financial management and digital marketing. The method began by identifying the existing conditions of the Maju Mulyo Farmer Group. Subsequently, it was proceeded with the training stages which included product development training, business management, recording simple accounting reports, e-commerce, digital marketing, and family financial management. The last stage consisted of mentoring, empowering, monitoring, and evaluation. The results of community service activities and providing training with regular assistance could open new insights for rural communities regarding financial and business management amid the COVID-19 Pandemic. Financial management and digital business could facilitate the daily activities of residents and improve the ability of villagers to survive during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to empirically investigate the effect of macroeconomic variables, the Human Development Index (HDI), and population on zakat collection in ASEAN for the 2010-2020 period. Macroeconomic factors used in this study include Inflation and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The approach used in this study is quantitative using panel data regression to estimate the empirical model involving four countries in ASEAN including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam. This article also finds that the best model used is the Fixed Effect Model. The results of this article show that the HDI variable and population have a positive and significant influence on zakat collection in four ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, the macroeconomic variables proxied by inflation and GDP show that the inflation rate does not have a significant effect, while GDP has a negative and statistically significant effect on zakat collection. The recommendations expressed in this article aimed at zakat management institutions in each country are to create a zakat work program that can maximize the zakat potential of each country, but must be accompanied by support from the government through policies issued so as to maximize the collection of zakat. zakat in these four countries. Abstract

This study aims to examine the model of poverty alleviation by analyzing several aspects that in Islamic economics are considered to have an effect on poverty alleviation. Using a sample of provinces in Indonesia, this study applies to panel data analysis. The novelty of this research is using more variables, including some aspects rarely discussed in previous empirical models. The results of this study indicate a significant negative effect of mandatory and charity transfer variables on the poverty level. Although using different proxies, the results of this study are in line with and confirm previous theories and empirical research regarding the effect of zakat on poverty alleviation. In addition, the variable of increasing income was also found to have a significant effect on poverty alleviation. This provides an overview for the government to be able to optimize the role of zakat and increase income to reduce poverty, for example, by integrating the distribution of ziswaf through the provision of working capital more broadly and integrated towards economic improvement and growth so that it will bring a greater multiplier effect. In addition, the results of this study also provide recommendations for researchers to complement the limitations of this study. The limitation of this study is the lack of proxies in describing aspects that become variables of poverty alleviation in Islam as a whole. Whereas in Islam, poverty and its alleviation are multidimensional things and are not limited to material aspects but also spiritual.

Abstract

Zakat has similarities with taxes but also differs in several respects. Zakat is an Islamic commandment, while taxes are a government order; and zakat aims to meet the needs of the poor, while taxes aim to meet the expenditure of society as a whole. Companies that only pay taxes and companies that pay taxes and zakat have many differences such as in profitability and capital structure. Most Muslims are busy with tax matters for fear of being punished for the crime of tax evasion. But they forget Allah's right in wealth and anyone who refuses to fulfill it is unlawful. Contemporary application of zakat should be a concern of the people.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This study aimed to analyze the influence of variable factors in the UTAUT2 (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) model on behavioral intention to use CWM (Crowdfunding-Waqf Model) in the Kitabisa.com application. The population used in this study were active users of the Kitabisa.com application, which are spread throughout Indonesia. Data collection techniques in this study used survey techniques by distributing questionnaires online to 174 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, which is a sampling technique with certain criteria. This study used the SEM-PLS analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the Effort Expectancy (EE) and Habit (HB) variables have a significant positive effect on behavioral intention to use CWM (Crowdfunding-Waqf Model) in the Kitabisa.com application, thus wakif really considers the ease of use of  technology and habits as a determining factor in the adoption of a technology, while 5 other variables, namely Performance Expectancy (PE), Price Value (PV), Social Influence (SI), Hedonic Motivation (HM), and Facilitating Condition (FC) variables have no significant positive effect on behavioral intention to use CWM (Crowdfunding-Waqf Model). The reason of these 5 variables are not significant is because the test results from the Hypothesis Test showed a number that was greater than the significance level of 5% or 0.05. Thus, the dependent variable in the form of Behavioral Intention to Use is only influenced by the Effort Expectancy (EE) and Habit (HB) variables. The contribution of this research is to encourage the policy makers to make policies or laws and regulations that can optimize the benefits of developing the waqf crowdfunding model (CWM) and protect all processes related to the use of productive waqf assets whose funds are collected from the Kitabisa.com application. Keywords: Crowdfunding Waqf Model, Kitabisa.com Application, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, Productive Waqf ABSTRAK Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor variabel di dalam model UTAUT2 (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) terhadap behvioral intention to use CWM (Crowdfunding-Waqf Model) pada aplikasi Kitabisa.com. Abstract

This research attempted to explore the determinants of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) compliance behavior in paying zakat (alms). This study involved business owners (SMEs) in the city of Mataram as the population and 176 people as the sample. The data were collected through online survey instruments employing the purposive sampling method. The testing technique and data analysis utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hence, the findings discovered that zakat literacy, Islamic egalitarianism, and moral norms influence the intention of SMEs owners to pay zakat. On the other hand, intention affects the owner's choice and compliance to pay zakat. This study is essential for zakat institutions to have a new strategy to encourage SMEs owners to pay zakat, considering the great potential in Indonesia. Distribution of zakat funds to asnaf (noun group of people worthy of receiving a Muslim tithe) fairly and equitably will attract more owners to pay their zakat through zakat institutions. Transparency and fairness in the distribution of zakat funds can increase the level of trust of SMEs owners in zakat institutions.
