Abstract

Children's numerical literacy skills have not developed optimally. This can be seen in learning, where although children can mention numbers 1 to 20, they still have difficulty recognizing number symbols and matching the number with the number symbol. This condition is caused by the lack of use of technology-based learning media specifically designed for children. This research aims to develop QR Code-based smart box media to improve early childhood numerical literacy skills. This research method uses the Research and Development model from Borg and Gall. Validation was carried out by 3 experts, the test subjects were Pertiwi 1 Padang kindergarten students. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis was carried out validity analysis, practicality analysis, and effectiveness test analysis using SPSS V. 25. Based on the results of the analysis, the QR Code-based smart box media has 96% instrument validation test results, 90% media validation test and 92% material validation test with very valid eligibility criteria. Based on the calculation of the N-Gain test results of 0.52, meaning that the development of QR Code-based smart box media to improve early childhood numerical literacy skills is in the medium category. Furthermore, a paired sample t-test was conducted with the results of sig. Abstract

At Pembina Barat State Kindergarten, the fine motor skills of early childhood students appear to still be developing toward their full potential, as evidenced by difficulties they experience when cutting, pasting, gripping, and crumpling paper. This situation forms the foundation of a study aimed at examining how effective collage activities using recycled paper are in stimulating the fine motor development of 5–6-year-old children at the institution. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, followed by data analysis including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing to ensure the scientific validity of the findings. Results indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, allowing the hypothesis tests to be applied appropriately. The experimental class recorded a score increase of 61, far exceeding the control class, which only reached 33. These findings confirm that collages made from recycled paper have a significant positive impact on children’s fine motor development. This creative activity not only trains precision and finger coordination but also synchronizes the movements of the right and left hands, strengthens the control of small muscles in an integrated manner, and creates a dynamic, interactive, and enjoyable learning experience for the children at Pembina Barat State Kindergarten in Payakumbuh City. Keywords: Early Childhood, Fine Motor Skills, Recycled Paper Collage ABSTRAK Di Taman Kanak-Kanak Negeri Pembina Barat, kemampuan motorik halus anak-anak usia dini tampak masih dalam tahap transisi menuju optimalisasi, terbaca dari kesulitan mereka saat menggunting, menempel, meremas, dan menggenggam kertas. Abstract

The development of early childhood (ECD) independence is an important foundation for future learning success and social adjustment. However, this development requires a consistent stimulating environment between home and school. This study aims to empirically analyze (quantitative data simulation) how much significant influence Management of School-Family Partnership (MKSK) has on Early Childhood Independence. MKSK refers to a structured collaboration between schools and parents, which in this study is measured using Joyce L. Epstein's Six Types of Engagement Model framework. The method used was correlational quantitative research with a simulation subject of N=172 parents of PAUD/TK students. MKSK and Independence data were measured using validated questionnaire instruments, then analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression analysis. The main results showed that MKSK has a positive and significant effect on Early Childhood Independence, with a regression coefficient of B=0.756 (p<0.001). MKSK was found to account for 45.2% of the variation in children's Independence scores. This finding provides strong evidence that planned partnership management - particularly through two-way communication (Type 2) and home learning support (Type 4) - is an essential strategy for ECD units to create an environment conducive to the optimal development of children's independence.

Abstract

This study examined the development and initial evaluation of an e-module themed "I Love the Earth" designed to support mutual cooperation in early childhood education. The study was motivated by the need to strengthen young children’s prosocial dispositions, particularly collaboration, caring, helping, and sharing, within the framework of the Pancasila Student Profile. It adopted a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The e-module was developed as a project-based digital resource that combined environmental themes with collaborative learning activities for children aged 5 to 6 years. The study involved expert validators, teachers, and children at TK Negeri Pembina Linggo Sari Baganti. The findings showed that the developed e-module obtained an average validity score of 94%, a practicality score of 93%, and an effectiveness score of 87%. Effectiveness was assessed through observational indicators related to children’s mutual cooperation during project activities, including collaboration in groups, caring for peers, empathy, helping behavior, and sharing. These results suggest that the e-module was not only feasible for classroom use, but also showed potential to support the cultivation of mutual cooperation through contextual and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Rather than implying that digital media are inherently effective for character formation, the study indicates that digital resources may become pedagogically meaningful when they are structured around social interaction, shared activity, and children’s everyday experience. In broader terms, the study offers a contextually grounded example of how digital pedagogy, project-based learning, and value-oriented early childhood education may be brought into relation, with possible relevance for wider discussions on prosocial and environmentally situated learning in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

Students' struggles with letter recognition when they are five or six years old in kindergarten serve as the impetus for this study. Many kids still have trouble learning to recognize individual letters, distinguish between them, and associate them with their sounds, so clearly this is a problem. Furthermore, engaging and diverse learning materials are still not enough to support the continuous learning process. Finding out how using kopin media (smart box) affects letter recognition in 5-6 year olds in Pertiwi 3 Kindergarten Padang is the main goal of this study. This research makes use of a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental methodology. All of the students of Pertiwi 3 Kindergarten Padang make up the study's population. The sample for this study consists of 26 students from B1 and B2 courses. The data was gathered through careful observation, as well as performance testing and documentation. Hypothesis testing, homogeneity tests, and normality tests were used to analyze the data. Based on the findings of the hypothesis test, the two-tailed sig value is 0.000 < 0.05. According to the study's findings, Ha is accepted and H0 is denied. Children at Pertiwi 3 Kindergarten, Padang, Indonesia, who are five or six years old, demonstrate a remarkable improvement in their letter recognition skills after using the Kopin media (smart box).
