Abstract

The Betok fish (Anabas testudineus) is one of the freshwater fish species with potential for aquaculture. Larvae rearing faces challenges, namely low survival rates due to low nutrient content in the feed. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement Moina sp. with viterna. This study aims to determine the optimal dose of viterna in Moina sp. supplementation to improve the survival rate and growth of Betok fish larvae. The method used is an experiment. The experimental design employed is a Complete Randomised Design (CRD) with one factor and three treatments, each repeated three times. The treatments involved enriching Moina sp. with viterna at different doses: D0 = 0 ml/L (control), D20 = 20 ml/L, D40 = 40 ml/L, and D60 = 60 ml/L. The results of the study showed that the enrichment of Moina sp. with different viterna doses affected the survival rate and growth of betok fish larvae. The best treatment was D60, with absolute weight growth of 0.47 g, specific growth rate of 8.01%/day, absolute length growth of 2.64 cm, and survival rate of 93.33%. The water quality parameters obtained included temperature 26–29.1°C, pH 6.3–7.1, and dissolved oxygen (DO) 5.3–6.2 ppm.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Mei 2023 di Laboratorium Pembenihan dan Pemuliaan Ikan, Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan, Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi fotoperiode dan temperatur terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan gabus (Channa striata). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah fotoperiode dengan 3 taraf; 24 jam pada siang hari (P1), 12 jam pada gelap dan 12 jam pada siang hari (P2), 24 jam pada gelap (P3). Faktor kedua adalah temperatur dengan 2 taraf; 28oC (T28) dan 30oC (T30). Larva ikan gabus dipelihara selama 40 hari dalam akuarium. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah pertambahan panjang mutlak, pertambahan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, kelulushidupan, indeks kanibalisme, dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi fotoperiode dan temperatur berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan gabus. Interaksi fotoperiode dan suhu dengan perlakuan fotoperiode 24 pada kondisi gelap dan temperature 30oC menghasilkan pertambahan panjang mutlak 7,17 cm, pertambahan berat mutlak 2,27 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 16,84%/hari, kelulushidupan 95,56%, kanibalisme tipe A 1,11%, kanibalisme tipe B 0,00%, indeks kanibalisme 1,11%, dan mati normal 3,33%. Kualitas air selama penelitian adalah pH air pemeliharaan larva 6,5-7,1 dan DO 4,0-5,2 mg/L

Abstract

Sebagai wujud aksi dari kepedulian terhadap lingkungan, tim kuliah kerja nyata Universitas Riau melakukan kegiatan penghijauan dengan dijalankannya program sosialisasi penanaman dan pembagian 1000 bibit pohon. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sawah, Kecamatan Kampar Utara, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau dengan semboyan “Kebangkitan Hijau”. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan bersama dengan Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Provinsi Riau melalui penanaman dan pembagian 1000 bibit yang terdiri dari bibit sirsak, durian dan matoa. Adapun tujuan dari kegiatan penanaman dan pembagian 1000 bibit pohon ini adalah bentuk kebangkitan hijau di Desa Sawah, menjaga kelestarian lingkungan, memperbanyak ragam jenis tanaman buah-buahan di Desa Sawah. Kegiatan berlangsung dengan sangat lancar dan mendapatkan sambutan positif serta apresiasi dari masyarakat yang menghadiri acara. Diharapkan adanya sistem pemantauan untuk memastikan bibit yang dibagikan tumbuh dengan baik dan mencapai hasil yang diinginkan. Masyarakat diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan dan cara merawat bibit tanaman yang baik dan benar. Abstract

The employee information system is one of the data processing activities at the Aceh Language Hall Office, to get information about employees to be more focused and easy to obtain. In this study, researchers only discussed employee problems and data management mechanisms at the Aceh Language Center Office and designed an employee data collection information system using PHP and MySQL. The research objective was to understand the problems of employees and data management at the Aceh Language Center Office and to create a supporting application about employee information systems using PHP and MySQL. The collection of data needed in writing this report was obtained by two methods, namely literature studies related to literature, library books, and other scientific works, field studies by conducting interviews, and direct observation of objects related to this research. The employee information system is carried out by one of the administrative staff and assisted by 2 (two) employee administration staff to record and input employee data. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the employee information system at the Aceh Language Hall Office has followed the procedure and uses a computer with the PHP and MySQL language programs as the database.

Abstract

This research was conducted on November - December 2021, at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory of Fishery and Marine Faculty of Riau University. The research aim is to determine the effect of thyroxin hormone with doses and different age on growth and survival rate of snakehead larvae. The method used was Completely Randomized Design Factorial. The first factor was the different doses with 4 levels, namely 0 mg/L (D0), 0,3 mg/L (D1), 0,5 mg/L (D2) and 0,7 mg/L (D3). The second factor is larvae age with 3 levels, namely 3 days (U3), 5 days (U5) and 7 days (U7). Larvae was rearing for 40 days in an aquarium with a density of 2 fish/L. The findings showed that thyroxin hormone with different doses and larvae age affected the growth of absolute weight and length, specific growth rate, and also survival rate of snakehead larvae. The treatment of doses 0,7 mg/L and 7 days of larvae age (D3U7) showed the highest growth, namely absolute weight 3.32 g, absolute length 6,19 cm, specific growth rate of 17.53%/day, and survival rate of 90%. The parameter of water quality during the research was 26,9-28.9C, pH 6.7-7.6, dissolved oxygen 5-7.2 mg/L, and ammonia 0.0024-0.0035 mg/L.Keywords: Thyroxine Doses, Different Age, Channa striata, Growth and Survival Rate

Abstract

This research was conducted in February-March 2021 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Aquaculture departement, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine science, Riau University. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of population growth of Daphnia magna and the best dose of Spirulina sp. flour on population growth of D. magna. This research used an experiment, with a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. With treatment, namely Control, P 0.02 g/L, P 0.04 g/L, P 0.06 g/L, P 0.08 gr/L. Experiment was carried out for 16 days and the population was observed every two days. The results of the research showed that the dose of Spirulina sp. flour had a significant effect (P0.05), the highest results were found in P 0.06 g/L with a total of 1165 ind/L on day 12, then followed by P 0.04 g/L was 953 ind/L on day 10, after that P 0.02 g/L was 716 ind/L on day 8, and the lowest was Control with a total of 655 ind/L on day 8th, temperature ranged from 28,1-29,4 C pH ranged from 7.17.3, DO ranged from 4.5-5.3 mg/L, and ammonia ranged from 0.00458-0.00741 mg/L.Keywords: daphnia magna, spirulina sp., dose

Abstract

Penyakit busuk batang akar (BPB) merupakan salah satu penyakit yang menyebabkan menurunnya efisiensi kelapa sawit. BPB disebabkan oleh Ganoderma boninense Pat. Alternatif pengendalian penyakit ini yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan pengendalian hayati menggunakan Bacillus spp, karena bersifat ramah lingkungan.. Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji kemampuan Bacillus spp.  yang dapat menghambat G. boninense dan menentukan kap Bacillus spp. dalam mempengaruhi morfologi G. boninense penyebab BPB pada kelapa sawit secara in vitro. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen dan terdiri dari 7 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan, yaitu: tanpa Bacillus spp., Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus pseudomycoides, Bacillus velezensis 1, Bacillus velezensis 2, Bacillus velezensis 3. Data  hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan Analysis of Varians (ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5% menggunakan program SPSS versi 25. Data hasil pengamatan yang diperoleh dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda duncan (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bacillus spp. yaitu B. amyloliquefaciens, B. cereus,  B. pseudomycoides, B. velezensis 1, B. velezensis 2 dan B. velezensis 3 mampu menghambat G. boninense namun 3 Bacillus spp. yaitu B. cereus, B. pseudomycoides dan B. amyloliquefaciens tidak mampu menghasilkan zona hambat. B. velezensis 2 lebih baik dalam menghambat G. boninense dengan daya hambat 78,05%, zona hambat 58,8%, daya hambat filtrat 92,49%. Bacillus spp. mampu mempengaruhi karakteristik makroskopis dan mikroskopis G. boninense, dapat menyebabkan G. boninense tidak mampu menghasilkan konidia serta dapat menghambat perkecambahan spora G.boninense.

Abstract

Penglihatan bagi sebagian besar larva ikan memiliki peran yang sangat penting yang digunakan dalam mendeteksi keberadaan pakan. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi penglihatan dalam kondisi alami bergantung pada warna latar habitat yang disukai ikan tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pengaruh warna latar wadah terhadap pertumbuhan dan sintasan larva ikan nilem (Osteochilus hasselti). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap satu faktor dengan lima perlakuan warna latar media dengan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah perbedaan warna wadah yaitu Wo (wadah oranye), Wbr (wadah biru), Wm (wadah merah), Wb (wadah bening), dan Wh (wadah hitam). Penelitian ini menggunakan larva ikan nilem berusia 5 hari setelah menetas dengan ukuran 0,5 ± 0,03 cm dengan pada tebar 2 ekor L-1. Selama pemeliharaan, ikan diberi pakan Artemia selama 10 hari pertama dan dilanjutkan dengan Moina sp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa warna latar wadah berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan nilem (P<0,05). Perlakuan terbaik adalah Wo (wadah oranye) dengan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak 1,08 ± 0,03 g, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak 3,04 ± 0,02 cm, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 14,57 ± 0,07 % hari-1, dan sintasan 93,33 ± 2,89 %. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan respons larva ikan nilem terhadap pakan yang diberikan.  Vision ability has a very important role for most fish larvae which are used to detect the presence of food. One of the factors that affecting vision in natural conditions depends on the favorable background color of the fish’s habitat. The aim of study was to determine the effects of the background colors of the container on the growth and survival of bonylip barb (Osteochilus hasselti) larvae. The experimental method has used in this study was one factor completely randomized design with five different background’s colors of the container with three replications for each treatment. The treatments in this study were different color containers, namely Wo (orange container), Wbr (blue container), Wm (red container), Wb (clear container), and Wh (black container). This study used bonylip larvae aged 5 days after hatching with a size of 0,5±0,03 cm with a stocking of 2 individuals L-1. During the rearing period, the fish were fed Artemia for the first 10 days and continued with Moina sp. The results showed that the background’s color of the container significantly affected on the growth and survival of bonylip barb larvae (P<0.05). The best treatment was Wo (orange container) with an absolute weight growth of 1.08 ± 0.03 g, an absolute length growth of 3.04 ± 0.02 cm, a specific growth rate of 14.57 ± 0.07% day-1, and a survival of 93.33 ± 2.89%. It was indicated with the response of bonylip barb fish larvae to the administered feed.

Abstract

Blackskin catfish (Clarias meladerma Bleeker, 1846) is one of the endemic freshwater fish that has economic value but this fish has not been cultivated, besides that the problem is that this fish still has slow growth and low survival in the larval stage. One approach that can be taken to increase growth and survival is by administering vitamin C through natural feed enrichment in the form of Daphnia sp., so the aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of giving Daphnia sp. enriched with vitamin C on the growth and survival of blackskin catfish larvae. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments to wit Daphnia sp. enrichment. with a dose of vitamin C each of 0 mg/L, 150 mg/L, 200 mg/L and 250 mg/L and each treatment was repeated 3 times, for the enrichment process by immersing Daphnia sp. with vitamin C carried out for 3 hours. Rearing of the larvae was carried out in an aquarium with a volume of 10 L of water and a stocking rate of 2 fishes/L with an initial size of larvae 0.70 ± 0,00 cm. During rearing the larvae were fed 4 times a day. The results showed that the administration of Daphnia sp. enriched with vitamin C gave the best growth in the P3 treatment (250 mg/L), specifically the absolute length growth was 0.81 cm better than the control treatment, the absolute weight growth was 0.43 g better than the control treatment, the specific growth rate was 0.54% better than the control treatment and survival 18.4% better than the control treatment. (P<0.05). So based on this study, it was concluded that the enrichment of Daphnia sp. with vitamin C has a positive impact on the growth and survival of blackskin catfish larvae (Clarias meladerma Bleeker, 1846).
