Abstract

The lack of Arabic language teaching materials that integrate a communicative approach and moderate values simultaneously. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of communicative Arabic language teaching materials developed based on moderate values messages on improving students' Arabic language skills. Moderate values such as tolerance (at-tasāmuh), balance (al-tawāzun), and anti-radicalism are integrated into teaching materials in the form of texts, dialogues, and language exercises. A quantitative approach was applied with a quasi-experimental design. The subjects of the study consisted of 57 students, with 27 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class at Al-Izzah Batu High School. The research instruments in the form of pretest and posttest tests were used to measure student learning outcomes. Normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and the variance was homogeneous. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means that there was a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students in the experimental and control classes. The N-Gain calculation showed an increase of 65.22%, which is included in the moderate category. These results indicated that the use of communicative teaching materials based on moderate values is effective in improving students' Arabic language skills while instilling moderate character. This study recommended the use of Arabic language teaching materials that are taught not only as a means of communication, but also as a means of internalizing the values of moderation.

Abstract

Evaluation is one of the essential components in the learning process. It aims to obtain accurate information regarding students' achievements based on predetermined indicators. To facilitate the implementation of evaluation for teachers, an assessment tool that is accurate, efficient, and interactive is required. However, the evaluation tools commonly used are still conventional in nature, making the process appear monotonous and often causing students to feel bored and less engaged. As a result, student participation in the evaluation process tends to be low. To address this issue, the researcher aims to develop and describe the feasibility of an Arabic language learning evaluation media based on the Wordwall platform for fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Malang City. The research employed a Research and Development (RD) approach using the ADDIE model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The research findings indicate that the Wordwall-based evaluation media is highly valid, with validation scores of 84% from media experts, 93% from material experts, and 100% from the classroom teacher. Student responses were also highly positive, with an interest level of 100%. Therefore, this media is considered feasible and engaging for use in Arabic language learning evaluation.

Abstract

Water quality is a crucial factor in the cultivation of Sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus). One of the main issues in catfish farming is the increase in ammonia levels in the water, which can negatively impact fish health and the environment. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the phytoremediation method using Eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth), Pistia stratiotes (water lettuce), and Azolla microphylla in reducing ammonia levels from catfish farming wastewater. The research employed an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of three treatments using each plant type and a control group without treatment. The results showed that the phytoremediation method using water hyacinth was the most effective in reducing ammonia levels, achieving an efficiency of 99.35%. Water lettuce and Azolla microphylla also demonstrated effectiveness in absorbing ammonia, with efficiencies of 98.2% and 96.4%, respectively. Additionally, water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), phosphate, and nitrate were within the optimal range for fish farming. Based on these findings, the phytoremediation method using aquatic plants can be an environmentally friendly solution for managing catfish farming wastewater. Further research is needed to optimize environmental conditions and the number of plants used in the phytoremediation process.

Abstract

Containerized fish farming is an innovative applied technology developed to address land limitations and improve food security and household economic well-being. This technology is simple, low-cost, space-efficient, and easy to implement in domestic environments, making it highly suitable for both urban and densely populated areas. This system utilizes water optimally and can be combined with plant cultivation through a simple aquaponics concept, thereby reducing waste and increasing the efficiency of integrated and sustainable space utilization. The result of this community service activity is the implementation of containerized fish farming technology, which serves as a suitable solution for urban and densely populated communities to support nutritional needs and supplement family income. Farmed fish also serve as an essential source of animal protein to support household nutritional security. However, in practice, limited space, high population density, and specific environmental regulations can pose challenges to implementing this small-scale farming system. Furthermore, resistance from the surrounding environment or family members may also arise due to negative perceptions about the cleanliness or orderliness of the cultivation area.
