Abstract

Mangrove is a community of tropical coastal plants dominated by several species of trees with shrubs that have the ability to grow in coastal areas. The purpose of this research is to know various kind of mangroves which located in Tanjung Bila area. The research were done for 4 month start from February until May 2016 in Tanjung Bila Pemangkat region Sambas regency. The data of mangrove vegetation were collected using the transect line plot method. There were 8 species of mangroves found in Tanjung Bila area and classified into 5 family i.e. Avicennia marina, Avicennia alba (Avicenniaceae), Bruguiera cylindrica, Rhizophora apiculata (Rhizophoraceae), Sonneratia caseolaris (Sonneratiaceae), Acanthus ilicifolius, Acanthus volubilis (Acanthaceae) dan Acrostichum speciosum (Pteridaceae).

Abstract

Aquatic macrophyte is one of macro plants that grows in or in near that water. The study aimed to know structure of aquatic macrophyte community plants in Embau river district of Hulu Gurung, Kapuas Hulu Regency. The research sample were taken in april 2016 using cover area transect. There are 15 species from 12 families of aquatic macrophytes found in the research site. Thirteen types of these plants are emergent such as Calla sp., Cyperus pilosus L., Chiloscypus polyanthos L., Dichodontium sp., Donax canniformes, Eleocharis pervula R.Br, Fissidens toxifolius L. Vhal, Fluminea festutacea, Eleusine indica (L) Gaertn, Homalomena sp., Monosolenium terenum, Polygonum sp. dan Rosmarinus sp. The two types of submerged plants found in the sampling site are Glossostigma sp., and Elodea sp. Species of F. toxifolius L. Vhal is one of aquatic macrophytes that had the highest cover area transect (CAT) with 18,1% while Eleusine indica (L) Gaertn had the lowest CAT with 1,39%. According diversity index aquatic macrophyte in Embau river was moderate (H’= 1,18-1,8), Index of dominace was low (C= 0,21-0,44) and high level of evenest index (E= 0,44-0,69). The Embau river is the highest polluted heavy metal of Plumbum (Pb2+) in sediment with 13,4 mg/l.

Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merrill) Anjasmoro variety is one of the superior soybean varieties widely cultivated in West Kalimantan. The growth of soybean can be increased by applying liquid organic fertilizer namely goat biourine. The purpose of this study was to determine the goat biourine quality and the effect of the application of goat biourine on the growth of Anjasmoro variety soybean plants. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments, namely without biourine/control, 100 mL/L biourine, 200 mL/L biourine, 300 biourine mL/L and  400 mL/L biourine. Each treatment was repeated 5 times to obtain 25 experimental units. The analysis of goat biourine showed the value of C-Organic 2.03%, pH 4.83, N 0.72%, P 0.004% and K 0.234%. The results showed that apply of goat biourine had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, shoot wet of weight, shoot dry of weight, number of branches, number of root nodules and the number of effective root nodules, but it had not a significant effect on root wet of weight and root dry of weight.

Abstract

Pontianak as the a city the of West Kalimantan, of course, encountered the descrease of land from year to year. This issue leads to the increase of carbon emission in the air. The aim of this research is to find out howmuch biomass and reserved carbon on the surface of gardens in the Pontianak city. This study was conducted from March to June 2017. This used non-destructive methods and alometric equations, data collection was gathered through census on each stand up by measuring DBH ≥ 5 cm. The results of this study shows that biomass above the oil surface at five gardens in Pontianak city was around 36,85-473,42 ton/Ha and reserves carbon was around 18,42-236,71 ton C/Ha. The highest reserve carbon was on street of Jalan Ahmad Yani 1 with the value of reserved carbon was around 236.71 ton C/Ha and the lowest reserved carbon was at the garden of Tugu Khatulistiwa, that was 18.42 ton C/Ha.

Abstract

Kesehatan merupakan faktor kebutuhan utama manusia untuk dapat melangsungkan aktivitas hidup dengan sempurna. Kesehatan masyarakat terganggu bila terdapat kuman yang menginfeksi tubuh. Corona  atau Severe  Acute  Respiratory  Syndrome Coronavirus  2 (SARS- CoV-2) adalah virus yang menyerang  sistem pernapasan. Penyakit ini dapat menyebabkan infeksi paru-paru yang berat, hingga kematian. Data bulan April 2020, Kecamatan Pontianak Timur dilaporkan mempunyai angka kasus positif Covid-19 paling tinggi diantara kecamatan lain di Kota Pontianak.  Kelurahan di Kecamatan Pontianak Timur yang dilaporkan mempunyai angka kasus Covid-19 antara lain Kelurahan Tanjung Hulu, Kelurahan Parit Mayor, Kelurahan Banjar Serasan, Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit, Kelurahan Dalam Bugis dan Kelurahan Tanjung Hilir. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat tentang kesehatan dan cara mengatasi permasalahan kesehatan sangat perlu dilakukan  suatu bentuk sosialisasi dengan cara memberikan edukasi tentang permasalahan kesehatan dan cara mengatasinya. Cara yang sangat memungkinkan pada masa pandemi ini adalah dengan tidak langsung bertatap muka namun dapat dilakukan secara tidak langsung yaitu melalui leaflet dan contoh produk.  Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi kesehatan dalam mencegah Covid-19 kepada masyarakat. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi dan penyuluhan melalui leaflet yaitu cara pembuatan hand sanitizer dan masker serta contoh  produk hand sanitizer dan masker yang diberikan kepada masyarakat. Sebelum pelaksanaan kegiatan, sebagian besar masyarakat (90%) di Kecamatan Pontianak Timur belum menerapkan protokol pencegahan Covid-19 yang benar. Setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan diperoleh hasil berupa peningkatan kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat (100%, n=100 orang) mengenai upaya pencegahan Covid-19 serta cara pembuatan masker dan hand sanitizer.

Abstract

(Article History: Received February 18, 2021; Revised April 27, 2021; Accepted May 19, 2021) ABSTRAKPerkembangbiakan anggrek secara generatif alami membutuhkan bantuan jamur mikoriza untuk perkecambahan biji, sedangkan usaha perbanyakan konvensional memerlukan waktu lama untuk memperoleh tanaman dalam jumlah banyak. Salah satu alternatif untuk perbanyakan anggrek hitam (Coelogyne pandurata Lindl.) adalah melalui multiplikasi tunas anggrek secara in vitro. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuktikan pengaruh pemberian NAA (Naphthalene Acetic Acid) dan ekstrak biji jagung (Zea mays) terhadap multiplikasi tunas anggrek hitam. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama adalah NAA terdiri dari 5 taraf konsentrasi yaitu A0 (0 M/ kontrol) A1 (10-7 M), A2 (10-6 M), A3 (5x10-7 M) dan A4 (5x10-6 M ) dan faktor ekstrak biji jagung (B) dengan 5 taraf konsentrasi yaitu B0 (0%), B1 (2,5%), B2 (5%); B3 (7,5%) dan B4 (10%). Pemberian kombinasi NAA dan ekstrak biji jagung berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter yaitu jumlah tunas, jumlah daun, dan tinggi tunas. Hasil terbaik rerata jumlah tunas pada perlakuan A4+B4 yaitu 5x10-6M NAA+10% ekstrak biji jagung. Hasil terbaik pada rerata jumlah daun pada perlakuan A2+B2 yaitu 5x10-7M NAA+5% ekstrak biji jagung dan hasil terbaik pada rerata tinggi tunas pada perlakuan A1+B1 yaitu 10-7M NAA+2,5% ekstrak biji jagung.Kata Kunci: multiplikasi; tunas anggrek hitam; ekstrak biji jagung; NAA. ABSTRACTGenerative reproduction of orchid plants it takes a requires the help of mycorriza mushrooms for seed germination, whereas conventional propagation business takes a long time to obtain large quantities of plants. One alternative to the propagation black orchids (Coelogyne pandurata Lindl.) is required through tissue culture techniques. The purpose of this study is to find the influence and concentration corn seed extract (Zea mays) and NAA (Naphthalene Acetic Acid) on the multiplication black orchids. This research was conducted in the tissue culture laboratory Biology Department Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Tanjungpura University Pontianak. The study used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) of factorial patterns with two treatment factors. The first factor is that the NAA consists of 5 concentration levels  A0 (0 M) A1 (10-7 M), A2 (10-6 M), A3 (5x10-7 M) and A4 (5x10-6 M ) and the second factor is that corn seed extract of 5 levels concentratio B0(0%), B1 (2,5%), B2 (5%); B3 (7,5%) and B4 (10%). The administration NAA and corn seed extract in combination has a real effect on all parameters namely the number shoots, the number leaves, and the height shoots. The best results where the average number of shoots in the treatment of A2+B2 namely 5x10-6M NAA + 10% corn seed extract. The best results average number of leaves in the treatment  A2+B2 namely 5x10-7M NAA + 5% corn seed extract and in the best results for shoot height in the treatment of A1+B1 namely 10-7M NAA + 2.5% corn seed extract.Keywords: Multiplication; black orchid’s shoot; corn  seed extract; NAA

Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is one of the plantation crops and major export commodity in Indonesia, but its development is widely still face barriers that their pests and diseases. Rotten fruit is the most dominant disease because it causes a large loss, one of the causes fruit rot disease is a fungal pathogen attack named Phytophthora palmivora (Butl.). This research aims to examine the ability of the fungus Trichoderma spp. insuppressing the growth of P. palmivora. Isolation and identification of fungi were calculated using direct planting method and dilution method, also the antagonists were tested in vitro. The results showed that three types of fungus Trichoderma found on cocoa plantations that Trichoderma sp. 1, Trichoderma harzianum, and Trichoderma viride. Based on the research results, T. viride most capable of inhibiting the growth of the fungus P. palmivora antagonist with highest percentage of 71.95%.

Abstract

The Malay people stilluse various types of plants as traditional medicine for the treatment of mothers before and after childbirth.The purpose of this study is to find out the types and parts of plants that are most widely used for the treatment of mothers before and after childbirth. This research was conducted from September to December 2020 in Sekura Village Sambas Regency. Determination of respondents using purposive sampling method. The results of the study obtained 38 types of plants classified in 21 families. The most widely used family is the family Zingiberaceae at 13%. Prenatal treatment is done pregnant 7 months until the end of the process of childbirth, namely drinking potions and pregnant bath ingredients. Traditional postnatal medicine is carried out for 44 days consisting of internal and external medication. The internal medication consists of herbs, sireh untalan, and sambal lade. The external medication consists of abdominal param, body param, bathing material and massage oil. These traditional drugs were taped, eaten, drink and applied as an ingredient for bathing. The most plant part in medicine is the leaves by 27% and the least is the stem by 2%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the distribution pattern of aboveground biomass (AGB) in the mangrove ecosystem of West Kalimantan Safety. In addition, it also analyzes the differences in biomass and carbon stocks in the condition of mangrove forests. The study of the distribution pattern of AGB of mangrove forests was carried out between August and September 2018. Determination of the location of the study was based on a conceptual approach in the dimensions of spatial temporal that is using the Porposive Random Sampling method. Vegetation analysis was carried out by a single plot measuring 50 m x 50 m at each selected location. Based on vegetation analysis data it was found that the density of mangrove stands on the Peniti coast ranged from 38 to 185 ind /ha, with an average of 88.25 ± 66.15 ind./ Ha. The AGB of pinch mangrove forests ranged from 8.85 to 84.82 Mg / ha with the largest total AGB distributed in the stand diameter class of more than 80 cm. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola distribusi aboveground biomass (AGB) pada ekosistem mangrove Peniti Kalimantan Barat. Selain itu juga untuk menganalisis perbedaan biomassa, dan cadangan karbon pada kondisi hutan mangrove. Kajian pola distribusi AGB hutan mangrove Peniti dilakukan antara bulan Agustus dan September 2018. Penentuan lokasi penelitian didasarkan pada pendekatan konseptual dalam dimensi spasio temporal yaitu menggunakan metode Porposive Random Sampling. Analisis vegetasi dilakukan dengan metode petak tunggal berukuran 50 m x 50 m pada setiap lokasi terpilih. Berdasarkan data analisis vegetasi didapatkan bahwa kerapatan tegakan mangrove di pesisir Peniti berkisar antara 38 sampai 185 ind/ha, dengan rata-rata 88,25±66,15 ind./ha. AGB tegakan hutan mangrove Peniti berkisar antara 8,85 sampai 84,82 Mg/ha dengan total AGB terbesar terdistribusi pada kelas diameter tegakan lebih dari 80 cm.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAn assessment of the potential of mangrove forests in the Kayong Utara Regency in storing carbon has not been published scientifically before, so scientific data on this matter will be able to support efforts to conserve and utilize mangrove forests in this Regency. This study aims to estimate the carbon stock and carbon sequestration of mangrove vegetation in Mangrove Forest Tourism Park, Sukadana District, Kayong Utara Regency. The estimation of biomass, carbon stock and carbon sequestration was carried out by non-destructive methods using observation plots at several purposively selected sampling locations. The estimation results of the total vegetation biomass from Above-ground Biomass (AGB) and Below-ground Biomass (BGB) from each observation plot ranged from 281.31 – 974.10 Mg ha−1 and the total vegetation carbon stock (AGC and BGC) ranged from 126.32 – 439.03 Mg C ha−1. Analysis of the total CO2 sequestration of mangrove vegetation at the site ranged from 463.58 to 1611.24 Mg CO2 ha−1. Maintenance of mangrove forests at this site can prevent the release of non-organic carbon (CO2) with considerable potential.Keywords: Carbon sequestration, mangrove biomass, mangrove tourism, total vegetation carbonABSTRAKPenilaian mengenai potensi hutan mangrove di Kabupaten Kayong Utara dalam menyimpan karbon belum terpublikasi secara ilmiah sebelumnya, sehingga data ilmiah mengenai hal ini akan dapat mendukung upaya pelestarian dan pemanfaatan hutan mangrove di Kabupaten ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi potensi cadangan dan serapan karbon vegetasi mangrove di Kecamatan Sukadana, Kabupaten Kayong Utara. Estimasi biomassa, cadangan dan serapan karbon dilakukan dengan metode non-destruktif menggunakan plot-plot pengamatan pada beberapa lokasi pengambilan sampel yang dipilih secara purposif. Hasil estimasi total biomassa vegetasi dari Above-ground Biomass (AGB) dan Below-ground Biomass (BGB) dari tiap plot pengamatan berkisar antara 281,31 – 974,10 Mg ha−1 dan total cadangan karbon vegetasi (AGC dan BGC) berkisar antara 126,32 – 439,03 Mg C ha−1. Analisis total serapan CO2 vegetasi mangrove di lokasi berkisar antara 463,58 – 1611,24 Mg CO2 ha−1. Pemeliharaan kawasan hutan mangrove di lokasi dapat mencegah pelepasan karbon non organik (CO2) yang memiliki potensi cukup besar.Kata kunci: Biomasa mangrove, serapan karbon, total karbon vegetasi, wisata mangrove
