Abstract

Inclusive career management has become a strategic priority in higher education policies, yet its practical implementation remains uneven. This study aims to examine how inclusive career management policies are translated into practice within higher education institutions and to identify factors influencing their effectiveness. Using a qualitative multi-site case study approach, data were collected from career center managers, faculty members, and students across several public and private universities through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and observational data. The findings reveal three key patterns. First, institutional policies emphasizing inclusivity are largely implemented at an administrative level, with limited responsiveness to the concrete needs of students with disabilities and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Second, career guidance services predominantly adopt standardized models, although emerging practices show a gradual shift toward personalized and competency-based approaches. Third, universities demonstrating effective inclusive career management exhibit strong cross-stakeholder collaboration involving career centers, academic units, industry partners, and government agencies. This study contributes empirical evidence on the policy–practice gap in inclusive career management and highlights collaborative governance as a critical enabler. The findings suggest the need for data-driven personalization and integrated stakeholder engagement to ensure equitable career development outcomes in higher education.

Abstract

The recruitment of teaching staff in Islamic boarding schools is a phenomenon that has unique characteristics and differs from recruitment practices in general educational institutions. This study aims to examine pesantren-based recruitment management at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, particularly in integrating academic competence with pesantren values and traditions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that the recruitment process at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid has a crucial characteristic, namely, it begins with the identification of human resource needs tailored to the activities of the Islamic boarding school, followed by a multi-stage selection process that emphasizes mastery of furudul ainiyah and the Qur'an. The final decision-making process involves the central role of the kiai and pesantren leaders, as well as considering family approval as a form of moral accountability. Recruitment is also integrated with orientation and tiered training programs, such as Student Care Management (MPS), guardianship training, and management training, as a means of internalizing pesantren values. This study confirms that pesantren-based recruitment is a holistic value-based system that functions strategically in maintaining the identity of pesantren while improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Historically Islamic Education has formulated two currents of thought which both take different forms either from the aspect of material, educational system, as well as in the institutional form. The two models are 1). models of Islamic education that has traditionalist pattern (easting) which in its development more emphasis on doctrinal-normative tend exclusive-apologetic . 2). Modernist Islamic education model (Western) which then in its development is considered losing its transcendent spirits. The emergence of current thinking on the duality model of Western-style Islamic education can not be denied as a result of the heat of the globalization and information era.Based on this condition, it takes a strong foundation for the study of the implementation of Islamic education in the form of integrative epistemology. Epistemology results logical consequences in the form of eliminating a paradigm of dichotomy between religious and general science, changes patterns of indoctrinated Islamic education into participatory patterns between teacher and pupil, substitutes ideological paradigm into a scientific paradigm which is based on the revelations of Allah, reconstructs secular and free spiritual values curriculum into curriculum based on monotheism, and change the approach from a theoretical or conceptual approach to the contextual approach.
