Abstract

Desa Sungai Nibung memiliki ekosistem mangrove dengan keanekaragaman jenis mangrove yang tinggi. Desa ini memiliki kurang lebih 18 spesies mangrove yang berbeda. Mangrove ini perlu dilestarikan dengan menjaga ekosistem dan lingkungan dan penanaman. Penanaman mangrove dapat dimulai dengan penyemaian anakan mangrove. Penyemaian dilakukan dengan menanam propagul dari tiap jenis mangrove dan ditanam dengan media tanah dari tempat asalnya dengan menggunakan polybag. Polybag umumnya terbuat dari plastik jenis polietilena yang non-degradable. Sifatnya yang sulit terurai akan menjadi sampah plastik yang merusak lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, polybag yang ramah lingkungan dibutuhkan sebagai wadah penanaman propagul mangrove. Polybag ramah lingkungan dapat dibuat dari daun nipah yang dikeringkan. Nipah ditemukan hampir di semua daerah di Desa Sungai Nibung. Daunnya belum dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat, padahal daun ini sangat mudah untuk diolah dan digunakan sebagai kerajinan tangan. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ke mahasiswa dan masyarakat setempat untuk memanfaatkan daun nipah sebagai polybag ecofriendly perlu dilakukan. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk mengedukasi mahasiswa dan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan potensi lokal daun nipah sebagai polybag ramah lingkungan dan pentingnya pelestarian mangrove. Pelatihan ini melibatkan mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Kelautan dan mitra masyarakat Desa Sungai Nibung sebanyak 15 orang. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, edukasi, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung pembuatan anyaman daun nipah. Hasilnya, peserta mampu memahami manfaat daun nipah dan terampil menganyam menjadi polybag ecofriendly. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya mendukung konservasi mangrove, tetapi juga memberdayakan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan potensi lokal berkelanjutan.

Abstract

A common problem faced by coastal communities is the lack of clean water kamislot. This issue also occurs in the coastal area of Sungai Nibung Village, Teluk Pakedai District, Kubu Raya Regency. The community relies on dug well water; however, this water is yellowish, murky, and has an iron odor. This activity, in Community Service (PKM), aims to collect data on the condition of water and existing clean water fasilities and infrastructure, and offer treatment solutions that consider the current situation. The method was carried out through field surveys, raw water sampling, simple water testing (pH, salinity, and coagulation-flocculation tests), and observation of clean water supporting facilities. High levels of in the water can be reduced through coagulation-flocculation using soda ash and PAC to precipitate the iron. If the sedimentation stage is skipped, the workload of the filters in te available facilities becomes heavier. One applicable solution for the community is to add aeration and sedimentation tanks to oxidize and precipitate the iron.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos epifauna serta kondisi parameter lingkungan di kawasan ekowisata Pantai Tanjung Burung, Kabupaten Mempawah. Sampel diambil pada empat stasiun menggunakan metode purposive random sampling. Pengambilan sampel makrozoobentos menggunakan coring. Identifikasi spesies dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Kelautan, FMIPA UNTAN. Hasil identifikasi makrozoobentos ditemukan 14 spesies, 13 genus, 11 famili, 8 ordo dan 3 kelas. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H') berkisar 0,4958–1,8462 (rendah hingga sedang), indeks dominansi (D) berkisar antara 0,1735 – 0,7486 (rendah – tinggi), dan indeks keseragaman (E) berkisar antara 0,3576 – 0,9487 (rendah – tinggi). Parameter lingkungan menunjukkan suhu tanah 29,4–31,9°C, pH 7,60–8,02 dan salinitas 27–29,4 ppt. Fraksi tanah didominasi liat dan debu. Kondisi ini menunjukkan lingkungan masih mendukung kehidupan makrozoobenthos.

Abstract

Mangrove forests provide essential ecological and economic services; however, increasing human activities and natural disturbances have led to widespread degradation, highlighting the need for effective rehabilitation efforts. This study evaluated the success of mangrove rehabilitation in the concession area of PT Kandelia Alam, Kubu Raya Regency, Indonesia, using indicators of survival rate, plant height, leaf number, and environmental conditions. Data were collected under three site conditions (flooded, flowing-water, and unflooded areas) across two observation stations, each consisting of three measurement plots. Each plot measured 20 × 50 m and contained a 20 × 20 m subplot representing 100 individual plants, with observations conducted up to T₀ + 9. The results indicated that rehabilitation success at Stations I and II was moderate, with survival rates of 74.33% and 72.17%, respectively. Average plant heights were 50.60 cm at Station I and 53.66 cm at Station II, with an average of five leaves per individual at both stations. The Rhizophora  mucronata and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza species exhibited better adaptability in flowing-water and unflooded areas, whereas the Rhizophora apiculata species showed lower survival rates, particularly under flooded conditions. Environmental parameters at both stations were generally within suitable ranges for mangrove growth, including salinity of approximately 22 ppt, water temperature of 28°C, water pH of 7, soil temperature of 30–31°C, soil pH of 5.5, and substrates dominated by silty clay and silt. These findings suggest that while survival rates indicate moderate rehabilitation success, vegetative growth remains suboptimal, emphasizing the importance of site–species matching, hydrological suitability, and early-stage maintenance to enhance long-term mangrove rehabilitation outcomes.

Abstract

Desa Dabong terletak di Kecamatan Kubu, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat dengan luas wilayah ± 9.815 ha. Muara perairan sebagai pertemuan air sungai dan laut memiliki produktivitas tinggi serta menjadi habitat penting bagi berbagai organisme akuatik, termasuk bivalvia. Bivalvia termasuk ke dalam kelas moluska yang bercangkang umumnya hidup sebagai organisme bentik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur komunitas dan kondisi lingkungan yang memengaruhi keberlangsungan hidup bivalvia di kawasan muara Desa Dabong, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2025 menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan 5 stasiun yang berbeda dan masing-masing stasiun terdapat 10 plot dengan ukuran 1x1 m2. Struktur komunitas bivalvia yang ditemukan pada perairan muara Desa Dabong terdiri dari 4 spesies yaitu, Tegillarca granosa, Quidnipagus palatam, Semele cordiformis dan Meretrix meretrix. Nilai kepadatan bivalvia berada pada kisaran rentang 1,6-6,3 ind/m2. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H’) berada pada rentang (0-1,01), indeks keseragaman (E) (0-0,98), indeks dominansi (C) (0,38-1). Parameter lingkungan di kawasan perairan muara Desa Dabong menghasilkan nilai yang tergolong optimal bagi kehidupan bivalvia.

Abstract

Tanah ultisol yang mendominasi wilayah Kalimantan Barat (64,83%) menghadapi kendala kesuburan utama berupa pH sangat masam dan kandungan kalium yang tersedia rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas amelioran Turbinaria sp. segar dan fermentasi dalam meningkatkan kandungan kalium dan memperbaiki pH tanah ultisol. Rancangan Acak Lengkap diterapkan dengan tiga perlakuan: kontrol tanpa amelioran (T₀), aplikasi 100 g/kg Turbinaria sp. segar (T₁), dan aplikasi 100 mL/kg Turbinaria sp. fermentasi menggunakan EM4 selama tujuh hari (T₂), masing-masing lima ulangan. Analisis kalium menggunakan ICP-OES Agilent 5900 pada panjang gelombang 767 nm dan pH diukur dengan pH meter digital secara in situ pada hari ke-3, 7, 10, dan 14. Hasil menunjukkan perlakuan fermentasi (T₂) memberikan kandungan kalium tertinggi sebesar 0,33 cmol/kg pada hari ke-7, meningkat 65% dibandingkan kontrol (0,20 cmol/kg), sedangkan perlakuan segar (T₁) meningkat 50% (0,30 cmol/kg). pH tanah perlakuan segar mencapai nilai tertinggi 7,00 pada hari ke-10, sementara perlakuan fermentasi dan kontrol mengalami fluktuasi lebih moderat. Uji ANOVA menunjukkan pengaruh sangat nyata aplikasi amelioran terhadap kandungan kalium (F-hitung = 52,18; p < 0,001). Uji Duncan mengonfirmasi hierarki T₂ > T₁ > T₀ (p < 0,05). Turbinaria sp. fermentasi terbukti efektif sebagai amelioran organik untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan kalium pada tanah ultisol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh aplikasi biofertilizer berbasis Padina sp. terhadap ketersediaan kalium (K) pada tanah ultisol. Tiga perlakuan digunakan, yaitu tanpa aplikasi Padina sp. (P0), Padina sp. segar (P1), dan Padina sp. fermentasi (P2), masing-masing dengan lima ulangan. Analisis kandungan K dilakukan pada hari ke-3, 7, 10, dan 14 menggunakan ICP-OES. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan Padina sp. fermentasi memberikan peningkatan K tertinggi yaitu sebesar 0,31 cmol/kg. Proses fermentasi mempercepat dekomposisi biomassa dan pelepasan K sehingga ketersediaan unsur tersebut dalam tanah meningkat lebih cepat. Meskipun terjadi sedikit penurunan pada akhir pengamatan, nilai K pada perlakuan fermentasi tetap lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Uji ANOVA satu arah menunjukkan pengaruh nyata (p < 0,01) pada nilai K tanah ultisol. Dengan demikian, Padina sp. fermentasi berpotensi sebagai biofertilizer alami untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan K pada tanah ultisol.

Abstract

The coastal area of Desa Sungai Nibung is a conservation area with high biodiversity. This area has been used for various activities, such as capture and aquaculture fisheries, shipping traffic, and tourism. These activities could affect the waters, ecosystems, and biodiversity condition. Water quality is determined by several parameters, which one of the bioindicators is microalgae. The presence of certain microalgae contributes to the change in the color of the water which indicates the presence of HABS phenomenon. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the composition of microalgae in the waters of Desa Sungai Nibung. Water samples were taken by purposive sampling method in 5 stations with different environmental characteristics. Each station was taken surface water using a plankton net. Microalgae in the samples were then observed with a microscope and their abundance was calculated. The composition of microalgae consisted of 22 genera, belonging to Bacillariophyceae (14 genera), Dinophyceae (7 genera), and Chlorophyceae (1 genus). The Bacillariophyceae dominated the waters with a percentage of 63.66%. Microalgae abundance ranged from 3.94-7,329.25 ind/L with oligotrophic and mesotrophic categories. The diversity index was low to medium (0.74-1.78), Evenness index was low to medium (0.31-0.66), and dominance index was low to high (0.24-0.74).

Abstract

Paloh District is a turtle conservation area designated by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. This conservation area is managed by local community groups and the WWF-Indonesia Foundation under the authority of the West Kalimantan Province Maritime and Fisheries Service. Turtles are protected biota because of their endangered status. However, the community, especially local residents, do not yet have awareness of the importance of protecting this biota and also maintaining the balance of the surrounding ecosystem. Several cases occurred in Paloh, namely poaching for turtle eggs, degradation of turtle nesting beach habitat and marine debris pollution. Therefore, socialization and education on turtle conservation needs to be carried out, especially in the Paloh turtle conservation area. Activity participants are pupils, students and the community. The education and socalization provided includes the types of turtles, their conservation status and the protection efforts that can be taken. The aim of this community services was provided awareness for the community so that they participate in efforts to protect turtles and their habitat. Participants were very enthusiastic in taking part in the entire series of activities. There were five (5) participants who answered the questions correctly and received gifts from the organizing committee.

Abstract

Paloh District is a coastal area which directly borders to Sarawak (Malaysia) and the Natuna Sea. This area has the potential for marine and coastal resources, such as mangrove ecosystems, coral reefs and turtles, so it has been designated as one of the conservation areas in West Kalimantan. To date, in the management of KKP3K Paloh, there are still many challenges, one of them is plastic waste contamination. Plastic waste is a global and very complex problem, because it can have a negative impact on biota, ecosystems and human health. The results of a report from BKSDA in collaboration with the WWF-Indonesia Foundation, found that 21 young turtles were died on Paloh Beach, West Kalimantan due to plastic waste was found in their digestive tract. Plastic accumulation in the aquatic environment occurs when the rate of input of plastic pollution into an area exceeds the rate of natural removal processes. Therefore, it is needed an action to reduce the amount of plastic waste accumulated in coastal and marine areas. This activity aimed to reduce the amount of plastic waste on Sungai Belacan Beach, Paloh District, West Kalimantan. Apart from that, this activity was an effort to strengthen the management strategy for the Coastal and Small Islands Conservation Area (KKP3K) in Paloh, West Kalimantan. Community Service Activities were carried out at Sungai Belacan Beach. The results found the waste types consisting of plastic bottles, glass bottles, medicine bottles, drink cups/packaging, food and beauty product packaging, stereofoam, plastic bags and ropes, fishermen's fishing gear, and wood. Plastic waste has the highest percentage (95%), then wood waste (3%), and other types of waste (2%).
