Abstract

Desa Sungai Nyirih, as one of the coastal villages in Jawai District, West Kalimantan, has the potential for a mangrove ecosystem with a diversity of aquatic biota, including bivalves. Most of the coastal communities in West Kalimantan catch and consume shellfish because it contains high nutrients. Therefore, shellfish can be an alternative source of animal protein. The aim of the study was to identify the genus of bivalves in the mangrove area of Desa Sungai Nyirih, Jawai District, West Kalimantan. The collection of bivalves was carried out using the exploratory method, as many as ±5 individuals of each genus were collected and all genera of bivalves were identified. The results showed that there were two genera found, such as the cockle (Geloina expansa) and the blood clam (Tegillarca nodifera).

Abstract

Plastic waste has become a national and international issue. Plastic waste will degrade into smaller sizes, such as microplastics. Microplastic contamination can occur in coastal and marine areas which can have a negative impact on the environment, disrupting the balance of the ecosystem and aquatic biota. Sungai Jebung located in the coastal area of Desa Sungai Nibung, has the potential to microplastic pollution. This research aims to identify the type, density and type of polymer of microplastics in Sungai Jebung, Desa Sungai Nibung, West Kalimantan. Water sampling was carried out at three stations with two repetitions. Identification of microplastic types was carried out using a binocular microscope and polymer analysis was done using FTIR. The types of microplastics found in the water samples consisted of films, fibers, fragments and pellets. Film and fiber have a higher percentage compared to other types. The average total density of microplastics was 3,188.94 particles/L. The types of polymers found include polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), and polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE).

Paloh, one of West Kalimantan's conservation areas, has a high biodiversity of marine resources, including seaweed. Seaweed has an important ecological role, such as increasing primary productivity, providing dissolved oxygen, as a food source, and as a habitat for several aquatic organisms. In addition, seaweed contains various bioactive compounds that have the potential to be used in various industrial fields. This research aimed to identify the variety of seaweed in the waters of Pantai Tanjung Api, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. Based on the abundance of seaweed, the sampling site was chosen. A quadratic transect measuring 10x10 m2 was used for the collection. Four seaweed genera were discovered, including Acetabularia, Ulva, Padina, and Sargassum. Ulvophyceae and Phaeophyceae had the same percentage contribution. The species abundance varied between 1.04-26.75 ind/m2, where Padina had the highest value. Paloh has a low level of seaweed diversity, high uniformity, and a low dominance index.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan dan pola distribusi kerang kima (Tridacnidae) di perairan timur Pulau Penata Besar, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari hingga Juli 2025 di tiga stasiun dengan karakteristik lingkungan berbeda, menggunakan metode belt transect sepanjang 50 meter dan lima plot pengamatan berukuran 10 × 10 meter pada masing-masing stasiun. Analisis kepadatan dihitung berdasarkan jumlah individu per satuan luas, sedangkan pola distribusi dianalisis menggunakan Indeks Morisita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua spesies kima, yaitu Tridacna crocea dan Tridacna squamosa, dengan T. crocea sebagai spesies dominan. Kepadatan tertinggi T. crocea ditemukan di Stasiun II sebesar 0,284 ind/m ², sedangkan T. squamosa memiliki kepadatan sangat rendah dan tidak merata. Pola distribusi T. crocea di semua stasiun bersifat mengelompok dengan nilai Indeks Morisita (Ip) berkisar antara 0,59492"“0,60317. Parameter perairan seperti suhu (28,83"“29,73 °C), salinitas (32,23"“33,20 ppt), dan kedalaman (1,3"“2,9 m) berada dalam kisaran optimal untuk kehidupan kima, namun kecepatan arus yang rendah (0,05"“0,06 m/s) dapat menjadi faktor pembatas. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya perlindungan habitat dan pengelolaan berbasis ekosistem dalam upaya konservasi kima, serta perlunya pelibatan masyarakat lokal dalam strategi konservasi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Sungai Nibung Village is a KKPP3K (Coastal Waters and Small Islands Conservation Area) in Kubu Raya District. This community features an abundance of diverse natural resources, such as crab, fish, shrimp, squid, octopus, and finless dolphins. This indigenous biota is sustained by fertility and high water quality. Water fertility reveals high nutrient concentration and identifies phytoplankton as primary producers. Water contains nutrients in the form of nitrates and phosphates. Phytoplankton and other aquatic species require these nutrients to survive. The concentration of chlorophyll-a, the primary pigment of phytoplankton, which has a role in photosynthesis, can also be used to estimate the trophic state of waterways. The fertility of Sungai Nibung Village waters in the sea (Station I and II), estuary (Station III), and river (Station IV and V) has been assessed. Nitrate and phosphate levels in water samples were assessed in line with SNI 06-2480-1991 and SNI 06-6989.31.2005, respectively. The chlorophyll-a was evaluated using the trichromatic method with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 664, 647, and 630 nm. Sungai Nibung Village's waters include 0.9−1.5 mg/L nitrate and 2.06−2.19 mg/L phosphate. Chlorophyll-a levels range from 2−5 μg/L, placing them in the low category. Abstract

Acaudina molpadioides was found along the coast of Paloh, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan in recent months. This sea cucumber known as one of the typical foods of the coastal community of Karimun. This species has similarities with Paracaudina sp. belonging to the Caudinidae family. Proximate content, essential minerals and heavy metal contamination have never been carried out on A. molpadioides from Paloh waters. Nutrition in this biota will varies in different places. It is due to different environmental influences in terms of physical and chemical parameters. Proximate analysis were carried out. They were content of water, ash, protein and fat. The essential minerals analyzed from the samples were zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Heavy metal contamination of Pb and Cd was also measured by AAS. Moisture, ash, fat and protein content of A. molpadioides were 36.23%; 7.61%; 0.004% and 3.35% respectively. The essential minerals detected in A. molpadioides were Zn (0.054 ppm), Fe (3.35 ppm) and Mn (0.150). Heavy metal contamination of Pb and Cd was not detected from A. molpadioides samples.

Abstract

Desa Jeruju Besar memiliki luas kawasan hutan 1.980,80 ha dengan luas kawasan mangrove sebesar 28,812 ha. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas mangrove di kawasan mangrove Desa Jeruju Besar, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2025 dengan metode sistematik untuk menentukan titik Stasiun. Pengamatan dilakukan pada 3 Stasiun, setiap Stasiun terdapat 3 plot dengan ukuran 10×10 m mengikuti garis transek yang ditempatkan sejajar dengan jarak antar plot 10 m. Terdapat 4 spesies mangrove yang ditemukan di kawasan mangrove Desa Jeruju Besar terdiri dari Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata dan Nypa fruticans. Avicennia alba merupakan spesies dengan nilai INP tertinggi pada semua tingkatan pertumbuhan. Nilai keanekaragaman mangrove diseluruh Stasiun tergolong rendah (H"™ < 10), yang mengindikasikan rendahnya variasi jenis pada komunitas mangrove. Kerapatan mangrove Nypa fruticans tergolong padat, hal ini menunjukkan ekosistem mangrove di Desa Jeruju Besar masih didominasi oleh beberapa spesies tertentu dengan distribusi yang belum merata.

Abstract

Pulau Temajo yang terletak di Kabupaten Mempawah merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata bahari yang memiliki kerentanan terhadap abrasi. Oleh karena itu, identifikasi tingkat kerawanan perlu dilakukan sebagai langkah mitigasi sesuai amanat Undang-Undang No. 24 Tahun 2007 dan Peraturan BNPB No. 02 Tahun 2012. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis tingkat kerawanan abrasi berdasarkan tutupan vegetasi pantai menggunakan citra satelit Landsat-8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) dengan resolusi spasial 30 m (perekaman tahun 2021), yang diolah melalui indeks NDVI. Sebanyak 79 segmen pantai dengan jarak ~200 m dianalisis, kemudian hasil NDVI diintegrasikan ke dalam skoring BNPB. Hasil menunjukkan nilai NDVI 0,0598"“0,4863 dengan distribusi tutupan rendah pada 23 segmen, sedang 35 segmen, dan tinggi 21 segmen. Berdasarkan skoring BNPB, tingkat kerawanan abrasi didominasi kategori rendah dengan 75 segmen (94,94%), sedangkan 4 segmen (5,06%) kategori sedang, dan tidak ada kategori tinggi. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan mangrove rapat dan substrat berlumpur yang mampu meredam energi gelombang. Dengan demikian, Pulau Temajo secara umum memiliki tingkat kerawanan abrasi rendah, meskipun segmen dengan kerawanan sedang tetap memerlukan rehabilitasi vegetasi untuk menjaga keberlanjutan kawasan wisata bahari.

Abstract

Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat mempunyai total luasan area ekosistem mangrove mencapai 44.625,76 hektar. Ekosistem mangrove memiliki potensi besar sebagai sumber metabolit sekunder yang berperan penting dalam mekanisme adaptasi terhadap tekanan lingkungan. Kawasan ekowisata Borneo Bahari yang berada di Desa Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya merupakan area pesisir yang ditumbuhi oleh berbagai jenis mangrove seperti Acanthus ilicifolius, Avicennia marina, dan Sonneratia caseolaris. Namun, belum ada kajian mengenai kandungan metabolit sekunder pada mangrove di kawasan ekowisata Borneo Bahari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder pada daun Acanthus ilicifolius, Avicennia marina, dan Sonneratia caseolaris. Metabolit sekunder dari ketiga jenis mangrove diekstraksi dengan pelarut etanol menggunakan metode maserasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol A. ilcifolius mengandung flavonoid dan saponin. Mangrove A. marina mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, dan steroid. Jenis S. caseolaris menunjukkan ekstrak mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin, dan steroid. Temuan ini menjadi dasar awal dalam eksplorasi lebih lanjut seperti potensi bioaktivitas metabolit sekunder dari mangrove di wilayah tersebut.
