Abstract

Regional Students are a group of students who leave their hometown and will stay in an area for a certain period of time. Due to the differences in various aspects of life, regional students are expected to be able to adapt to their host environment. Regional Students who have successfully adapted during the overseas period will display resilient behavior when going through critical periods full of pressure and challenges. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between peer social support and the resilience attitudes of regional students in the city of Makassar. The participant of this research were 300 regional students in the city of Makassar. The scales used in this research are the Social Support Behavior SS-B and the Ego Resiliency Scale Revised ER 89-R. The sampling technique uses a non-probability sampling technique, namely convenience sampling. The analysis in this research used SPSS for Windows version 24. Hypothesis testing was carried out using Sperman Rank analysis with the results of an r-value of 0.266 and a p-value of 0.00 < 0.05, which means it is significant. This means that the higher the peer social support for regional students in the city of Makassar, the better the attitude of resilience among Regional Students. The implications of this research provide an overview of the relationship between peer social support and resilience among regional students in the city of Makassar and become the basis for universities to run a peer group program with the aim of getting students actively involved in both regional students and non-migrant students in the city of Makassar

Abstract

Konflik inerpersonal pada remaja merupakan salah satu tantangan yang sering dihadapi oleh remaja yang berada pada situasi rentan, seperti remaja binaan Lembaga Rumah Zakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan self-compassion sebagai strategi untuk meminimalisir terjadinya konflik pada remaja binaan Lembaga Rumah Zakat Makassar. Self-compassion, yang melibatkan sikap baik dan pengertian terhadap diri sendiri saat menghadapi kesulitan, dipilih sebagai salah satu strategi karena potensinya dalam meningkatkan regulasi emosi dan hubungan interpersonal. Program pengabdian ini dirancang dengan kombinasi sesi edukasi, latihan praktis, dan refleksi diri. Partisipan terdiri dari 21 remaja berusia 13-18 tahun yang merupakan binaan Lembaga Rumah Zakat. Hasil kegiatan mengindikasikan bahwa dengan menerapkan self-compassion dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meminimalisir konflik pada remaja binaan Lembaga Rumah Zakat, remaja merasa lebih mampu memahami dan merespon situasi konflik dengan cara yang lebih konstruktif.

Abstract

Sistem pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh siswa dapat diterapkan dalam beberapa cara, salah satu untuk meningkatkan system pembelajaran adalah dengan melakukan interaksi baik dengan sesama siswa dan guru. Keterampilan sosial yang digunakan meliputi komunikasi verbal dna non verbal, seperti bicara, gerakan, ekspresi wajah dan Bahasa tubuh. Siswa memiliki keterampilan sosial yang baik jika mereka memiliki pengetahuan tentang bagaimana berperilaku dalam sistuasi sosial dan memahami aturan tertulis dan tersirat ketika berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Siswa yang memiliki keterampilan sosial dapat berkomunikasi dengan jelas, tenang dan santun. Siswa belajar keterampilan sosial melalui pengalaman dengan teman sebaya dan isntruksi dari orang tua siswa.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the effect of neuroticism to phubbing behavior on college student. This study used quantitative method as an approach. The respondent that involved in this study are 150 college students (n=150, 40 men and 110 women), using accidental sampling as a sampling technique. This study used two instruments, they are neuroticism scale and phubbing scale that arrange as Likert scale. The neuroticism scale developed by researcher based on neuroticism aspect by McCrae dan Costa (α=0,932, and validity score range 0,369 – 0,782). The phubbing scale that is used in this study is an adaptation scale from Zulfikar, this scale developed based on two aspects from Karadağ, (α=0,892, and validity score range 0,380 – 0,702). The data of this study was analyzed use Ordinal Regression test with significance value 0,000 (p<0,05) and Nagelkerke value is 0,261 (H1 accepted). It means Neuroticism can affect phubbing behavior on college students at Makassar State University and the contribution of the effect is 26,1%. People with high neuroticism will cause excessive use of cell phones to reduce negative feelings, this excessive use of cell phones implicated to phubbing behavior appear and increase.

Abstract

Tren berbelanja online dapat memicu terjadinya online impulsive buying karena produk lebih mudah dijangkau dan dapat dilakukan di mana saja. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi online impulsive buying adalah faktor personal yaitu variety seeking karena timbulnya keinginan untuk mencari variasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara variety seeking dengan online impulsive buying pada wanita yang bekerja di Kota Makassar. Sampel berjumlah 102 responden yaitu wanita bekerja di Kota Makassar yang berusia minimal 15 tahun dan berbelanja online. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan dua instrumen penelitian yaitu skala variety seeking dan skala online impulsive buying. Uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis korelasi Spearman Rho. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara variety seeking dengan online impulsive buying pada wanita yang bekerja di Kota Makassar, r = 0,416 (p = 0,000).

Abstract

The aim of the research is is to investigate the influence of empathy, self-esteem, and intrapersonal peacefulness on the development of interpersonal communication skills in teachers engaged in guidance and counseling. The study's sample comprises guidance and counseling teachers who are currently employed at the junior high school and high school levels within the South Sulawesi region. The participant pool for this research consisted of 74 teachers, who were selected by accidental sampling. The present study uses four specific scales: the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES), the Self Personal Scale (SPS), and the Interpersonal Communication Scale (ICS). The presence of empathy and intrapersonal peacefulness has the potential to act as indicators for improving interpersonal communication abilities among guidance and counseling teachers in South Sulawesi. Other findings derived from the data analysis indicate that there were no statistically significant disparities observed in the duration of employment among guidance and counseling teachers across various factors, including empathy, self-esteem, intrapersonal peacefulness, and interpersonal communication. Significant disparities in levels of empathy have been identified between those identifying as female and male. Research has shown that female guidance and counseling teachers exhibit higher levels of empathy compared to their male colleagues within the same professional field. This study is the initial research in Indonesia that aims to uncover the communication abilities of guidance and counseling teachers, focusing on their individual levels of peacefulness, empathy, and self-esteem. With an emphasis on peacefulness, it is anticipated that this research will serve as a foundation for the development of new training programs designed to enhance the communication abilities of guidance and counseling teachers.

Abstract

Educational opportunities are part of the culture of peace, which includes many areas of the community's well-being. This study comes up with a new way to measure school peace culture called the School Peace Culture Scale (SPCS). The researcher made the tool by evaluating it theoretically, checking its content validity, followed by doing a confirmatory study to check its internal and external psychometrics. The people who answered were in charge of or led Vocational High Schools in Makassar. There were 63 of them, 24 men and 39 women. The Winstep Rasch Model tool is used to analyze the data. The SPCS has been carefully checked for validity, and 34 items that are particularly good at measuring factors have been found. The results indicate a reliability value of 0.91 and item reliability of 0.82. The study also proved that the proposed SPCS questionnaire can measure the level of peace in schools. Furthermore, the research has confirmed that the items in the proposed SPCS questionnaire effectively assess the extent to which peace is implemented in schools. These results provide a foundation for further investigation. The questionnaire can help determine the extent to which a peaceful culture has been established in schools. Furthermore, the SPCS concept and questionnaire could be valuable tools for assessing schools that require training in promoting peaceful education.

Abstract

Manusia merupakan makhluk sosial yang tidak lepas dari interaksi bersama lingkungannya. Dalam lingkungan kerja, individu juga akan saling bahu membahu untuk menyelesaikan suatu pekerjaan agar pekerjaan yang dihadapi dapat terselesaikan sesuai dengan tujuan suatu perusahaan. Dalam dasar itu, Teamwork berperan penting sebagai satu kesatuan yang tidak dapat terpisahkan. Individu membentuk kelompok kecil atau besar sesuai dengan tujuan pekerjaannya agar memudahkan tercapainya suatu target yang telah ditetapkan. Team work adalah suatu penggambaran antara dua individu atau lebih dalam prosesnya berkomunikasi dan mencapai kesepakatan bersama. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan Psikoedukasi yang berbasis Seminar dengan pemberian materi kepada pegawai UPT BKD Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman upaya membangun super tim dalam lingkungan pekerjaan. Kegiatan ini berlangsung pada tanggal 9 Desember 2024 dan diikuti oleh 24 pegawai yang ada di lingkungan BKD Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan Paired Sample T-Test yang menunjukkan angka 0.001 dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada peserta seminar sebelum dan setelah diberikan Psikoedukasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki hubungan antara keyakinan romantis dan gaya kelekatan romantis pada individu yang tanpa sadar menjadi pihak ketiga dalam perselingkuhan. Keyakinan romantis merupakan sistem kepercayaan seseorang tentang hubungan romantis ideal, sementara gaya kelekatan romantis adalah pola perilaku dan reaksi emosional dalam membangun intimasi dengan pasangan. Studi menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan 79 partisipan yang dipilih melalui teknik accidental sampling. Seluruh partisipan memiliki pengalaman sebagai pihak ketiga yang tidak mengetahui status sebenarnya dari pasangan mereka. Analisis chi square menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh signifikan antara keyakinan romantis dan gaya kelekatan romantis (p = 0,902; p > 0,05). Temuan ini menyarankan bahwa intervensi yang berfokus pada modifikasi keyakinan romantis mungkin kurang efektif untuk mengubah pola kelekatan romantis pada korban perselingkuhan. Hasil penelitian dapat diaplikasikan dalam pengembangan konseling, program edukasi hubungan sehat, dan strategi penanganan trauma relasional. Abstract

Academic self-handicapping behaviors exhibit complex relationships with psychological constructs, particularly fear of failure and self-compassion. This investigation examined the differential effects of fear of failure (X₁) and self-compassion (X₂) on self-handicapping tendencies (Y) among university students. The study comprised 398 participants (n=398; 104 males, 294 females) enrolled across five state universities in Makassar, recruited through accidental sampling methodology. Assessment instruments included the Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory Long-Form (modified), the Self-Handicapping Scale (modified), and the Indonesian adaptation of the Self-Compassion Scale. Utilizing ordinal regression analysis, the results revealed a significant positive association between fear of failure and self-handicapping (b = 0.058, p less than 0.001), while self-compassion demonstrated a significant negative relationship (b = -0.045, p less than 0.001). The combined predictive model accounted for 22.4% of the variance in self-handicapping behaviors (Nagelkerke R² = 0.224). These findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of self-handicapping mechanisms and hold practical implications for developing targeted interventions within university student support services. The results may inform the design and implementation of evidence-based training programs addressing maladaptive academic behaviors among university students.
