Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability and solvency on firm value in Islamic banks in Indonesia. Firm value reflects investors’ perceptions of a company’s performance and future prospects, making it an important indicator in investment decision-making. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the financial statements of Islamic banks in Indonesia. Multiple linear regression analysis is applied to examine the effect of profitability and solvency, both partially and simultaneously, on firm value. The results show that profitability has a significant effect on firm value, indicating that the ability of Islamic banks to generate profits plays an important role in increasing investor confidence. Meanwhile, solvency also has a significant effect on firm value, suggesting that the banks’ ability to meet their financial obligations is a key consideration in firm valuation. Simultaneously, profitability and solvency have a significant effect on firm value in Islamic banks in Indonesia. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of Islamic banking financial studies and to serve as a reference for management and investors in making informed decisions. Keywords : Profitability, Solvency, Firm Value, Islamic Banks.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for revitalizing the economic thought of Prof. Dr. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo as a strategic roadmap toward Indonesia’s economic sovereignty in the digital and globalization era. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this study systematically examines primary and secondary literature on Sumitro’s thought, development theory, and contemporary digital economic dynamics through content analysis. The findings introduce the concept of “Digital Economic Nationalism” as an adaptation of Sumitro’s development trilogy economic growth, national stability, and equitable development into the digital context, operationalized through the “Digital Gotong Royong Economy” model. This model integrates rural digital infrastructure, local economic platforms, digital cooperatives, sustainable financing, and the protection of national economic value. The results demonstrate that Sumitro’s intellectual legacy remains relevant and offers a theoretical and practical alternative to the dominant neoliberal model in the digital economy, while opening new avenues for nationally grounded digital political economy studies.

Abstract

Business competition in the banking sector is now increasingly fierce, both in domestic and international markets. The quality of customer service is the main key for banking companies to maintain customer trust and satisfaction. In providing optimal service, the bank integrates technology through Mobile Banking (m-banking) services to meet customer needs. This research aims to evaluate the influence of various aspects of m-banking, such as system security, company credibility, ease of use, and speed on customer satisfaction at Bank Syariah Indonesia KC Mamuju. Quantitative research methods were used by collecting data through questionnaires to 94 respondents. The research results show that the variables of system security, company credibility, and m-banking speed positively influence customer satisfaction, with a joint influence reaching 56.4%. Multiple linear regression analysis shows that system security (X1), company credibility (X3), and speed (X4) have a significant positive influence on customer satisfaction (Y). The resulting regression equation is Y = 2.624 + 0.227 X1 + 0.211 X3 + 0.407 X4 + e. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the quality of m-banking services, the greater customer satisfaction at Bank Syariah Indonesia KC Mamuju will increase. However, there were 2% complaints, indicating that improvements are still needed to improve the m-banking user experience.

Abstract

Dividend policy is one of the strategic decisions in financial management that determines the distribution of corporate profits to shareholders. In Islamic banking, dividend policy is not merely related to financial considerations but must also reflect the principles of justice and public welfare in accordance with the objectives of Maqasid al-Shariah. However, dividend policies in Islamic banking are still predominantly assessed from a shareholder value perspective, while the issue of equitable profit distribution among stakeholders has received limited attention. This study aims to analyze the orientation of dividend policy in Islamic banking, its implications for stakeholder welfare, and the relevance of Maqasid al-Shariah as a framework for evaluating the fairness of profit distribution. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various literature sources, including scholarly journal articles, academic books, industry reports, and relevant documents, and were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings indicate that dividend policy in Islamic banking remains predominantly oriented toward shareholder value, positioning shareholders as the primary beneficiaries of profit distribution. Meanwhile, stakeholder theory and the Maqasid al-Shariah perspective emphasize the importance of a more equitable distribution of benefits among all parties contributing to corporate value creation. The study finds that the principles of ?if? al-m?l (protection of wealth), al-‘adl (justice), and ma?la?ah (public welfare) can serve as evaluative instruments to assess the extent to which dividend policy creates a balance between shareholder interests, stakeholder welfare, and corporate sustainability. As a theoretical contribution, this research proposes a Maqasid-Based Dividend Policy Framework as a dividend policy model that integrates financial objectives with Shariah objectives in Islamic banking. The proposed framework also provides practical implications for Islamic banking institutions in designing dividend policies that are sustainable, equitable, and aligned with Shariah objectives as well as stakeholder welfare.

Abstract

The conventional financial system, which relies on interest-based instruments and rigid collateral requirements, often creates financial exclusion and liquidity vulnerability for grassroots communities and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to construct and analyze the effectiveness of the Islamic Financial System as an alternative architecture for strengthening the economic foundation of society in Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative approach through library research using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The analysis was conducted on 25 reputable scientific articles published over the last ten years, focusing on the performance of Islamic financial instruments in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis of reputable scholarly literature, secondary data, and relevant regulations. The findings reveal that community economic empowerment can be optimally achieved through integrative governance of two main pillars: the Islamic commercial sector (al-tijari), which applies the principle of risk-and-reward sharing, and the social philanthropy sector (al-ijtima'i), which is based on productive Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf (ZISWAF). The synergy of this dual-pillar financial system, managed under the principles of transparency and accountability, is capable of promoting the structural transformation of underprivileged communities toward sustainable financial independence, thereby realizing distributive justice.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of Sharia financial technology (fintech) has created significant opportunities to enhance Islamic financial inclusion and support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, empirical evidence regarding the mechanisms through which Sharia fintech influences MSME development remains limited, particularly in regional contexts in Indonesia. This study examines the mediating role of Islamic financial inclusion in the relationship between Sharia fintech services and MSME development. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 100 MSME owners in Parepare City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that Sharia fintech has a positive and significant effect on Islamic financial inclusion and MSME development. Islamic financial inclusion also positively influences MSME development. Furthermore, Islamic financial inclusion partially mediates the relationship between Sharia fintech and MSME development, suggesting that the benefits of fintech adoption are strengthened through broader access to Sharia-compliant financial services. The structural model explains 50.1% of the variance in MSME development. These findings underscore the strategic role of Sharia fintech in fostering an inclusive Islamic financial ecosystem and promoting sustainable MSME growth. While the findings provide valuable insights into Islamic digital finance, they are based on MSMEs operating in Parepare City and should therefore be interpreted within this local context. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic digital finance by providing empirical evidence on the mediating role of Islamic financial inclusion and offers practical implications for policymakers, Islamic financial institutions, and fintech providers.
