Abstract

ABSTRACT Play is an essential activity in children’s lives that plays a significant role in stimulating various aspects of development, including creativity. However, in early childhood education (ECE) practices, children's creativity has not been optimally developed due to the limited use of engaging and varied learning media. This study aims to analyze the effect of using pictorial story media on the creativity of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Kuncup Harapan Kopang, Central Lombok. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model. Data were collected through observation as the primary technique, supported by documentation and interviews, and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in the average creativity score from 54.2 to 79.6, with a difference of 25.4 or 46.86%, and the calculated t-value (9.761) was higher than the t-table value (1.833) at a 5% significance level (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the use of pictorial story media has a significant effect on improving children's creativity. Therefore, pictorial story media can be considered an effective alternative learning strategy to enhance creativity in early childhood. ABSTRAK Bermain merupakan aktivitas penting dalam kehidupan anak yang berperan dalam menstimulasi berbagai aspek perkembangan, termasuk kreativitas. Namun, dalam praktik pembelajaran di PAUD, kreativitas anak belum berkembang secara optimal akibat keterbatasan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan variatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media cerita bergambar terhadap kreativitas anak usia 5–6 tahun di PAUD Kuncup Harapan Kopang, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu one group pretest-posttest. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi sebagai teknik utama yang didukung dokumentasi dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor kreativitas dari 54,2 menjadi 79,6 dengan selisih 25,4 atau sebesar 46,86%, serta diperoleh nilai t hitung (9,761) lebih besar dari t tabel (1,833) pada taraf signifikansi 5% (p < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media cerita bergambar berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kreativitas anak. Dengan demikian, media cerita bergambar dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kreativitas anak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a local culture-based role-play model in enhancing the social-emotional competence of early childhood learners. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design, the study involved children aged 5–6 years enrolled in early childhood education (ECE) institutions. The intervention was conducted over 6–8 weeks, consisting of 2–3 sessions per week using role-play scenarios derived from local folklore and cultural values. Social-emotional competence was measured using culturally adapted versions of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) and the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS). ANCOVA results revealed significant improvements in the treatment group compared to the control group, particularly in areas of empathy, emotional regulation, and prosocial behavior. The intervention’s effectiveness was reinforced by high fidelity of implementation and active involvement of teachers and parents. These findings underscore the potential of integrating local cultural elements into learning models as a culturally responsive strategy to foster social-emotional development and curriculum relevance in ECE settings. The study recommends national-level adoption of such programs through targeted teacher training and community-based curriculum design as part of a sustainable early childhood education framework.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has brought about significant transformations in the education system, including at the primary school level. However, the adoption of curricula in response to the digital era continues to face various complex structural and pedagogical challenges. This article aims to critically examine the main challenges faced by primary school curricula in the digital age, focusing on five key issues: the digital access gap, limited digital competence among teachers, curriculum inflexibility, psychosocial impacts on students, and the limitations of digital evaluation systems. This study employs a qualitative method with a systematic literature review approach, drawing upon Scopus-indexed articles relevant to the topic. The findings reveal that disparities in digital infrastructure, weak digital literacy among educators, and rigid curriculum structures are major obstacles to primary education transformation. Moreover, psychosocial impacts such as decreased learning motivation, social isolation, and emotional pressure emerge as serious issues that remain unaddressed in curriculum policy. The lack of inclusive and authentic assessment systems further exacerbates the misalignment between digital learning approaches and the assessments used. As a contribution, this article proposes policy recommendations that include curriculum reform based on flexibility and contextual relevance, strengthening teacher competencies in digital pedagogy, and developing holistic evaluation systems that prioritize student needs. Therefore, primary school curricula in the digital era should be designed not only to enhance technological access and efficiency but also to ensure equity, psychological well-being, and meaningful learning quality.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Self-confidence is an important aspect of early childhood social-emotional development that needs to be fostered from an early age through active and enjoyable learning processes. However, in reality, there are still children who lack the courage to perform, experience difficulties in interacting, and are unable to express themselves optimally during classroom activities. This study aimed to determine the effect of the role-playing method on the self-confidence of early childhood students at PAUD Al Hidayah Kopang in the 2019/2020 academic year. This study employed a quantitative approach with a simple experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 20 children selected as the research sample. Data were collected through observations of children’s self-confidence behaviors before and after the implementation of the role-playing method, while data analysis was conducted using the t-test. The findings revealed that the t-count value of 2.185 was higher than the t-table value of 2.103 at a 5% significance level with 19 degrees of freedom. These findings indicate that the role-playing method had a positive effect on improving children’s self-confidence, particularly in terms of communication skills, willingness to perform in front of the class, and interaction with peers. Therefore, the role-playing method can be considered an effective alternative learning strategy to support the optimal social-emotional development of early childhood learners. ABSTRAK Rasa percaya diri merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam perkembangan sosial-emosional anak usia dini yang perlu dikembangkan sejak dini melalui proses pembelajaran yang aktif dan menyenangkan. Namun, pada kenyataannya masih terdapat anak yang kurang berani tampil, sulit berinteraksi, dan belum mampu mengekspresikan diri secara optimal dalam kegiatan belajar di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode bermain peran terhadap rasa percaya diri anak usia dini di PAUD Al Hidayah Kopang Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen sederhana. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 20 anak yang dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi terhadap perilaku percaya diri anak sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode bermain peran, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji t (t-test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai thitung sebesar 2,185 lebih besar dibandingkan ttabel sebesar 2,103 pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan derajat kebebasan 19. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode bermain peran memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan rasa percaya diri anak, terutama dalam keberanian berkomunikasi, tampil di depan kelas, dan berinteraksi dengan teman sebaya. Dengan demikian, metode bermain peran dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan sosial-emosional anak usia dini secara lebih optimal.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Self-destructive behavior among students has become a psychological issue that requires serious attention because it may affect students’ emotional, social, and academic development at school. This phenomenon indicates the importance of guidance and counseling services that can help students transform negative thought patterns and behaviors into more rational and adaptive ones. This study aimed to determine the effect of Rational Emotive Therapy on students’ self-destructive behavior at SMPN 6 Mataram. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest model. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, involving 9 students selected from a population of 60 students who demonstrated high levels of self-destructive behavior. Research data were collected using questionnaires as the primary instrument, while observation, interviews, and documentation were used as supporting data collection methods. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test. The results showed that the calculated t-value of 6.074 was higher than the t-table value of 2.306 at the 5% significance level (6.074 > 2.306), indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of Rational Emotive Therapy was effective in reducing students’ tendencies toward self-destructive behavior through the development of more rational and positive thinking patterns. The implications of this study suggest that Rational Emotive Therapy can be utilized as an alternative guidance and counseling service to help students improve self-control and develop more adaptive behavioral adjustment within the school environment. ABSTRAK Perilaku self destructive pada siswa menjadi permasalahan psikologis yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian karena dapat berdampak pada kondisi emosional, sosial, dan perkembangan belajar siswa di sekolah. Fenomena ini menunjukkan pentingnya layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang mampu membantu siswa mengubah pola pikir dan perilaku negatif menjadi lebih rasional dan adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Rational Emotive Therapy terhadap perilaku self destructive siswa di SMPN 6 Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental melalui model one group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 9 siswa dari populasi 60 siswa yang memiliki tingkat perilaku self destructive tinggi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan angket sebagai instrumen utama, sedangkan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi digunakan sebagai data pendukung. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 6,074 lebih besar dibandingkan t tabel sebesar 2,306 pada taraf signifikansi 5% (6,074 > 2,306), sehingga hipotesis alternatif diterima. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Rational Emotive Therapy mampu membantu siswa mengurangi kecenderungan perilaku self destructive melalui perubahan pola pikir yang lebih rasional dan positif. Implikasi penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa Rational Emotive Therapy dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan kontrol diri dan penyesuaian perilaku yang lebih baik di lingkungan sekolah.
