Abstract

This research examines the changes and development of the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia, especially in the context of historical influences and the impact of globalization. Historically, the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia has undergone various transformations influenced by political, social, and educational policy developments. The role of globalization further accelerates this dynamic by bringing new challenges, such as the need to master communication skills that are more contextual and relevant to the demands of the modern world. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method and historical analysis. The data used is obtained from previous literature sources related to the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia, as well as from current education policies. The purpose of this study is to understand the pattern of Arabic curriculum transformation, the factors that influence it, and how globalization shapes the development of the curriculum in the future. The results show that the transformation of the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia is not only determined by internal dynamics such as local needs, but also by external influences such as global changes in education and technology. This transformation reflects an attempt to answer the challenges of globalization while maintaining existing traditional values.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the forms of linguistic errors in Arabic Book published by Tiga Serangkai in terms of graphology, syntax and morphology errors. Researchers used qualitative research method, with the techniques to collect data are observation and interview, and the data analysis techniqe is content analysis. This research found some errors in terms of syntax such as “marfuat, mansubat,  majrurat”, incompatibilities between “mubtada” and “khabar”, “fiil” and “fa'il”, “ism isyarah” and “musyar ilaih” and errors in “idhafah”. Some errors in terms of morphology such as in “wazn fiil” and “wazn ism”. In terms of graphology such as errors in writing “hamzah qatha”, changing letters, deleting letters, and adding letters. After conducting the research, it has found that errors in this book occurred because the author of the book had not read the book contents in detail, lack of supervision from the editor, and the limitation of time.

Abstract

The researcher chose this topic due to several issues in learning Arabic speaking skills: students face difficulties in learning Arabic, teaching focuses mainly on vocabulary, and teachers rarely use innovative methods. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Talking Stick method in improving speaking skills by comparing test results between students taught using role-play and those taught without the Talking Stick method. This quantitative research uses a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group using the Talking Stick method and a control group without it. The population consists of 80 ninth-grade students at Hidayaturrohman Tangerang Islamic Junior High School, with 40 students in each group. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and oral tests. Results show that the experimental group’s average score rose to 74.1, while the control group averaged only 9.95. The t-value (3.69) exceeded both the 5% (1.66) and 1% (2.37) significance levels, indicating the null hypothesis is rejected. Therefore, the Talking Stick method effectively enhances students’ speaking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penjelasan yang komprehensif mengenai berbagai pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian bahasa dan sastra, baik dari segi teoritis maupun praktis. Dalam kajian ini, dibahas berbagai pendekatan utama yang telah banyak diterapkan dalam dunia akademik dan penelitian, seperti pendekatan struktural yang fokus pada hubungan formal antarelemen bahasa, pendekatan fungsional yang menekankan fungsi komunikatif bahasa dalam konteks sosial, pendekatan interpretatif yang bertujuan memahami makna di balik teks, serta pendekatan historis yang menelusuri perkembangan dan evolusi bahasa atau karya sastra dari masa ke masa. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mencakup pendekatan psikologis yang memusatkan perhatian pada aspek kognitif dan afektif penggunaan bahasa, pendekatan feminisme yang menganalisis bahasa dan sastra dari perspektif kesetaraan gender dan representasi perempuan, pendekatan postkolonial yang membongkar relasi kuasa dalam teks antara dunia penjajah dan terjajah, serta pendekatan ekritik yang mengkaji relasi antara teks sastra dan lingkungan hidup. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang berorientasi pada pemahaman mendalam terhadap teori dan konsep melalui studi pustaka. Sumber data diperoleh dari berbagai literatur ilmiah, jurnal akademik, buku referensi utama, dan karya-karya terkini yang relevan dengan kajian linguistik dan sastra. Metode ini dipilih karena mampu mengakomodasi keragaman pendekatan yang bersifat multidisipliner serta memberikan ruang interpretasi yang luas terhadap data kajian. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini tidak hanya mendeskripsikan pendekatan-pendekatan tersebut, tetapi juga mengevaluasi kekuatan dan keterbatasannya dalam memahami objek kajian kebahasaan dan kesastraan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan pendekatan yang tepat sangat menentukan dalam mengarahkan sudut pandang dan hasil analisis terhadap teks-teks bahasa dan sastra. Setiap pendekatan memiliki karakteristik, alat analisis, dan asumsi dasar yang unik, sehingga pemilihan pendekatan harus disesuaikan dengan tujuan, jenis data, dan konteks penelitian. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan-pendekatan tersebut tidak bersifat saling eksklusif, namun justru dapat saling melengkapi apabila dikombinasikan secara tepat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang berarti dalam pengembangan keilmuan di bidang linguistik dan sastra, serta menjadi referensi penting bagi para peneliti, pengajar, dan mahasiswa dalam merancang dan melaksanakan penelitian yang berlandaskan pendekatan ilmiah yang relevan dan kontekstual.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigates Rithā’ al-Andalus by Abū al-Baqā’ al-Rundī through the semiotic lens of Charles Sanders Peirce to examine how poetic language communicates historical grief, spiritual identity, and collective memory. Composed in 1267 CE, the elegy laments the fall of Muslim Andalusia following the Christian reconquest. Beyond a personal outcry, the poem serves as a layered cultural document, encoding ideological resistance and loss through complex sign systems rooted in Islamic tradition and Andalusian history. The primary objective of this research is to analyze how Rithā’ al-Andalus employs Peirce’s triadic model of signs—icon, index, and symbol—to articulate themes of displacement, decline, and spiritual anguish. The study seeks to identify each type of sign within the poem and interpret its function in representing communal trauma and religious dislocation. This research adopts a qualitative interpretive approach. The original Arabic text is subjected to close reading, with poetic expressions classified based on Peircean categories. Each sign is interpreted within its historical, religious, and literary context, drawing on interdisciplinary scholarship in Islamic studies, medieval history, and Arabic poetics. The findings demonstrate that iconic signs evoke vivid visualizations of ruin and sorrow; indexical signs register the traces of temporal loss and cultural fracture; and symbolic signs encapsulate abstract notions of divine will, imperial collapse, and faith. Together, these elements construct a semiotic grammar of mourning. Ultimately, the study concludes that Rithā’ al-Andalus functions as more than a poetic elegy—it emerges as a symbolic archive of Andalusia’s fall and a resilient expression of Islamic identity through semiotic discourse.

Abstract

Abstrac: This study investigates the evolution of Arabic syntax from a traditional prescriptive framework to a modern linguistic paradigm characterized by descriptive, functional, and contextual approaches. It focuses on the contributions of key figures such as Ferdinand de Saussure, Noam Chomsky, and prominent Arab linguists like Maḥdī al-Makhzūmī and Tamām Ḥassān. Employing a qualitative-descriptive method and literature review with historical and epistemological genealogical approaches, the findings reveal that the reformative efforts of these scholars have significantly influenced the development of a more adaptive syntax framework aligned with contemporary pedagogical, academic, and technological demands. Modern Arabic syntax now emphasizes not only structural form but also semantic function and pragmatic usage. This study further highlights how the integration of classical theory and contemporary approaches has enhanced curriculum design, Arabic language pedagogy, and the development of linguistic technologies such as NLP. The research recommends strengthening integrative approaches in syntax instruction and expanding interdisciplinary applications of Arabic syntax. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menelusuri perkembangan sintaksis bahasa Arab dari pendekatan preskriptif klasik menuju paradigma linguistik modern yang lebih deskriptif, fungsional, dan kontekstual. Kajian ini berfokus pada kontribusi pemikir seperti Ferdinand de Saussure dan Noam Chomsky, serta tokoh linguistik Arab kontemporer seperti Maḥdī al-Makhzūmī dan Tamām Ḥassān. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif-deskriptif dengan studi pustaka dan pendekatan historis serta genealogis epistemologis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa reformasi sintaksis yang dilakukan para tokoh tersebut membuka jalan bagi pemahaman sintaksis yang lebih adaptif terhadap kebutuhan pedagogis, ilmiah, dan teknologi modern. Sintaksis modern tidak lagi hanya menekankan struktur formal, tetapi juga fungsi makna dalam wacana dan aplikasi nyata dalam komunikasi. Kajian ini juga mengungkap bahwa integrasi antara teori klasik dan pendekatan kontemporer memberikan kontribusi besar dalam pengembangan kurikulum bahasa Arab, pembelajaran sintaksis, serta pengembangan teknologi bahasa seperti NLP. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan pendekatan integratif dalam kurikulum sintaksis dan eksplorasi lanjut terhadap pemanfaatan sintaksis dalam konteks multidisipliner. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan Learning Management System (LMS) dan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dalam mendukung asesmen autentik pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian kepustakaan, data dikumpulkan melalui penelaahan literatur dari jurnal ilmiah, buku, laporan penelitian, dan artikel akademik yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LMS memberikan ruang yang sistematis dan terintegrasi bagi guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan asesmen autentik berbasis portofolio, proyek, forum diskusi, rekaman audio, dan kuis interaktif untuk menilai keterampilan istima’, kalam, qirā’ah, dan kitābah secara kontekstual. Sementara itu, AI mampu memperkuat asesmen autentik melalui analisis otomatis, umpan balik instan, deteksi kesalahan bahasa, dan evaluasi adaptif menggunakan teknologi seperti Natural Language Processing (NLP) dan speech recognition. Penelitian ini juga menemukan tantangan berupa rendahnya literasi digital guru, keterbatasan infrastruktur, dan belum matangnya model AI bahasa Arab. Meski demikian, integrasi LMS dan AI menghadirkan peluang besar untuk mengembangkan asesmen bahasa Arab yang lebih efektif, personal, dan relevan di era digital. Studi ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan pembelajaran bahasa Arab serta mendorong penelitian lanjutan yang lebih empiris. This study aims to describe the utilization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in supporting authentic assessment in Arabic language learning. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research design, data were collected through an extensive review of scholarly journals, books, research reports, and academic articles. The findings indicate that LMS provides a systematic and integrated digital environment for teachers to design and implement authentic assessments through portfolios, projects, discussion forums, audio submissions, and interactive quizzes, allowing for contextual evaluation of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Meanwhile, AI enhances authentic assessment by offering automated analysis, instant feedback, error detection, and adaptive evaluation through technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and speech recognition. The study also identifies several challenges, including limited digital literacy among teachers, inadequate technological infrastructure, and the underdevelopment of Arabic-language AI models. Despite these challenges, the integration of LMS and AI offers significant opportunities to develop more effective, personalized, and contextually relevant assessment models in Arabic language education. This research provides meaningful implications for Arabic language pedagogy and encourages further empirical studies.

Abstract

Kurikulum bahasa Arab pada madrasah mengalami pembaruan melalui Keputusan Menteri Agama (KMA) Nomor 183 Tahun 2019 sebagai respons terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, tuntutan globalisasi, serta kebutuhan peningkatan mutu pembelajaran. Artikel ini bertujuan menelaah latar belakang, landasan filosofis dan teknis, serta kesesuaian komponen kurikulum bahasa Arab untuk tingkat Madrasah Aliyah (MA). Penelitian menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan melalui analisis literatur terkait KMA 183 dan 184 Tahun 2019, buku, artikel, dan kajian kurikulum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan kurikulum dilandasi kondisi internal pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang masih bersifat struktural serta faktor eksternal berupa dinamika penggunaan bahasa Arab di dunia global. Kurikulum dirancang berbasis standar kompetensi, berorientasi pada penguatan empat keterampilan berbahasa, dan menuntut implementasi pembelajaran abad 21 berbasis teknologi. Komponen kurikulum pada MA telah sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan nasional serta kebutuhan kompetensi peserta didik masa kini. Secara keseluruhan, kurikulum bahasa Arab pada KMA 183 menekankan pembelajaran komunikatif, aplikatif, dan kontekstual agar peserta didik mampu memanfaatkan bahasa Arab sebagai alat komunikasi global dan sebagai sarana memahami sumber ajaran Islam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran bahasa Arab berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dalam konteks Kurikulum Merdeka. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka yang menelaah berbagai literatur terkait konsep HOTS, strategi penyusunan soal, serta implementasinya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan HOTS dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, analitis, serta problem solving peserta didik. Selain itu, integrasi HOTS sejalan dengan Profil Pelajar Pancasila yang menekankan kompetensi adaptif, kolaboratif, dan kreatif sebagai bekal menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Namun, penerapannya menghadapi sejumlah kendala seperti keterbatasan sumber daya, kurangnya bahan ajar kontekstual, serta rendahnya motivasi siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peran aktif guru dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran, penyusunan soal berbasis HOTS, serta pemanfaatan media pembelajaran inovatif. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran bahasa Arab berbasis HOTS dalam Kurikulum Merdeka tidak hanya meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa, tetapi juga membentuk peserta didik yang kritis, kreatif, dan berkarakter.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the level of writing anxiety among tenth-grade students at MAN 5 Bogor and its relationship with their writing skills. The study employs a quantitative correlational method, with a sample of 74 students selected through Proportional Random Sampling from a total population of 285 students. Data collection techniques included a writing anxiety questionnaire based on the Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory (SLWAI) by Cheng, using a Likert scale, as well as interviews and writing tests. The collected data was analyzed using the Product Moment Correlation formula. The results indicate that students’ writing anxiety falls into the "moderate" category, with an average score of 63.62. Correlation analysis revealed that the rxy value was 0.622, which is higher than the critical values at the 5% significance level (0.229) and the 1% significance level (0.298). Accordingly, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, confirming a statistically significant relationship between writing anxiety and writing skills. However, the strength of this relationship is classified as "moderate," suggesting that while writing anxiety affects writing skills, it is not the sole determinant of students' writing performance
