Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya perbedaan latar belakang pendidikan mahasiswa yang memengaruhi cara mereka mempelajari ilmu nahwu. Mahasiswa lulusan sekolah umum dan pesantren memiliki pengalaman serta pendekatan berbeda dalam memahami materi, namun strategi belajar yang digunakan belum banyak dikaji secara rinci. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan membandingkan strategi belajar nahwu mahasiswa UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta berdasarkan latar belakang pendidikan mereka, dengan fokus pada enam strategi belajar menurut Oxford, yaitu memori, kognitif, kompensasi, metakognitif, afektif, dan sosial. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah mixed methods dengan metode studi perbandingan (dirosah muqoronah wasfiyah). Data diperoleh melalui tes, angket, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif melalui reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta secara kuantitatif menggunakan rumus korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kecenderungan strategi belajar. Mahasiswa lulusan pesantren cenderung menggunakan strategi kompensasi dan kognitif, sedangkan mahasiswa lulusan sekolah negeri lebih dominan pada strategi kognitif, memori, dan sosial. Strategi kognitif menjadi strategi umum yang digunakan oleh kedua kelompok sebagai penunjang utama dalam memahami materi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penyesuaian metode pengajaran nahwu dengan mempertimbangkan latar belakang pendidikan mahasiswa, sehingga proses pembelajaran dapat berlangsung lebih efektif dan mampu mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar yang beragam.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Role Play method in improving Arabic speaking skills. This research is significant because several issues in teaching speaking skills have been identified, including students’ lack of confidence when speaking Arabic due to their fear of making mistakes, which is caused by their limited vocabulary. Additionally, Arabic language instruction often focuses solely on vocabulary teaching, and teachers have not yet implemented engaging methods and strategies in Arabic language teaching. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups of students: an experimental group using the Role Play method and a control group not using the Role Play method. The research data was collected through oral tests (pre-test and post-test) and analyzed using t-tests and N-Gain tests to determine the effectiveness and degree of effectiveness of the method. After applying the treatment, the average score of the experimental group increased to 75.37, compared to 41.47 before the treatment. Meanwhile, the control group’s average pre-test score was 38.95, and their post-test score was 41.89. The t-test results showed a value of 19.96, with a t-table value of 1.68 at a 5% significance level and 2.43 at a 1% significance level. This indicates that the t-test value is greater than the t-table value, meaning the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, signifying that the Role Play teaching method effectively improves Arabic speaking skills. Furthermore, the N-Gain test was conducted to determine the level of effectiveness, which yielded a result of 0.6. This value falls within the range of >0.03 and <0.07, indicating that the effectiveness of this teaching method is categorized as moderate.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the content of the Arabic language book for 6th- grade Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) students, published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, written by Uswatul Hasanah, using content analysis based on Rusdi Ahmad Thuaimah's theory. The main focus of this research includes three aspects: vocabulary (mufradat), cultural elements, and exercises. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data was obtained from the 2020 edition of the Arabic language textbook for 6th-grade MI students published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs as the primary source, along with related literature as secondary sources. Data collection was conducted through documentation studies, while data analysis utilized content analysis methods based on Rusdi Ahmad Thuaimah's approach, covering language, culture, and exercise aspects. The results show that the book presents vocabulary in a structured and consistent manner, with 12 new words per lesson. However, the vocabulary provided does not meet the ideal standard recommended for the elementary level. In terms of culture, the book successfully incorporates Islamic and local cultural values but requires strengthening in presenting a broader diversity of Arab cultures. On the other hand, the exercises and evaluations provided do not fully support the development of language skills comprehensively. The findings indicate that while the book has strengths in terms of organization and visualization, further development is needed in the areas of material variety, depth of meaning, and contextualization to make Arabic language learning more communicative and comprehensive.

Abstract

The lack of students’ interest in reading Arabic texts is often caused by the use of conventional teaching models, such as the lecture method, which tends to be monotonous and hampers comprehension. In addition, some students still struggle with reading Arabic texts, preventing them from achieving the learning objectives effectively. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Think, Pair, and Share learning model in improving students' Arabic reading skills. This research employs a quantitative method with an experimental approach using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of 38 fifth- grade students, divided into an experimental group (19 students) and a control group (19 students). Data collection techniques included tests, interviews, and observations, while data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk test, homogeneity test, independent sample T-test, and N-Gain test. The results indicate that the Think, Pair, and Share model, assisted by PowerPoint, is effective in enhancing Arabic reading skills. The post-test average score of the experimental group reached 80, higher than the control group, which scored 74.73. The independent sample T-test results showed a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.004 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Additionally, the N- Gain test result of 0.4 demonstrates that the effectiveness of the learning model falls within the moderate category. Thus, the Think, Pair, and Share model is proven to have a positive impact on improving students' Arabic reading skills.

Abstract

Penelitian klasik mengenai bunyi dan mufrodat dalam bahasa telah lama menjadi fokus kajian dalam bidang linguistik. Fenomena perubahan bunyi atau fonologi berperan penting dalam perkembangan kosakata (mufrodat) suatu bahasa dari waktu ke waktu. Perubahan ini terjadi melalui berbagai proses fonologis, dan semua ini memengaruhi pembentukan dan transformasi kata dalam suatu bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali bagaimana perubahan bunyi dalam sejarah perkembangan bahasa mengarah pada pembentukan mufrodat. Selain itu, makalah ini berisi tentang pengertian ilmu bunyi dan fokus pembahasan pada teori klasik yaitu fonologi. Serta pengertian mengenai mufrodat dengan menggunakan pendekatan linguistik klasik. Makalah ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami hubungan antara bunyi dan mufrodat dalam bahasa, serta memperkaya studi linguistik terkait dengan dinamika perubahan bahasa.

Abstract

An essential component of the educational system, learning evaluation measures the success of the teaching and learning process as well as the attainment of learning objectives. Evaluation plays a strategic role in Arabic language learning because it covers the four primary language skills-istima‘ (listening), kalam (speaking), qira‘ah (reading), and kitabah (writing)-in addition to evaluating mastery of cognitive components like mufradat (vocabulary) and qawa‘id (grammar). In addition to explaining the goals, purposes, and forms of evaluation pertinent to Arabic language instruction, this article attempts to theoretically investigate the ideas of evaluation, assessment, and measurement in the context of learning the language.The study's findings demonstrate the need for a thorough assessment of Arabic language acquisition that takes into account the cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor domains and makes use of a variety of tools in order to characterize students' overall communicative proficiency.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the application of the Gibbs reflection cycle in measurement and assessment. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected through interviews and analyzed with the Miles, Huberman and Saldana models. The results of this study show that the Gibbs reflection cycle can be used in measurement and assessment with the same stages, namely description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion/synthesis, and action plan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find a variation of test technique and variety of test in Arabic Language-Tamrinul Lughah subject and analyze it based on the theory of multiple intelligences at Darul Muttaqien Islamic Boarding School Bogor West Java. This research is field research conducted at Tarbiyatul Mu’allimin wal Mu’allimat al-Islamiyyah (TMI) class II since July 2018 up to August 2020. This research is qualitative, using case study method. Methods of data collection through interview, observation, focus group discussion, and documentation. The steps of data analysis are carried out qualitatively. By stages; 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) display data with analysis, 4). conclusion. The findings of this study are Pesantren in implementing Arabic learning evaluation-Tamrinul Lughah have applied the Non-Test and Test Techniques. While the variety of tests includes Akhlak Mulya Test, Kepribadian Test, Formative Test, Summative Middle Test, and Summative Final Test both written and oral. The variety of tests has proven to be able to develop santri’s multi-intelligence, including linguistic intelligence, spiritual intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and intrapersonal intelligence. So, the evaluation of learning Arabic based on multiple intelligences is very effective in improving student achievement.

Abstract

This research/paper aims to reveal the results of the tests that use the Kahoot App for the students and do not use it, and to reveal the effectiveness of the Kahoot method in teaching he remote listening skill. This research followed a semi-experimental study based on the quantitative approach, and its design consisted of the experimental group and the control group. The researcher used data collection methods, which are direct observation, personal interview, tests and questionnaires. After the researcher analyzed the data, reached the mean of the two tests, the pre-test and the post-test. Based on the average results of the experimental group at a value of 28.75 and the average results of the control group at a value of 16.75, it indicates that the average results of the experimental group are greater than the average results of the control group. And I came to the analysis of the data using the "t" test rule. The result of the arithmetic t0 (t0) is 2.79, so the table is at the level of significance of 5% on the value of 1,686 and the level of significance of 1% on the value of 2,429, and this indicated that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. This means that the use of the Kahoot method in teaching the remote listening skill of the pupils of this school is statistically significant. يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن نتائج الاختبارات التي استخدم فيها تطبيق كاهوت للطلاب والذين لم يستخدموه، وكذلك للكشف عن فعالية طريقة كاهوت في تعليم مهارة الاستماع عن بعد. اتبع هذا البحث منهجًا شبه تجريبي قائمًا على النهج الكمي، ويكون تصميمه من مجموعة تجريبية ومجموعة ضابطة. استخدم الباحث طرقًا لجمع البيانات، من الملاحظة المباشرة، المقابلات الشخصية، الاختبارات، والاستبيانات. بعد أن قام الباحث بتحليل البيانات، توصل إلى متوسط نتائج الاختبارين، الاختبار القبلي والاختبار البعدي. بناءً على نتائج متوسطات المجموعة التجريبية بقيمة 28.75 ومتوسط نتائج المجموعة الضابطة بقيمة 16.75، فإن هذا يشير إلى أن متوسط نتائج المجموعة التجريبية أكبر من متوسط نتائج المجموعة الضابطة. وقام بتحليل البيانات باستخدام قاعدة اختبار "t". وكانت نتيجة t الحسابية (t0) هي 2.79، وبالتالي فإن القيمة الجدولية عند مستوى الدلالة 5% هي 1.686 وعند مستوى دلالة 1% هي 2.429، مما أشار إلى أنه تم رفض الفرضية الصفرية (H0) وقبول الفرضية البديلة (Ha). وهذا يعني أن استخدام طريقة كاهوت في تعليم مهارة الاستماع عن بعد لطلاب هذه المدرسة له دلالة إحصائية.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find and analyze informal language environment based on multiple intelligences theory, and to find the achievements of Darul Muttaqien Islamic Boarding School Bogor in learning Arabic, both academic and non-academic achievements.This research was field research conducted at Tarbiyatul Mu'allimin wal Mu’allimât al-Islâmiyyah (TMI) class II and class V which is equivalent to the level of Madrasah Tsanawiyah class II and Madrasah Aliyah class II Darul Muttaqien Islamic Boarding School Bogor since July 2017 up to August 2018. This research was qualitative, using case study methods with steps: a) Analysis of findings continuously in the field, b) Grouping and organizing data, c) Making systematic notes and reading literature about other studies about relevant issues to obtain a framework that fits the findings in the field, and d) Evaluate each of the steps taken to avoid mistakes or sharpen the focus of the ongoing research. Data collection methods were in-depth interviews, participant observation, focus group discussions, and documentation. There were two types of data in this study: First, primary data was obtained from interviews, observation results, Focus Group Discussion results, and Lessson Plan/RPP/I'dâd Tadrîs, informal language environments, and learning evaluation. Second, secondary data is obtained from books, research journals, magazines, print and electronic media. This study proved that learning Arabic with Howard Gardner’s Multiple intelligences theory approach has a positive effect and very effective in improving students' language skills. Islamic boarding school with integrated, integrative and comprehensive education system has applied this theory in the process of learning Arabic, both in class and in the Islamic boarding school environment with the support of kyai, teachers, and representative facilities.
