Abstract

Malaria is still a problem in Indonesia and the world because the morbidity rate is still quite high, and its management is a commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) until 2030. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk factors for the incidence of malaria in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. Further analysis of Riskesdas 2018 data was carried out from January to August 2021. The location of this research is all provinces in Indonesia, as many as 34 provinces. The sample in this study is the total population based on the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) in Indonesia as many as 26,657 samples. This study uses secondary data from Riskesdas 2018. The data analysis in this study is univariate analysis with descriptive analysis. The results of this study are respondents suffering from malaria aged >24 years as many as 14,769 (55.4%), female respondents suffering from malaria as many as 13,827 (51.9%), respondents having low education suffered from malaria as many as 19,926 (74.7%), respondents working suffered as much as 15,570 ( 58.4%), respondents living in rural areas suffer from malaria as many as 18,558 (69.6%), respondents who sleep without using mosquito nets suffer from malaria as many as 20,671 (77.5%), respondents do not use repellent suffer from malaria as many as 18,104 (67.9%), respondents do not use mosquito coils /spray/electric suffer from malaria as many as 14,059 (52.7%), respondents who do not use mosquito netting on home ventilation suffer from malaria as many as 22,369 (83.9%), and respondents suffer from malaria in Indonesia as many as 8,076 (30.3%). It is hoped that the Indonesian Ministry of Health will monitor the program for using repellents and distributing insecticide-treated mosquito nets to malaria-endemic areas. It is hoped that the District/City Offices should be more effective in providing counselling or education on malaria prevention to the public as a malaria prevention measure.

Abstract

The development of globalization tends to influence the attitude pattern of teenagers to deviate behavior, especially sexual behavior. Based on data from the BPS and the Ministry of Health (2017), it was found that 70,000 female adolescents who died due to pregnancy abortion and births reached 70,000 people. This is followed by the increasing number of HIV/AIDS. This study aims to explain the effect of health promotion through the media of snakes and ladders and engklek games on knowledge and attitudes about sex education in adolescents at the Al Imam Abi Yazid Al Bastomy Islamic boarding school in Dumai City. Methods: This research is a quasi- experimental with a one group pretest and posttest design approach. The sampling technique used in this study was a total sampling of 40 female students at the Al Imam Abi Yazid Al Bastomy Islamic boarding school, Dumai city which was divided into 2 groups, namely the snake and ladder group of 20 people and the engklek group of 20 people (Ministry of Health, 2003). Results: The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was an increase in knowledge using snake and ladder media with p < 0.001, there was no increase in knowledge through engklek media with p = 0.063. There was an increase in attitudes about sex education using snakes and ladders media and engklek media with p<0.05. There was a difference in the mean of knowledge between the snake ladder and engklek media groups with p < 0.001. There was no difference in the mean attitude between the snake and ladder media group and the engklek with p value = 0.429. Conclusion: Snakes and ladders game media can be used as an effective means of health education in changing knowledge and attitudes

Abstract

The emergence of malaria is inseparable from the anopheles mosquito that can survive the existing environment. Community behaviour also plays an important role in the risk of getting mosquito bites. Indonesia still has malaria-endemic districts/cities. This objective is to determine the effect of environmental and behavioural factors on malaria incidence. This study used a cross-sectional design; the population in this study were all people who visited the malaria post in the Percut Village, Deliserdang Regency, totalling 140 people. The data will be analyzed using multiple logistic regression tests. The logistic regression test results showed that the habit of leaving the house (p-value = 0.007), the use of mosquito nets (p = 0.001), affected the incidence of malaria in the village of Percut, Deliserdang Regency. The most dominant variable in malaria incidence was the use of bed nets with an exp B value of 11.68.
