Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis konsep kewirausahaan dalam bidang BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing) serta relevansinya dengan kebutuhan sertifikasi UKBI (Uji Kemahiran Berbahasa Indonesia) di era profesional dan akademik saat ini. Fokus utama penelitian mencakup empat aspek: konsep kewirausahaan bahasa dalam konteks BIPA, identifikasi peluang usaha yang dapat dikembangkan termasuk layanan persiapan UKBI, pemetaan target pasar potensial, serta analisis tantangan dan strategi pengembangan usaha. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi literatur, analisis dokumen kebijakan bahasa, dan telaah model bisnis pendidikan bahasa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kewirausahaan di bidang BIPA memiliki prospek signifikan seiring meningkatnya mobilitas global, diplomasi budaya Indonesia, serta kebutuhan profesional untuk memiliki sertifikasi UKBI. Peluang usaha yang dapat dikembangkan meliputi layanan pengajaran BIPA reguler, kelas intensif tematik, kursus persiapan UKBI, pelatihan kebutuhan profesional, penyusunan modul digital, dan layanan konsultasi bahasa. Target pasar mencakup mahasiswa asing, ekspatriat, tenaga kerja asing, diplomat, perusahaan internasional, hingga lembaga pendidikan global. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa tantangan utama meliputi kurangnya standardisasi layanan, kompetensi pengajar yang belum merata, akses pasar internasional yang terbatas, serta persaingan yang semakin meningkat. Strategi pengembangan yang efektif antara lain penggunaan pemasaran digital, inovasi model pembelajaran, peningkatan sertifikasi pengajar, serta kolaborasi dengan lembaga pemerintah, KBRI, dan institusi pendidikan luar negeri. Secara keseluruhan, bidang BIPA dan UKBI memiliki potensi besar sebagai peluang kewirausahaan bahasa Indonesia apabila didukung oleh strategi pemasaran dan pengelolaan yang tepat. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks narasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tigalingga melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa yang belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan melalui dua siklus, yang masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis, observasi, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis teks narasi siswa setelah penerapan model PjBL. Selain meningkatkan hasil belajar, penerapan model pembelajaran ini juga berdampak positif terhadap keaktifan, kepercayaan diri, kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta kreativitas siswa dalam menyusun teks narasi yang runtut dan sesuai dengan kaidah kebahasaan. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Project Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks narasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tigalingga dan layak direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran menulis di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

Abstract: This study analyzes the use of the slang word “kuy” in the daily language of Indonesian society, particularly among teenagers and young adults. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive-analytical method, data were collected through questionnaires from 107 respondents, in-depth interviews, social media observation, and digital documentation. The findings show that “kuy” originates from the phonological reversal of the word “yuk” in prokem language, which emerged in the 1980s and gained popularity on social media around 2014. Semantically, 89.7% of respondents understand “kuy” as an invitation, but pragmatically, it also serves as a symbol of social closeness and group identity, with 57.9% considering it important to express familiarity among peers. The word is most commonly used to invite someone to do something (52.8%) and appears more frequently in social media communication than in face-to-face interaction. Its usage is moderate, with 85% of respondents using it occasionally, reflecting the younger generation’s ability to code-switch according to the communication context. This study concludes that “kuy” is not only a linguistic expression but also a cultural artifact that reflects the creativity and social dynamics of Indonesia’s urban digital generation. Keywords: slang, kuy, sociolinguistics, prokem language, social media, adolescent identity, language variation, digital communication, Gen Z, Indonesian slang. Abstrak: Studi ini menganalisis penggunaan kata slang "kuy" dalam bahasa sehari-hari masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya di kalangan remaja dan dewasa muda. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif-analitis, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dari 107 responden, wawancara mendalam, observasi media sosial, dan dokumentasi digital. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa "kuy" berasal dari pembalikan fonologis kata "yuk" dalam bahasa prokem, yang muncul pada 1980-an dan mendapatkan popularitas di media sosial sekitar tahun 2014. Secara semantik, 89,7% responden memahami "kuy" sebagai undangan, tetapi secara pragmatis, itu juga berfungsi sebagai simbol kedekatan sosial dan identitas kelompok, dengan 57,9% menganggapnya penting untuk mengekspresikan keakraban di antara teman sebaya. Kata itu paling umum digunakan untuk mengundang seseorang untuk melakukan sesuatu (52,8%) dan muncul lebih sering dalam komunikasi media sosial daripada dalam interaksi tatap muka. Penggunaannya tergolong moderat, dengan 85% responden menggunakannya sesekali, mencerminkan kemampuan generasi muda untuk beralih kode sesuai konteks komunikasi. Abstract

The development of entrepreneurship in the field of Indonesian Language Learning for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) has strategic potential in expanding cultural diplomacy, increasing educational competitiveness, and opening up opportunities for language-based creative economies. This study aims to examine the integration of digital innovation through the development of story-based educational games and the use of the YouTube platform as a means of producing and distributing BIPA educational content. Educational games are developed to provide an immersive, interactive, and contextual learning experience that can increase motivation, learning outcomes, and the involvement of foreign students in Indonesian culture. Meanwhile, YouTube digitalization is utilized as a medium for entrepreneurship in the field of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) by presenting learning content, linguistic tutorials, culture, and creative materials that have both educational and economic value. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach and digital market potential analysis, this study shows that the integration of educational games and YouTube not only enriches the BIPA learning model but also opens up business opportunities for educators, content creators, and learning media developers. In conclusion, this digital innovation contributes to strengthening an adaptive, creative, and sustainable Indonesian language edupreneurship ecosystem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis teks bagi pemelajar Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) di Manila, Filipina. Desain penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Sumber data pada penelitian ini berupa peristiwa, sedangkan data berupa hasil observasi pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi pada pemelajar BIPA tingkat A1. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik rekam dan catat dengan objek penelitian yakni seorang pengajar BIPA di Manila, Filipina. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa pembelajaran berbasis teks pada keterampilan menulis deskripsi tentang keluarga terdiri atas beberapa tahapan. Tahapan tersebut adalah 1) pembangunan konteks melalui penyampaian refleksi, tujuan pembelajaran, dan materi ajar; 2) pemodelan teks melalui bagan sebagai acuan; 3) pembuatan teks secara bersama-sama melalui kalimat pembangun paragraf; dan 4) pembuatan teks secara mandiri. Pembelajaran berbasis teks merupakan pembelajaran dengan pola yang berpusat pada teks dan model pemebelajaran ini dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis pemelajar. Materi ajar dan kreativitas guru berperan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis teks bagi pemelajar BIPA. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis teks dalam keterampilan menulis deskripsi bagi pemelajar BIPA di Filipina dapat diterapkan untuk melatih dan mengembangkan kemampuan menulis mereka.

Abstract

The study aims to find personal patterns of forbidden communication in Angkola Language (BA), to figure out the performance and communication patterns as well as the values ​​and reasons for the prohibition. Another goal is to re-awaken the youth to apply the values ​​and norms in BA in the freedom era of communication. The research carries out qualitative approach with the ethnographic method of anthropolinguistics framework, it studies language in a cultural framework. Participants involved in BA which are considered taboo in communication are between: 1) the wife/husband of the brother-in-law called ompung bayo; 2) siblings, especially in different sex; 3) daughter-in-law to son-in-law; 4) son-in-law to daughter-in-law; and 5) in-law parent relationship (a husband’s father and a wife’s mother). The performance patterns carried out by the participants were: 1) silent and not answer; 2) indirect sentences; 3) coding (coughing sound); 4) simple and short words; 5) mediation of surrounding objects; 6) leaving the conversational location; 6) not joking; 7) tending to be serious; 8) giving polite answers; 9) avoiding jokes, and long talk; 10) using a third person intermediary; and 11) making small talk. The indexicality of this language is: 1) respect; 2) the attitude of maintaining self-respect and respect for brothers; 3) polite attitude; 4) form of service; and 5) reluctance to speak. The results of the respondents' answers indicate that the level of understanding is 63.13% and the ignorance is mostly from respondents aged under 20 years. The cause of the waning of language taboo culture is due to the development of the times (globalization), the widespread use of social media and the openness in information and communication in today’s modern era.

Abstract

This study investigates how politeness strategies and conversational structures shape Tom Lembong’s political communication style in the What Is Up, Indonesia? podcast. Integrating Leech’s (2014) Politeness Principle and Yule’s (1996) Conversational Analysis (CA), the research aims to identify the types of politeness maxims employed and examine how conversational features contribute to constructing Tom’s political persona. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the data were drawn from Tom Lembong’s utterances in a 40-minute YouTube interview. The analysis identified seven politeness maxims, with the Agreement Maxim occurring most frequently (22), followed by Approbation (11), Opinion Reticence (11), Tact (10), Modesty (10), Sympathy (5), and Feeling Reticence (4). Conversational features were also found throughout the interaction, dominated by Feedback (12), Turn-Taking (8), Repair (8), Sequence (6), and Action Formation (5). The findings reveal that Tom’s political persona is constructed through the synergy of politeness and conversational organization. His frequent use of agreement, praise, humility, and cautious opinion expression, combined with smooth turn-taking, responsive feedback, and effective repair, produces an image of a calm, respectful, and approachable political figure. This study contributes to digital political discourse research by demonstrating that politeness is not only reflected in lexical choices but also embedded in interactional structure. It further shows how political identities are strategically shaped in contemporary online media, suggesting opportunities for future comparative studies across different political actors and platforms.

Abstract

This research discusses the potential application of Enuma School as a tool to aid in the enrichment of Indonesian vocabulary for BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing) learners. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes the interactive features and contextual content offered by the application. The analysis results indicate that Enuma School can serve as an effective alternative digital application for developing Indonesian vocabulary, enhancing BIPA students' motivation to learn through educational games, supporting independent learning, and fostering digital literacy. However, challenges such as integration with the BIPA curriculum, training for educators, evaluating the effectiveness of the application's use, and addressing technology accessibility gaps need to be considered. This study suggests that educational institutions consider using this application as part of their BIPA learning strategy to achieve better outcomes in mastering Indonesian vocabulary.

Abstract

The growing need for literacy and language competency evaluation in Indonesia has opened up new entrepreneurial opportunities in language and literature education, particularly in exam/test preparation and literacy services. This study aims to describe the forms, potential, and challenges of entrepreneurship arising from these services, and to analyze their contribution to improving the quality of Indonesian language learning. A qualitative descriptive approach was used to explore entrepreneurial practices in the provision of question banks, the creation of assessment instruments, editing and translation services, the development of literacy modules, and writing assistance. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies with business actors, educators, and service users. The results indicate that entrepreneurship in the field of tests and literacy services has high prospects due to the increasing demand for authentic assessments, academic literacy, and writing support in schools and universities. However, challenges arise in aspects of instrument standardization, professional competence of practitioners, and regulations related to academic integrity. This study concludes that entrepreneurship in language and literature education has the potential to become a sustainable creative industry ecosystem for education if supported by capacity building, technology utilization, and collaboration with educational institutions.
