Abstract

This study aims to develop a pentahelix collaboration model in tourism development as an effort to reduce poverty levels in Tojo Una-Una Regency, an area with great tourism potential but high poverty rates. In this study, qualitative methods were used, including Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and in-depth inter-views, to collect comprehensive data. SWOT analysis is used to identify strategies that can exploit strengths and opportunities while addressing existing weaknesses and threats. In addition, a matrix analysis is carried out to illustrate the division of roles in each proposed strategy. The findings of this study resulted in eight main strategies, including increasing the attractiveness of ecotourism, fostering re-gional cooperation, and increasing public awareness of environmental protection. This strategy is expected to improve the quality of human resources supporting tourism and strengthen tourism infra-structure in the region. Based on the results of this study, a matrix of collaboration between the government, academics, businesspeople, communities, and media was created, which is expected to be the foundation for joint efforts in overcoming poverty and accelerating tourism development in Tojo Una-Una.

Abstract

Counseling on Stunting Prevention Using Audio-Visual Media via WhatsApp is a crucial information tool because it contains elements of sound and images, which involve the senses of sight and hearing in the absorption process. The lack of knowledge among mothers of toddlers about stunting prevention is influenced by the lack of information obtained, including in the form of counseling, especially through Audio-Visual Media. This type of research is a descriptive survey method aimed at understanding the impact of stunting prevention counseling using audio-visual media via WhatsApp on the knowledge and attitudes of mothers of toddlers, with a sample size of 30 people. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires before and after counseling using audio-visual media via WhatsApp. The results obtained from the data showed that the level of knowledge among mothers about stunting prevention before counseling was mostly in the poor category, with 12 people (40%). However, after counseling, the level of knowledge among mothers increased to a majority in the good category, with 25 people (83.3%), and none were in the poor category. The conclusion of this study is that there is an increase in the knowledge and attitudes of mothers about stunting prevention after counseling with audio-visual media via WhatsApp, which aligns with the objectives of the counseling. It is hoped that communication media such as WhatsApp will continue to be used to enhance knowledge, particularly about stunting prevention among mothers of toddlers.

Abstract

Characteristics of microbiome of the pig’s digestive tract play an important role in the animal’s physiology, including metabolism, nutrient processing, the body’s immune response, and disease resistance. This study aims to analyze the abundance and diversity of microorganisms (pathogenic and non-pathogenic) from the digestive system of pigs on farms in Tangerang District. The samples used in this research were pig feces from 43 pig farms in Tangerang District. Then DNA extraction was carried out using the Zymo Quick-DNA Fecal/Soil Microbe Kit according to manufacturing procedures. Sequencing was performed using an MGI DNBSEQ-G50 machine with a DNBSEQ-G50RS High-throughput sequencing set (FCL PE100) according to manufacturing procedures. The quality of fastq files was evaluated with FastQC. Taxonomic classification of the processed sequences was performed using Diamond, followed by MEGAN6. The microbiome of the pig’s digestive system was dominated by bacteria (85%) with the taxonomic profile at the phylum level of abundance dominated by Firmicutes (84.46%) and Bacteroidetes (9.11%). Abundance at the genus level was dominated by Enterococcus (20.44%) and Clostridium (10.31%), and at the species level it was dominated by Escherichia coli (4.92%) and Levilactobacillus brevis (4.84%). There were 10 species of pathogenic bacteria detected, with E. coli showing the highest relative abundance (4.92%). Changes in the gut microbiome play an important role in the physiology of animal health and disease. In addition, the pathogenic bacteria detected not only affect the health and productivity of pigs but also have the potential to threaten public health.

Abstract

Every year, around 2 million people in the world die from TB, and 9 million become infected with TB. Indonesia is located in position third after India and China. Batang Regency is one of the locations with a high prevalence of TB in Central Java. In 2021, there were 840 TB cases recorded in Batang Regency, increasing sharply in 2022 to 1192 cases. Seeing this trend, it is necessary to carry out research on strategies to reduce the incidence of pulmonary TB using literacy studies and spatial analysis in Batang Regency, Indonesia, in 2023. This study is a descriptive study using spatial analysis. This research is accompanied by an in-depth look at answers to TB program holders at the Batang Regency Health Service. The subjects in this study were patients with pulmonary TB in Batang Regency. The data analysis used the ArcView GIS program to obtain a map of the distribution of pulmonary TB cases in Batang Regency. Research results show that there were 831 pulmonary TB cases in 2020, 840 cases in 2021, and a sharp increase in 2022 with 1192 cases. The highest number of cases was in Batang District, with 279 cases, followed by Warungasem District, with 123 cases, and Bandar District, with 111 cases. These three districts are lowland and densely populated areas. Therefore, the Batang Regency Health Service needs to prioritize TB control programs in areas with the most cases.

Abstract

In competitive markets, innovation capability is critical in enhancing marketing strategies. The present study analyzes the effect of innovation capability on marketing performance outcome with visual aesthetics and positional advantage as mediating variables, and generational cohort as a moderating variable. The population of this study comprised 113 respondents from weaving and batik small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in Central Sulawesi, who were selected through a census sampling method. The data were collected through the administration of questionnaires and subsequently analyzed using the Smart PLS 4 application to evaluate the relationships in the conceptual model. The findings suggest that innovation capability exerts a negative and non-significant influence on marketing performance. However, visual aesthetics and positional advantage have been shown to significantly enhance the impact of innovation capability on marketing performance. Subsequent findings demonstrate that visual aesthetics significantly enhances positional advantage. The generational cohort substantially moderates the relationship between innovation capability and marketing performance. This study posits that when employed as a marketing strategy, local wisdom can be a source of competitive advantage by leveraging visual elements derived from unique cultural symbols. As evidenced by the study's findings, this approach can be convenient in dynamic marketplaces where imitation is challenging. Generational groups exhibit divergent capacities for innovation within small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which can result in disparities in their ability to attain competitive advantage.

Abstract

This community service program addresses the issue of low visual competitiveness among MSME products, particularly those produced by members of the Komunitas Sukses Berjamaah Indonesia (KSBI), who are predominantly homemakers engaged in culinary and fashion businesses. The focus of the activity is to strengthen product design and branding capacity, enabling MSME actors to develop attractive and consistent brand identities in the era of digital marketing. The program aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in understanding branding concepts, designing logos, packaging, and visual promotional content, while also fostering confidence and collaborative learning within the community. The activities were conducted using the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) approach through participatory planning, a one-day training session, hands-on practice using Canva and Pixellab, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results show an average knowledge improvement of 42 points, participants successfully produced various visual designs, and a new community structure—the “KSBI Mini Creative Team”—was formed as a platform for sustaining branding assistance within the community.

Abstract

Putu ayu cake is a traditional Indonesian snack. Consumption of wheat flour, the main ingredient, is still dependent on imports, necessitating the need for alternative local ingredients. Taro flour contains high levels of carbohydrates, fiber, and some protein, making it a potential substitute. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of taro flour substitution on the level of preference, physical quality (texture and color), protein content, and moisture content of putu ayu cake. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) experimental method with four taro flour substitution treatments: 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%, each replicated twice. The results showed that taro flour substitution affected the physical quality, color, and texture, but did not significantly affect panelists' preference for all sensory attributes. The highest average preference score was found in the 25% taro flour treatment, with an overall score of 5.85. Protein content increased with increasing proportion of taro flour, with the highest result at 75% substitution at 7.25%. In contrast, air levels did not show a consistent pattern of increase or decrease between treatments.
