Abstract

One of the obstacles for students when studying the human circulatory system is the difficulty of students in distinguishing the large circulatory system and the small circulatory system. The purpose of developing the prototype of props is to make students better understand in real and detailed terms about the blood circulation process in the human body, so far, students have only used images as visual media, and students can be motivated and learning is not spared, so that student learning outcomes can improve. The purpose of making a circulatory system model of children's learning motivation is to provide a concrete picture of information and new ideas and unite the material that the teacher will convey to the knowledge that will be given to the child, so that the material presented by the teacher can be well received by students. Props are made using styrofoam material, which is designed in such an attractive way to be representative of human blood circulation. This research is part of design-research with small-scale class trials. A small-scale trial of a prop prototype involved seven junior high school students in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. After being given an explanation and participants tried the prop prototype, they were given a questionnaire to measure students' interest and motivation for the prototype props that had been developed previously. The result obtained from this study is that students have new experiences by learning to use props. Participants were very interested and motivated in using prototypes of human circulatory circulation styrofoam props. The results of small-scale trials indicate that the props prototypes that have been developed are suitable for use in large-scale trials. Keywords: Teaching aids, blood circulation, science learning

Abstract

Students sometimes feel bored with the lecture-based learning model, so as educators it is necessary to try to apply digital learning in the classroom. Digital learning is expected to increase students' interest and motivation in learning so that students feel comfortable and the knowledge they gain will be easy for them to accept. This study aims to analyze the use of digital learning media on students' interest and motivation to learn. The research method used in this research is a survey using interest and motivation questionnaires. The survey results from the aspect of student interest indicate that on average each indicator of the use of digital learning can help increase student interest in learning, while the motivational aspect shows that on average each indicator of the use of digital learning can help increase students' learning motivation. The results of this survey indicate that digital learning is useful so that it can increase interest and motivation to learn in students.

Abstract

Bibliometric analysis is a set of mathematical and statistical methods used to analyze and measure the quantity and quality of books, articles, and forms of publication. This article is a bibliometric analysis that uses PoP indexed journals on Jigsaw and Communication Skills with the help of software to analyze data, namely VOSviewer. The purpose of this study is to determine the development of research related to Jigsaw and Communication Skills in terms of the distribution of bibliometric maps and trends of research or publication on the PoP database using VOSviewer software. In particular, this article discusses the development of citations, publication trends, author collaborations, titles, keywords, abstracts, and country statistics with the topic of Jigsaw and Communication Skills in the 2017-2021 period. The keywords used in searches on PoP software are "communication skills", "application", "Jigsaw". The results of the study showed that the results of the analysis using VOSviewer obtained the results of five clusters (red, blue, yellow, green, and purple) which showed a relationship between one topic and another.

Abstract

This study aimed to understand the implementation and learning activities of students after the implementation of the inquiry cycle learning model assisted by JavaLab. This research used an observational research design by involving 32 students 7th grade. Data collection technique used Stallings snapshot observation. Then, data were analyzed using the results of learning implementation and the percentage of learning activities. Based on the results of data analysis, it showed that the implementation of learning with the inquiry cycle learning model assisted by JavaLab was carried out in all phases and obtained a percentage of learning activities with more dominant active instructions. Students actively participate in the learning process through discussions, practice or drills, and assignments. Based on this explanation, although there are limitations, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry cycle learning model assisted by JavaLab has a good impact on student learning activities in the implementation of learning.

Abstract

Learning that involves students directly needs to be implemented because such learning can make students memorable and strong memory. Learning that combines knowledge, skills and experiences from the past or directly to construct, can also make students easy to understand the material. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of experiential learning model integrated with peer instruction. Intervention study design was used in the study with 30 participants in class VIII in one of the junior high schools in Surabaya city. The collection technique used was observation with an implementation sheet and Stalling classroom snapshot. The data results obtained from three meetings were very well implemented. The ? score obtained indicates a good agreement relationship between the two observers. In student activities that are often observed by observers are conducting experiments and discussing. Student activity can be said in learning that runs active students. Engagement with peers can improve students' understanding because they are exposed to their peers' thinking and participate in creating shared understanding. The experiential learning model integrated with peer instruction can make students become active and directly involved in learning, and emphasize experience so that it will be memorable for students. This learning model can be a good alternative for teachers in teaching in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan dan aktivitas pembelajaran setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran less-structured-inquiry yang telah dilakukan di salah satu SMP Negeri di Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan observational research dengan melibatkan 30 siswa kelas VIII. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan dan aktivitas pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran less-structured-inquiry terlaksana semua tahapan dan diperoleh hasil observasi instruksi aktif lebih mendominasi. Siswa terlibat aktif selama proses pembelajaran dalam melakukan diskusi dan menyelesaikan tugas bersama kelompoknya. Berdasarkan pemaparan tersebut, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa menggunakan model pembelajaran less-structured-inquiry pada proses pembelajaran memberi dampak pada siswa serta membuat siswa aktif khususnya materi getaran dan gelombang, meskipun dalam pelaksanaannya masih terdapat kekurangan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan dan aktivitas pembelajaran siswa melalui penerapan model case based learning (CBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan observation research dengan melibatkan 34 siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMPN Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan Stallings snapshot observation. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis berdasarkan hasil keterlaksanaan dan persentase aktivitas pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap tahapan model CBL terlaksana, dengan persentase aktivitas pembelajaran yang lebih dominan pada instruksi aktif. Siswa terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan berdiskusi, praktik, latihan, dan penugasan selama pembelajaran. Berdasarkan penjelasan tersebut meskipun terdapat keterbatasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model CBL memberikan dampak positif terhadap keterlaksanaan dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Kurikulum 2013 menekankan pada inkuiri ilmiah (scientific inquiry) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir, bekerja, dan bersikap ilmiah, serta meneruskannya sebagai komponen penting kecakapan hidup. Namun berdasarkan fakta yang ada, siswa memiliki peran yang kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, mereka mendengarkan penjelasan dari guru tanpa mencoba untuk menggali pengetahuan yang diajarkan guru dari sumber lain. Sebagai alternatif solusi penelitian ini kemudian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur berstrategi Prediction, Alternative conceptions, Refutation, Observation, Comparison, dan Scientific explanation (PAROCS) dalam kegiatan belajar siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah observation research dengan 30 partisipan dari siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di daerah Balongbendo. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dengan menggunakan lembar pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data dianalisis menggunakan versi modifikasi dari koefisien Cohen's Kappa coefficient (k) untuk data ordinal rating scale yang disebut Weighted Kappa (kω) untuk menentukan kesepakatan antara dua pengamat. pembelajaran terlaksana dengan sangat baik selama tiga kali pertemuan. Keterlibatan siswa secara aktif berdampak pada meningkatnya hasil belajar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur berstrategi PAROCS diimplementasikan dengan baik yang berdampak pada meningkatnya hasil belajar siswa meskipun beberapa bagian memerlukan perbaikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
