Abstract

This article discusses about the dynamic of Junior High School students conceptual understanding on energy due to an intervention. The key indicators to see these dynamic of conceptual understanding, i.e. by comparing the normalized gain (N-gain) score with the normalized loss (L) score. This study employed a design experiment and conducted at SMPN 1 Tanah Grogot, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan in the First Semester Academic Year 2015/2016. Subject research were 30 students from the 7th grade. The data were obtained from results of students conceptual understanding tests about energy (pretest and posttest). The results of this study showed that: (1) students who got low N-gain score tend to have a loss; and generally N-gain > L, that mean the intervention could promote students to understand substantive concepts on energy topics. Based on these results despite some limitation, could be concluded that students conceptual understanding and students conception change influenced by the intervention and reinforced the conceptual change theory especially on the knowledge-as-elements perspectives. Artikel ini membahas mengenai dinamika pemahaman konsep siswa SMP pada materi energi akibat adanya intervensi. Indikator kunci untuk melihat dinamika pemahaman konsep tersebut, yaitu dengan membandingkan score normalized gain (N-gain) dengan score normalized loss (L). Studi ini menggunakan design experiment dan dilakukan di SMPN 1 Tanah Grogot, Kab. Paser, Kalimantan Timur pada Semester Ganjil Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 orang siswa kelas VII. Data diperoleh dari hasil tes pemahaman konsep siswa tentang energi (pretest dan posttest). Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa: (1) siswa yang memperoleh skor N-gain rendah akan cenderung mengalami loss; dan (2) secara umum N-gain > L, yang berarti intervensi dapat mengenalkan siswa untuk memahami konsep-konsep substantif pada topik energi. Berdasarkan hasil-hasil tersebut meskipun terdapat beberapa limitasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep dan perubahan konsepsi siswa dipengaruhi oleh intervensi serta menguatkan teori perubahan konsep khususnya pada perspektif pengetahuan seperti elemen.

Abstract

The critical component in science learning today is the students ability to proficiency the scientific inquiry skills. Inquiry skills are the focus in scientific practice today, especially on proposing action and interpreting results. For this purpose, three experimental worksheets on energy topic were designed and developed. Thirty students enrolled in 11th grade in a public senior high school in the Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province participated in this study. This study used qualitative research methods to collect data in accordance with the principles of classroom natural setting. Participants are involved in teaching and learning process activities that are taught by physics teachers in the schools. The results of the students written responses were obtained from the experimental worksheet, as well as field note data during observations during the teaching-learning process. The results of the study show that in the category of proposing action and interpreting results the students abilities are still low. Proficiency in content knowledge according to substantive concepts has a strong effect on students scientific inquiry skills. The implication of this study is that it emphasizes the formation of scientific culture classrooms to be able to promote and bring science closer to the students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Four-Tier Fluid Material Misconception Diagnostic Test instrument that can provide an overview of the misconception profile of high school students in Southeast Sulawesi. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with XI grade high school students in three districts/cities in Southeast Sulawesi. The stages of the research adapting the Brog and Gall method are preliminary studies; product planning and design; and product testing. Data analysis techniques on content validity testing using V' Aiken; empirical validity testing using the Rasch approach with WINSTEP 3.73 software, the profile of misconceptions at the limited trial stage and broad trials using the categorization of the Diagnostic Four-Tier Test. From the results of the content validity test and empirical validity, it is shown that the diagnostic test instrument for the Four-Tier Misconception Test for Fluid Materials is in the valid and reliable category (r = 0.87 = 0.05). This research has succeeded in developing a diagnostic test instrument for the Misconception Four-Tier Test for Fluid Materials as many as 20 items which can describe the misconception profile of class XI high school students with good criteria. The highest misconception is in the Archimedes Law Sub-concept of 36.30%. Students' misconceptions on fluid material from research subjects were obtained by Kendari City by 29.50%; East Kolaka Regency by 35.70%; and Kabupaten Bombana by 32.20%.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' problem-solving skills about additives in food and beverages. This study used one group pretest and posttest design. This study involved thirty-one students from grade 8 at one of the state junior high schools in Gresik Regency, East Java, for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. Data collection techniques using observation assessment sheets, written test assessment sheets, and response questionnaire forms. Based on this study, the results of the percentage of learning implementation of the first meeting of the first session were 91%, the first meeting of the second session was 94%, the second meeting of the first session was 92%, and the second meeting of the second session was 95% by meeting the excellent category. The problem-solving skills were obtained n-gain 0.78 high categories, including the stage of formulating the question 0.67 medium categories, the hypothesis  0.57 with the medium category, determining the solution obtained 0.83 with the high category. The calculation of n-gain in each stage obtained an average n-gain of 0.74 by fulfilling the high category—the response questionnaire form from students with a percentage with excellent categories and positive student responses. The results of this study show that implementing problem-based learning can improve problem-solving skills, especially additives in food and beverages.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMP pada materi Sistem Pencernaan Manusia dengan menerapakan model discovery learning berbantuan video Animasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMP Swasta di Gresik. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kelas VIII A dengan siswa berjumlah 31 orang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Pre-Experimental Design dengan tipe One Grup Pretest-Posttest. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tulis (pretest-posttest), observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan angket respons. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil persentase rerata keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada pertemuan satu sebesar 89% dan pada pertemuan kedua sebesar 93% yang dikategorikan sangat baik. Hasil belajar siswa dalam uji normalitas sebesar 0,522 yang berarti terdistribusi normal, hasil rerata nilai pretest sebesar 52,58 dan posttest sebesar 83,87 memperlihatkan perbedaan kenaikan dan rerata yang signifikan, hasil N-gain sebesar 0,68 termasuk ke dalam kriteria sedang. Berdasarkan dari kriteria N-gain per siswa, sebanyak 17 siswa (61,29 %) mengalami peningkatan sedang, 12 siswa (38,70 %) mengalami peningkatan tinggi dan 2 siswa (4,16) mengalami kenaikan rendah. Kemudian respons siswa selama mengikuti pembelajaran memberikan respons positif dengan rerata kategori sebesar 82,77 %. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model discovery learning dengan bantuan video animasi membantu memvisualisasikan materi sistem pencernaan manusia yang tergolong bersifat abstrak dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Ide No Child is Left Behind (NCLB) yang dilanjutkan dengan program Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) telah menjadi agenda global yang harus dicapai tahun 2030. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi adalah konsep yang telah lama dikenal sejak NCLB (2002-2015), kemudian dikuatkan kembali dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Tujuan kegiatan pendampingan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman para guru IPA SMP/Sederajat dalam mengembangkan modul ajar berdiferensiasi. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi erat kaitannya dengan agenda pendidikan global, yakni menekankan pada literasi sains yang berasosiasi dengan isu-isu sosiosaintifik. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah 38 guru yang tergabung dalam satu Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) IPA di salah satu Kabupaten yang ada di Jawa Timur. Kegiatan pendampingan menggunakan one-group pre-and post-test workshop design dengan sesi paparan materi dan sesi praktik dengan metode peer instruction. Kegiatan pendampingan ini disimpulkan efektif karena mampu meningkatkan gain peserta pada kategori sangat memuaskan. Selain itu, para guru juga mengalami pemahaman, kemampuan beradaptasi, dan fleksibilitas dalam mengembangkan modul ajar berdiferensiasi. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini adalah para guru IPA harus memunculkan kesadaran kolektif untuk terus belajar secara mandiri, sesuai prinsip ESD.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berciri inkuiri telah mendominasi aktivitas belajar IPA di sekolah secara internasional. Pengembangan budaya ilmiah telah menjadi salah satu tujuan pendidikan IPA yang ditandai dengan keterampilan praktik ilmiah yang menekankan pada indikator keterampilan manipulatif/psikomotor dan keterampilan proses sains. Studi ini berusaha untuk menemukan, mengungkap, dan menganalisis atribut-atribut keterampilan praktik ilmiah dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan pendekatan inkuiri induktif terbimbing sebagai intervensi. Studi ini menerapkan pendekatan pra-eksperimen pada skala mikro dengan mengutamakan classroom natural setting. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam studi ini sebanyak 30 orang siswa kelas VII SMP. Proses belajar-mengajar di kelas disesuaikan dengan tahapan pendekatan inkuiri induktif terbimbing. Pengukuran atas performa siswa dilakukan secara langsung saat unjuk kerja, maupun tidak langsung berdasarkan jawaban partisipan di lembar kerja. Berdasarkan hasil data hasil keterampilan praktik ilmiah serta analisis pola transisi respons (retensi, gain, dan loss), studi ini mengonfirmasikan bahwa pendekatan inkuiri induktif terbimbing dapat mengenalkan dan meningkatkan keterampilan praktik ilmiah siswa. Kemampuan siswa untuk memanipulasi objek yang diteliti sesuai prosedur eksperimen, mengembangkan hipotesis tentatif, dan memprediksi berdasarkan data hasil eksperimen perlu menjadi perhatian para guru IPA dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran. Meskipun ada beberapa batasan, studi ini juga membahas beberapa hal terkait pengembangan profesionalitas dan pedagogi guru IPA untuk mewujudkan budaya ilmiah dalam kelas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement in science learning outcomes for junior high schools on the Digestive System material with the Teams Games Tournament TGT. The study was carried out at junior high school SMPN 28 Surabaya, Indonesia. Pre-experimental designs were used in the study. This study was aimed at 33 students in grade eight. Data were collected by observation, written test, and response questionnaire. This study obtained the average learning implementation with a very good percentage (93%). It can be concluded that the average N-gain is high. Student responses during learning also gave a positive response. The student response questionnaire shows a high percentage (89.14%), which means that they agree with the implementation of learning using this model. In conclusion, the TGT in the learning process can improve student learning outcomes, especially in the material of the human digestive system.

Abstract

Changes in the national education curriculum and learning approaches in the Merdeka Curriculum become problems for teachers. In contrast, the key to successful curriculum implementation depends on the understanding and ability of teachers to translate and develop the curriculum itself. This study purposed to reveal science teachers’ knowledge and understanding on differentiated learning and the Merdeka Curriculum. This study involved sixty-five participants with a professional background as science teachers at the Lower Secondary School level. Small-scale surveys were conducted using complex multiple-choice item questions. This study reveals the average science teacher’s understanding of differentiated learning and the changes in science subjects in terms of content and process according to the Merdeka Curriculum only 37.85%. Furthermore, the findings show that current training had minimal impact on the science teachers’ preexisting knowledge. Therefore, according to the Merdeka Curriculum, the training pattern’s vital role must be concerned with developing teacher knowledge and understanding of changes in science subjects for the Lower Secondary School and the learning process. However, despite some limitations, we also think that the spaces for teachers’ curriculum agency patterns can be used to improve the science teachers’ knowledge and understanding on differentiated learning and the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The city of Surabaya has implemented the e-health program since 2014. Protection of patient data is the most important aspect in evaluating e-health health programs. The research objective is to analyze the evaluation of patient personal data protection in e-health programs. The research method uses descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. Data collection techniques used a mixed-method approach. The research results show that the protection of patient data in the implementation of the E-Health Program in the city of Surabaya is reviewed from indicators (1). Guarantee of Patient Data Confidentiality service recipient version; (2). E-Health Application Security; (3). Efforts to Convince Users in Using E-Health; (4). E-Health Service Application Security from Irresponsible Parties; (5). Patient Personal Data Guarantee program implementation version.
