Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) learning is an important foundation in developing students' scientific literacy, critical thinking skills, and scientific attitudes. However, the learning process still faces many challenges related to low learning interest, the dominance of conventional methods, and limited use of technology. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of innovative approaches in science learning through a systematic review of 25 national and international journal articles published in 2020–2025. The systematic review method was carried out through the stages of identification, selection, data extraction, and thematic analysis. The results of the analysis show that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), STEM Learning, and digital technology integration (PhET Simulation, mobile learning, gamification, blended learning) approaches have been proven to have a positive impact on learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, creativity, and student motivation. The thematic analysis resulted in four main themes: (1) strengthening critical thinking skills through PBL, (2) developing creativity and scientific literacy through IBL, (3) STEM integration to improve collaboration and scientific attitudes, and (4) utilizing digital technology for motivation and understanding abstract concepts. This study concludes that a combination of various innovative approaches is needed to make science learning more relevant to the demands of the 21st century.

Abstract

The use of digital-based learning media has revolutionized the way we learn and teach. Particularly in teaching science at the elementary school level, the application of this type of media stands out as a relevant and interesting topic. This media can significantly improve the quality of science learning, while providing a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience for students. This study aims to review the literature related to the use of digital learning media in the context of science teaching. The approach used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data collection process involved compiling and analyzing articles discussing digital learning media in science learning, focusing on publications from 2021 to 2023. A total of six articles from journals available on Google Scholar were collected by the researcher. From a systematic review of various published studies, it can be summarized that various types of digital media can be applied in the science learning process. The most commonly used media include digital elements such as images, videos, simulations, and interactive games, as these tools can motivate students to learn and strengthen their curiosity about the material being studied.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA merupakan salah satu sarana penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang mampu berpikir ilmiah, kritis, kreatif, serta berwawasan lingkungan. Namun, berbagai temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar maupun menengah sering kali masih didominasi metode ceramah yang menempatkan siswa sebagai penerima informasi pasif. Model pembelajaran inkuiri hadir sebagai salah satu solusi karena menempatkan siswa sebagai subjek belajar aktif yang terlibat dalam penemuan pengetahuan melalui langkah-langkah ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA melalui systematic review. Data penelitian berupa sepuluh artikel ilmiah yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal UNESA periode 2015–2022. Setiap artikel dianalisis berdasarkan fokus penelitian, metode, hasil, dan kesimpulan, kemudian diringkas dalam bentuk tabel serta diperdalam melalui analisis naratif. Analisis tambahan dilakukan dengan melibatkan kecerdasan buatan (ChatGPT) untuk memperkuat interpretasi pola temuan. Hasil systematic review menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar IPA, keterampilan berpikir kritis, berpikir kreatif, keterampilan proses sains, serta pemahaman konsep siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan relevansi model inkuiri dengan Kurikulum 2013 yang berbasis scientific approach dan menunjukkan bahwa model ini dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran yang menjawab tuntutan kompetensi abad ke-21.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan simulasi PhET (Physics Education Technology) dalam pembelajaran fisika untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep Hukum Newton melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Kajian ini didasarkan pada analisis terhadap sembilan artikel jurnal nasional yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2016 hingga 2025 dan membahas penerapan PhET dalam pembelajaran fisika. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan simulasi PhET secara konsisten mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, hasil belajar, serta aktivitas belajar siswa. Melalui simulasi virtual, siswa dapat memvisualisasikan hubungan antara gaya, massa, dan percepatan sehingga konsep yang abstrak menjadi lebih konkret dan mudah dipahami. Sebagian besar penelitian melaporkan peningkatan hasil belajar dengan nilai N-Gain berkisar antara 0,58 hingga 0,79 (kategori sedang hingga tinggi). Selain itu, tingkat aktivitas belajar siswa mencapai 85–90%, menunjukkan antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif selama proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, simulasi PhET terbukti efektif dan inovatif sebagai media pembelajaran fisika yang dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan literasi sains, khususnya pada materi Hukum Newton

Abstract

The process of implementing the selection of instructional media is essentially one application of learning technology. This research is the implementation of project-based learning in which learners will create teaching aids to study the basic competencies of the motion system. This research belongs to research design with a small-scale class trial. This research involves five randomly selected learners. Questionnaire instruments were used to measure the interest and motivation of learners after the small-scale class trial. The results of the small-scale class trial show that student interest is predominantly low, with a percentage of 25% regarding teaching aids-based instructional media, while the results of the small-scale class trial indicate that learner motivation agrees, with a percentage of 47% regarding student motivation instruments in instructional media. Learner responses to teaching aids and instructional media are quite positive, with a percentage of 60%, and they provide feedback related to providing more visuals and more appealing fonts. The implementation of project-based learning with teaching aids media in the small-scale class trial shows a positive trend and serves as a basis for improving teaching aids media for use in larger-scale class trials. Abstract

Experiential learning media initiatives in junior high school because students will more easily understand concepts through experimental activities compared to just listening to information from the teacher. The method used is a survey of students' interests and motivations after trying the media props "wind powered car." The number of participants surveyed was seven junior high school students. The small amount is intended to obtain initial data about interest and motivation in the learning media prototype. The survey results show that the majority of students are interested in the media or have high interest and motivation in experiential learning media. Based on the survey results, the prototype of the learning media that has been made is good enough, so it can be used in larger classes. Abstract

One of the obstacles for students when studying the human circulatory system is the difficulty of students in distinguishing the large circulatory system and the small circulatory system. The purpose of developing the prototype of props is to make students better understand in real and detailed terms about the blood circulation process in the human body, so far, students have only used images as visual media, and students can be motivated and learning is not spared, so that student learning outcomes can improve. The purpose of making a circulatory system model of children's learning motivation is to provide a concrete picture of information and new ideas and unite the material that the teacher will convey to the knowledge that will be given to the child, so that the material presented by the teacher can be well received by students. Props are made using styrofoam material, which is designed in such an attractive way to be representative of human blood circulation. This research is part of design-research with small-scale class trials. A small-scale trial of a prop prototype involved seven junior high school students in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. After being given an explanation and participants tried the prop prototype, they were given a questionnaire to measure students' interest and motivation for the prototype props that had been developed previously. The result obtained from this study is that students have new experiences by learning to use props. Participants were very interested and motivated in using prototypes of human circulatory circulation styrofoam props. The results of small-scale trials indicate that the props prototypes that have been developed are suitable for use in large-scale trials. Keywords: Teaching aids, blood circulation, science learning

Abstract

Students sometimes feel bored with the lecture-based learning model, so as educators it is necessary to try to apply digital learning in the classroom. Digital learning is expected to increase students' interest and motivation in learning so that students feel comfortable and the knowledge they gain will be easy for them to accept. This study aims to analyze the use of digital learning media on students' interest and motivation to learn. The research method used in this research is a survey using interest and motivation questionnaires. The survey results from the aspect of student interest indicate that on average each indicator of the use of digital learning can help increase student interest in learning, while the motivational aspect shows that on average each indicator of the use of digital learning can help increase students' learning motivation. The results of this survey indicate that digital learning is useful so that it can increase interest and motivation to learn in students.

Abstract

Bibliometric analysis is a set of mathematical and statistical methods used to analyze and measure the quantity and quality of books, articles, and forms of publication. This article is a bibliometric analysis that uses PoP indexed journals on Jigsaw and Communication Skills with the help of software to analyze data, namely VOSviewer. The purpose of this study is to determine the development of research related to Jigsaw and Communication Skills in terms of the distribution of bibliometric maps and trends of research or publication on the PoP database using VOSviewer software. In particular, this article discusses the development of citations, publication trends, author collaborations, titles, keywords, abstracts, and country statistics with the topic of Jigsaw and Communication Skills in the 2017-2021 period. The keywords used in searches on PoP software are "communication skills", "application", "Jigsaw". The results of the study showed that the results of the analysis using VOSviewer obtained the results of five clusters (red, blue, yellow, green, and purple) which showed a relationship between one topic and another.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya pemanfaatan teknologi dan model pembelajaran yang masih bersifat tradisional Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada saat penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) berbantuan Augmented Reality (AR) pada materi Struktur Bumi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya adalah poor-experimental designs dengan one-group pretest-posttest. Subyek penelitian ini merupakan siswa salah satu SMP di Surabaya kelas VIII. Variabel yang digunakan adalah variabel bebas yaitu model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI dan media AR, sedangkan variabel terikat yang digunakan yaitu hasil belajar siswa. Keterelaksanaan pembelajaran ini diamati oleh dua pengamat, dengan menggunakan lembar pengamatan Stallings snapshot instrument yang diadaptasi dari World Bank Group. Penelitian yang dilakukan sebanyak tiga pertemuan ini didapatkan bahwa model pembelajaran ini dapat terlaksana. Hasil observasi menunjukkan pada instruction active pada ketiga pertemuan berjalan baik karena lebih dari 50, sedangkan keterlaksanaan belajar dengan baik karena intruction passive 20, 10, dan 5. Data dari student on task sebesar 68, 75, dan 65. Pada student of task sebesar 68, 75, dan 3, sedangkan student off task sebesar 5,5, dan 3, pada Classroom Management dan Teacher Of Task diperoleh 8, 8, dan 11. Hal ini menujukkan keterlaksaan pembelajaran kooperatif dengan tipe TAI berjalan dengan baik.
