Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of students' attitudes toward hate speech on social media and the factors that influence students' attitudes toward hate speech. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The study population was all tenth-grade students of Nusantara Plus Senior High School, Ciputat, South Tangerang, with a sample of 70 students. The research instrument in this study was a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were tested. Data were analyzed using normality tests and one-tailed t-tests with the help of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 2.0. The results of the study indicate that the level of students' attitudes toward hate speech is in the very low category, with an average score of 143.21, lower than the limit value of 294. Students' attitudes toward hate speech are influenced by a conducive school environment, parental supervision, and sufficient understanding of digital communication ethics. The results of this study emphasize the important role of schools and families in preventing negative behavior on social media through digital literacy development and strengthening tolerance values.

Abstract

Karang Tawulan Beach in Cikalong District, Tasikmalaya Regency has significant potential as a leading tourist destination in West Java, but a comprehensive understanding of visitors' perceptions of natural beauty and tourist attractions is still limited. This study aims to explore and analyze visitors' perception of the natural beauty and tourist attractions of Karang Tawulan Beach as a leading destination in Tasikmalaya Regency, including identifying factors that affect visitor satisfaction and attractiveness. This research uses a qualitative approach with a narrative design, conducted through field research at Karang Tawulan Beach in the period from March to June 2025. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 25 visitors, participatory observation and photographic documentation. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes that emerged from visitor narratives. The findings of the study revealed that visitors perceive Karang Tawulan Beach to have extraordinary natural beauty, especially unique coral formations, clear blue sea water, and pristine white sand expanse. Visitors really appreciate the authenticity and natural atmosphere which has not been too touched by commercialization compared to other beaches that are more crowded. The main attraction factors include beautiful natural panoramas, photography spots, water sports activities, and a serene atmosphere. However, visitors also identified several aspects that need improvement, including limited infrastructure facilities, inadequate accessibility, limited parking areas and lack of information services. Visitor satisfaction is greatly influenced by the experience of natural beauty, cleanliness, safety, and quality of service. This study concludes that Karang Tawulan Beach has strong potential as a leading tourist destination, but requires integrated development that focuses on improving infrastructure while maintaining environmental sustainability and natural authenticity to improve visitor experience and destination competitiveness.

Abstract

Pedestrian overpass (PDO) are constructed to ensure the safety of pedestrians; however, a paradox arises when many university students who are considered educated individuals choose not to use them. This study aims to understand the reasons behind students’ avoidance of pedestrian bridges through a grounded theory approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 20 students, behavioral observations, and field notes, and analyzed using open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings reveal three main categories: efficiency calculation, in which students perceive that using pedestrian bridges is not worth the cost in terms of time and effort; bridge conditions, which are often regarded as dark, dirty, uncomfortable, and unsafe; and urban social and cultural norms, where jaywalking is considered socially acceptable because it is practiced by the majority. This study recommends multidimensional interventions, including improving bridge design, fostering new social norms that emphasize safety, and implementing integrated policies that balance design, education, and law enforcement.

Abstract

The Banyumas people, who are popularly called wong Banyumasan, are widely known as unique and different figures compared to other Javanese people. The special difference lies in the accent they use, namely the ngapak language. It is called ngapak because the pronunciation of the vowels "a" and "o" and the consonants b, d, k, g, h, y, k, l and w are fixed and not floating or half-assed, as is usually found in standard Javanese. Wong Banyumasan, which consists of Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap and Kebumen regencies, makes the ngapak dialect their cultural identity. This research uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive research type. The data in this study used secondary data by searching databases from various references, such as research journals, journal reviews, and data related to Banyumasan culture, especially the Ngapak language. Data analysis for this study used descriptive qualitative and analytical descriptive methods. The results of the research show that the Ngapak dialect is the development of thoughts or perceptions in relation to the patterns that exist in the Ngapak dialect itself. The view of the Banyumasan cultural community on the Ngapak dialect is that it is a Banyumasan cultural identity that is unique, cool and rich, and has the potential to be developed. The use of the ngapak dialect in the daily life of the Banyumasan people still shows their consistency not to give up and to preserve their cultural identity. Keywords: Banyumasan culture; Ngapak dialect; cultural identity
