Abstract

Character education has become a strategic issue in elementary education amidst the challenges of globalization and technological developments, which have led to a decline in student discipline, responsibility, and cooperation. Scouting extracurricular activities are seen as an effective solution for shaping student character through direct experience and the instilling of positive values.This study aims to explore the role of Scouting extracurricular activities in student character development, particularly in the areas of discipline, responsibility, and cooperation at SDN 5/33 Mattoangin, Pangkep Regency, and to answer the question of how these activities contribute to student character development. This study employed a qualitative, descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were collected using purposive sampling of teachers, Scout leaders, and students.The results indicate that Scouting activities play a significant role in improving student discipline through the habit of following rules, increasing responsibility through completing tasks and maintaining equipment, and strengthening cooperation through group activities and mutual cooperation. These findings contribute to the understanding that character education is more effective through direct experience and instilling habits in real-life situations. The conclusion of this study confirms that the Scouting extracurricular activity is an effective tool in developing students' character. Therefore, it is recommended that schools improve the quality of Scouting activities. Further research can examine broader aspects of character and use different approaches to enrich the research findings.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the 21st century has fundamentally transformed the educational landscape, particularly following the experience of distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the massive adoption of various digital tools and platforms. This paper aims to examine strategies for utilizing digital technology to enhance learning effectiveness. The discussion covers basic concepts, theoretical foundations such as constructivism, connectivism, and the TPACK and SAMR frameworks, types of applicable technologies, integration strategies, implementation barriers, and methods for evaluating effectiveness. This study reveals that the availability of technology alone is insufficient; successful learning outcomes depend heavily on the teacher’s ability to integrate technology with subject matter and appropriate teaching methods. Effective strategies include aligning technology with learning objectives, implementing blended learning models, and utilizing interactive and adaptive features. In Indonesia, key challenges involve infrastructure gaps and disparities in digital competence across regions. This paper concludes that digital technology serves as a powerful supporting tool for creating meaningful, inclusive, and relevant learning, provided it is applied strategically in accordance with sound pedagogical principles.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the implementation of a modified dynamic warm-up based on Bugis traditional games and its effectiveness in improving volleyball learning outcomes among eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 25 Bone. The study was motivated by the low enthusiasm of students during conventional warm-up activities, which affected their volleyball learning outcomes. Therefore, a dynamic warm-up integrated with Bugis traditional games was applied as an innovative, enjoyable, and meaningful learning strategy. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and the process of utilizing Digital Interactive Boards (DIB) to improve students' literacy skills at UPT SD Negeri 13 Siloro, Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency. The core problem is identified by the students' low ability to comprehend implicit text meanings and the presence of students who have not achieved formal reading fluency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The location was determined purposively based on the availability of technological facilities supporting the digitalization of learning. The research subjects included the classroom teacher, fourth-grade students, and the school’s infrastructure/IT coordinator. Data collection techniques involved method triangulation comprising participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document reviews. Supporting instruments consisted of interview guides, observation sheets, and field notes. Data analysis applied the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results demonstrated that the utilization of DIB significantly reduced the percentage of reading incomprehension from 20% to 5% and accelerated the reading fluency of 4 out of 7 previously struggling students. This success was driven by the integration of audiovisual features, kinesthetic stimulation through touch interactivity, and gamification elements capable of reducing learning anxiety.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financial feasibility of smallholder beef cattle farming in Soppeng Regency using fixed costs, variable costs, income, and benefit-cost (B/C) ratio indicators. Data were grouped by herd size, revealing a strong positive relationship between scale and financial performance. The B/C ratio increased progressively with herd size: 1.06 (2–5 head), 1.11 (6–9 head), 1.66–1.70 (10–17 head), 1.91 (18–21 head), and 2.02 (>22 head). Importantly, all herd size categories achieved B/C ratios above 1.0, indicating that smallholder beef cattle farming is financially feasible across all operational scales. However, larger-scale operations demonstrated substantially higher profitability, with the >22 head group achieving nearly twice the cost efficiency compared to the smallest scale. This improvement stems from declining fixed costs per head and higher total income, especially among larger-scale farmers who often use self-produced forage, eliminating major feed expenses. Net income increased dramatically from IDR 156,835 in the 2–5 head group to IDR 7,908,000 in the >22 head group. The findings suggest that enhancing profitability requires scaling up operations where feasible, integrating local forage systems, adopting comprehensive financial recording practices that capture both explicit and implicit costs, and strengthening farmer group institutions. These strategies can help smallholders enhance their already-positive financial performance and achieve greater economic sustainability. With efficient management, adequate scale of operation, and integration of local feed resources, beef cattle farming in Soppeng demonstrates significant potential to be both profitable and resilient across various operational scales.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran kepemimpinan yang melayani dalam membentuk budaya organisasi di sektor pendidikan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan systematic literature review (SLR) dengan menelaah 20 artikel ilmiah terbaru dalam lima tahun terakhir yang dipublikasikan di jurnal bereputasi, baik internasional maupun nasional. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa servant leadership mendukung penciptaan budaya organisasi melalui pemberdayaan individu, meningkatkan kepercayaan dan kohesi tim, dan menciptakan lingkungan kolaboratif yang inklusif. Selain itu, gaya kepemimpinan ini memperkuat nilai-nilai organisasi, seperti integritas, inovasi, dan profesionalisme, serta mendorong pembelajaran dan adaptasi berkelanjutan terhadap perubahan. Sehingga kepemimpinan yang melayani terbukti relevan dalam meningkatkan kinerja, kepuasan kerja, dan komitmen anggota organisasi sehingga kepemimpinan yang melayani dalam mengembangkan budaya organisasi yang mendukung keberhasilan dan keberlanjutan organisasi pendidikan di era modern.
