Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the 21st-century skills that are very important for students, especially in facing the challenges of the complex world of work and social life. Students' collaboration skills in the Biology Education Study Program at Universitas Sembilanbelas November (USN), Kolaka, are still relatively low. One approach believed to improve students' collaboration skills is the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL). Thus, this study aims to determine the effect of the application of Project-Based Learning on the collaboration skills of students in the Biology Education Study Program at USN Kolaka. This study is a pre-experimental type using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study were all active students (16 people) of the biology education study program, even the semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, who took the course "Media dan Sumber Pembelajaran Biologi". Data on students' collaboration skills were obtained using a collaboration skill observation sheet. Data analysis used an inferential test of the paired sample t-test type. The results of the study showed that the average collaboration skill of students before treatment was 30.77, and during treatment was 83.64. From the results of the inferential test, the Sig. The value was obtained. 0.000 0.05. This study concludes that there is a positive effect of the implementation of PjBL on students' collaboration skills. These findings indicate that PjBL can create a learning environment that encourages active participation, shared responsibility, effective communication, and constructive teamwork. Therefore, PjBL can be a strategic alternative for improving students' collaborative soft skills sustainably in higher education environments. Keywords:  collaboration, project-based learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a biology science learning device for junior high school with STAD strategy through lesson study that has a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. This study was conducted in two stages, namely the development research stage which aims to develop biology learning devices and implementation of learning with experiments. The research method is R & D by adapting the 4-D development model from Thiagarajan (1974). Data collection was carried out using tests, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially with mancova, and previously data normality and homogeneity tests were carried out. The development of a biology science learning device for junior high school with STAD strategy through lesson study provided several results, namely the learning process was carried out according to the plan that had been made; the student learning process showed an increase towards the better, as an impact of providing motivation, guidance and continuous attention from the model teacher; interaction between students, and interaction between students and teachers increased more than the previous cycle. This is the impact of providing motivation and enthusiasm, as well as reinforcement from the model teacher during learning; Students who still do not participate in group discussions or class discussions need a process and sufficient time to be able to change. Its influence on students' critical thinking skills, the results of critical thinking skills measurements conducted before and after learning, showed a tendency for an increase in the average value of critical thinking skills from pretest to posttest. Based on the learning strategy, the highest average pretest value of critical thinking skills was obtained in the STAD strategy, namely 41.02. The highest average value of critical thinking skills both pretest and posttest was in the upper academic ability, namely 42.41 and 71.94. The results of the study showed that the STAD learning strategy had an effect on critical thinking skills in junior high school biology science learning.

Abstract

Biology learning tends to be teacher-centered, resulting in a lack of active student involvement and limited metacognitive skill development. This study aims to determine the validity of the E-LKPD based on the KWL (Know-Want-Learned) strategy on ecosystem material to train students' metacognitive skills. The study used the R&D method with the ADDIE model limited to the Development stage. The research subjects were 18 grade X students of SMA Negeri 6 Gorontalo. Data were collected through teacher interviews and validation by two validators (media and material). The validation results showed that the E-LKPD based on the KWL strategy obtained a "very valid" category with an average percentage of 99% from media experts and 98% from material experts. The developed E-LKPD is suitable for use in biology learning to train students' metacognitive skills and is ready for the implementation stage.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the Emancipated Learning Curriculum in the Biology subject at SMA Negeri 1 Telaga Biru using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The qualitative study was employed to understand the effectiveness of curriculum implementation. The evaluation of CIPP covered four aspects, encompassing context, input, process, and product. The results of the context aspect indicated that the objectives of the curriculum were in line with the school's vision and mission in shaping students' character, competitiveness, and readiness for future challenges. Then, the input aspect indicated that the readiness of teachers and adequate facilities and infrastructure, but it required improvement in technology and learning resources. In the process aspect, the learning has implemented contextual approach and project-based methods, although active student participation and access to technology were still poor. Meanwhile, the product aspect indicated an increase in learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, and deep and applicable students' conceptual understanding. In general, the Emancipated Learning Curriculum in the Biology subject has been running effectively, although continuous improvement is still needed for more optimal results.

Abstract

The research is a development research that aims to describe the validity of learning devices based on cooperative learning models of talking chips type on human digestive system material. The method used ini this research is research and development (R & D) modified from Sugiyono (2018). The data collection technique uses a validity sheet. The products developed are teaching modules, teaching materials, LKPD, and question items on the material of the human digestive system. The assessment results show that the learning tools that have been developed meet the criteria with very valid quality. The results of the validation of teaching modules by both expert validators obtained percentage scores ranging from 84-100%, for teaching materials obtained percentage scores ranging from 86-100%, for LKPD obtained percentage scores ranging from 80-100%, and for question items obtained scores ranging from 80-100%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning device based on the cooperative learning model of talking chips type on the material of the human digestive system meets the criteria very valid and can be used for high school students
