Abstract

Understanding of concepts is a fundamental ability to learn mathematics in a more meaningful way. Understanding concepts is one of the goals to be achieved in learning mathematics. This study aims to determine the impact of a realistic mathematics learning approach (PMR) and analytical thinking on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This experimental research uses a posttest-only control design. The population in this study included students XI in Kasui sub-district, Way Kanan district, Lampung, Determination of the sample using cluster random sampling technique. The research sample was 72 students (36 in the experimental class and 36 in the control class). Hypothesis testing using ancova test. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the realistic mathematics learning approach (PMR) has an influence on students' understanding of mathematical concepts by controlling analytical thinking, analytical thinking has an influence on students' understanding of mathematical concepts, and there is a simultaneous influence between the PMR approach and analytical thinking on understanding mathematical concepts student.

Abstract

Background: Mathematical communication skills are an important aspect of mathematics learning that allows students to explore and consolidate their mathematical thinking clearly and precisely.Aim: This study aims to analyze the effect of Argument Driven Inquiry learning model and Mathematical Literacy on students' mathematical communication skills.Method: This research is a quantitative study that examines the mathematical communication skills of students by applying the argument driven inquiry learning model and mathematical literacy. The subjects of this study consisted of 30 students learning using the Argument Driven Inquiry model and 30 students using the conventional model. Data were collected through tests and analyzed using One-way Ancova. Results: The findings showed a significant effect of using Argument Driven Inquiry and Mathematical Literacy learning model on students' mathematical communication skills compared to using Conventional learning model. The experimental class obtained higher scores than the control class. Learners were able to organize mathematical arguments more systematically, formulate relevant questions, and convey mathematical thinking more clearly. Conclusion: Argument Driven Inquiry model and mathematical literacy together can affect the mathematical communication skills of students. These results have important implications in the development of mathematics curriculum that pays attention to communication aspects in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is the influence of learning model of Hands-On Mathematics with the help of learner worksheet (LKPD) integrated on Islamic values to critical mathematical thinking ability on the subject line and angle. The research method used is experimental research. The type of research is Quasi-Experimental Design research. The instruments used are critical thinking skills tests online and angle learning materials. Data analysis using one-way ANOVA test with the same cell. The conclusion of this research is that there is the influence of learning model of Hands-On Mathematics with LKPD which is integrated on Islamic values to students' mathematical critical thinking ability better than another learning model.

Abstract

This research  aims to developing a cartoon-based mathematics learning media to reduce students' anxiety. The resulting product is a cartoon-based mathematics learning media using macromedia flash software for grade VII students of  SMP on social arithmetic material. This research uses  4D research and development method,  proposed  by Thiagarajan consisting of  4 stages: (1) define or define; (2) design or design; (3) develop or development  and (4) disseminate or  disseminate.  Researchers  use qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. This research uses data collection techniques which are based on a questionnaire in the form of Likert scale for student response and student anxiety. The result of the research is a cartoon-based mathematics learning media which is suitable for learning media to decrease students' anxiety.  The feasibility of  instructional media resulting from material experts and media experts is valid and worthy of use as a medium of learning. The students’ response to the learning media obtained in  small  group test  is very interesting with the average  score  of  3.52. In the large group test obtained, the criteria of attractiveness is very interesting with an average score of 3.41. Levels of students’anxiety after the use of learning media have decreased, ie in the high anxiety category it has decreased from 41% to 0%, in the medium anxiety category it has decreased fom 35% to 24%, in the low anxiety category it has changed from 24% to 76%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop animation media using Macromedia flash based on the conceptual understanding of the subject of rectangle and rectangle. The research and development method used is 4D model proposed by Thiagarajan consisting of 4 stages, namely: (1) define; (2) design; (3) develop and (4) disseminate. Researchers use data collection techniques is a questionnaire in the form of Likert scale for the response of learners. The result of the research is the animation media using Macromedia flash based on the concept of the subject of rectangular and rectangle that is suitable for learning media. The feasibility of learning media obtained from the validation of material experts with an average score of 3.40 is categorized valid and validation of media experts with an average score of 3.32 are categorized as valid. Student response to learning media obtained in small group test is very interesting with an average score of 3.64. In the large group, test obtained criteria attractiveness is very interesting with an average score of 3.47.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication skills of high school students in terms of guardian and idealist personality types. Subjects in this study were taken using a purposive random sampling technique of two students from class X senior high school in Bandar Lampung with different personality types, that is one student with guardian personality type and one student with a idealist personality type based on David Keirsey's personality dimensions, with personality type initial guardian (NAP) and initial idealist personality type (DBD). Mathematical communication skills are analyzed based on the following criteria : (1) the ability to write down what is known and asked about the questions; (2) the ability to write answers according to the purpose of the questions; (3) the ability to write down reasons for answering questions; (4) the ability to make mathematical terms and symbols; (5) the ability to make images that are relevant to the questions; (6) the ability to make conclusions in their own language. The results showed that subjects with guardian personality type were only able to master the five criteria of mathematical communication ability. The subject was unable to conclude with his own language. The results showed that subjects with idealist personality type were only able to master the five criteria of mathematical communication ability but the subject does not master the third criterian, the subject is unable to write down the reasons for answering the question.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of pop-up boxes that are effective and in accordance with the criteria for autistic children. This type of research used in this research is research and development (Research and Development). In this study using ADDIE research methods, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Data collection techniques used were test and non-test instruments, data analysis techniques to calculate the validity of the media, students' responses and the effectiveness of instructional media. Validation in this research is based on the validation of media experts and students to determine the response and effectiveness of the resulting media. The results of validation by media experts are 2.67 with the criteria of "quite valid". The response of students 3.27 with very interesting responses. The results of the effectiveness test with a percentage of 66% with effective criteria. Based on the data obtained shows that learning media is feasible to use and effectively applied in learning
