Abstract

The digitalization of chemistry education plays a crucial role in providing equal learning, this study is essential due to the persistent learning gaps experienced by slow learners in digital chemistry instruction. This study investigated the competency development of two slow learners at SMAN 10 Surabaya through the implementation of digital student worksheets (e-LAPD) focused on balancing chemical equations and Nomenclature of Ionic and Covalent bonds, combined with individualized strategies integrated with the UDL strategy delivered via the Liveworksheet platform. Qualitative data from semi-structured interviews and observations were analyzed using NVivo 11, comparing competencies at the start and end of the learning process. This analysis identified three key competencies: explaining scientific phenomena, interpreting data, and analyzing and evaluating scientific evidence. To supplement the qualitative results, pretest and posttest assessments were conducted, revealing significant improvements in competency. Specifically, students showed an average 40% increase in both the DA and E categories when balancing chemical equations. In contrast, for the Nomenclature of Ionic and Covalent bonds, DA scores rose by 80%, while E scores improved by 100%. The findings confirm that the use of e-LAPD with individualized learning strategies effectively promotes competency improvement among slow learners in chemistry education, guiding future instructional development.

Abstract

Educational supervisors’ competence plays a strategic role in enhancing the quality of Islamic education. This study aims to examine the conceptual framework, roles, and strategies for strengthening supervisors’ competencies within the context of Islamic education. The research employs a library research design using a qualitative content analysis approach through the stages of decontextualization and recontextualization. The analytical process involves: (1) data reduction through the selection and summarization of key points from primary and secondary sources; (2) categorization based on thematic dimensions of supervisory competence; and (3) interpretation and conceptual synthesis to construct a coherent and systematic argument. The findings reveal that supervisory competence encompasses six principal dimensions: personal competence, managerial supervision, academic supervision, educational evaluation, research and development, and social competence integrated with Islamic values. These dimensions collectively contribute to strengthening teachers’ professionalism, enhancing institutional management effectiveness, and improving the quality of value-based learning in Islamic educational institutions. The study further emphasizes that strategies for developing supervisors’ competence should be systematically designed through continuous professional development programs, enhancement of research capacity and digital literacy, mentoring and value-based coaching grounded in Islamic principles, as well as performance evaluation based on measurable quality indicators. Therefore, the development of supervisory competence should not merely be regarded as regulatory compliance, but rather as a strategic investment in sustaining the quality and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

This study examines the influence of cross-school coordination on team performance within Islamic Integrated Junior High Schools in the Riau Islands Province. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research explores how collaborative mechanisms, shared leadership practices, and inter-school communication contribute to managerial effectiveness and organizational stability. Findings indicate that structured coordination activities enhance strategic decision-making, strengthen professional competence, and foster a coherent institutional culture. Cross-school collaboration also supports the development of shared norms, improves the accuracy of performance evaluation, and increases operational efficiency through streamlined administrative processes. These interactions create a supportive environment that enables leaders to address challenges more responsively while encouraging innovation and accountability. Overall, cross-school coordination plays a pivotal role in elevating team performance and strengthening institutional capacity across Islamic Integrated educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the Inset Lexicon and MBERT sentiment labeling methods for analyzing sentiment related to the Danantara issue using a Support Vector Machine (SVM) with Linear, RBF, Polynomial, and Sigmoid kernels. The main issues in this study are the suboptimal sentiment labeling methods for Indonesian-language data that can accurately capture linguistic context, as well as the uncertainty regarding the best labeling method when combined with various TF-IDF-based SVM kernels. Model evaluation uses metrics such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-score, and Cross-validation (CV). The results show that the Inset Lexicon labeling method with a Linear kernel yields the highest Accuracy of 81% with a CV of 78%, Precision of 87%, and Recall of 92%. The RBF kernel achieved an Accuracy of 78% with a CV of 76%, followed by the Sigmoid kernel at 79% Accuracy with a CV of 76%, and the Polynomial kernel at 65% Accuracy with a CV of 65%. The highest F1-score for the negative class using the Linear kernel reached 89%. Meanwhile, in MBERT labeling, the highest accuracy was achieved by the RBF kernel at 72% with a CV of 71%, followed by the Linear kernel with an accuracy of 71%, then the Polynomial kernel with an accuracy of 68%, and the Sigmoid kernel with an accuracy of 67%. The highest F1-score was found in the negative class at 79% using the RBF kernel. Overall, the negative class showed the most consistent performance, while the neutral class had the lowest Recall and F1-score values for almost all kernel types. These findings confirm that an in-depth comparative analysis between lexicon-based and deep learning-based approaches demonstrates that methods such as the Inset Lexicon can deliver better and more stable performance on Indonesian-language data.
