Abstract

This research aims to find out validity and reliability of mini research based learning material supplement for fifth graders primary school. This research and development (R&D) had stages started from: identifying potency and problem, collecting the data by using questionnaire, observation, interview, pre-test question and post-test, designing product in the form of mini research based learning material under theme respiration system of human as learning supplement with current developed topic about the danger of smoking for human health, validating the design done by media and material experts, revising the design based on judgment, critics, and experts? advices, and testing the products done at VB graders of Islamic Primary School Ta?allamul Huda Bumiayu. The data was analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The finding showed that the media and the subject content experts giving average score of 3.48 (87%) and 3.94 (98.33%), respectively. Based on the teacher?s judgment, the average score obtained 3.20 (80%) and judgment given by students showed average score 3.82 (95.49%). The judgment from media and subject content experts, teachers, and students showed that the supplement was reliable. The implementation of this product to measure conceptual understanding and showed improvement from 42.54 into 74.77 with N-gain 0.55, categorized as moderate. The students? attitudes dealing with smoking showed N-gain 0.39, categorized moderate with improvement score from 82.33 into 87.67, categorized to gave negative respons for smoking attitude. The learning material supplement based on mini research under theme human respiration system was valid and reliable to be used as learning materials for fifth graders.

Abstract

Learning process at senior high school still based on textbook oriented. It makes students less concerned with the environment especially the school environment where they study. Such condition requires a real action to solve so that the level of environmental awareness of the students is increased. This research aims to determine the relevance of research on teaching materials, ethnopedagogics, and environmental awareness character as well as the effectiveness of ethno pedagogic-based-teaching materials on environmental awareness character for senior high school students based on literature review. This research uses the literature review method to obtain the data. Teaching materials provide added value when sourced from the environment around the school (ethnopedagogic). Ethnopedagogy–based-teaching materials will increase character cares for the environment of high school students.

Abstract

The implementation of the curriculum of 2013 entrusts of innovative and creative learning with the integration of technology in the learning process. Teachers should be creative in finding and gathering learning resources, as well as making teaching materials needed in learning that can help students in learning to achieve goals in the curriculum. So it is necessary to develop learning media based on My Android Biology App in schools in learning biology. Especially in the food digestive system material can be motivate the student and the result of learning. The aim of this study is (1) to analyze the validity of the My Biology App according to media experts and material experts, (2) to analyze the feasibility of the my biology app according to teacher and student responses, (3) to analyze student learning motivation and (4) to analyze the result of learning at student. The method of research is Research and Development (R & D). Pre-Posttest Control Group is the research design. The results of the validation from media experts and material experts indicate that the learning media My Biology App is very valid. It appears in teacher responses with an average of 97.62 and student responses with an average of 108 with a percentage of 90% suitable for use in learning activities. The effectiveness is determined from the motivation data and student learning outcomes. 63% of students are highly motivated and 37% are motivated. The results of the posttest in the experimental class with an average of 86.96 greater than the posttest in the control class with an average of 83.25. In addition, the n-gain in the experimental class 0.74 is greater than the control class with an n-gain of 0.70. It can be concluded based on the results of research that the learning media My Biology App can increase motivation and student learning outcomes in the food digestive system material.

Abstract

This Study aims to analyze the validity and effectiveness of ?inokreat? LKS based on inquiry on the impact of smoking on health. This research is designed as Research and Development (R & D) research consisting of 10 stages: potential and problem stage through questionnaire and interview method, data collection phase, LKS product design, LKS design validation by expert to test the validity of LKS, revision phase I, small scale in 10 random class VIII students, second phase revision, large-scale trial in one class VIII with 29 students to analyze the effectiveness of LKS on learning, product revision, and finished product. Expert judgment result on LKS "inokreat" based on inquiry on the impact of cigarette on health shows that LKS of valid development result is used in learning with percentage of material feasibility aspect 85% and media feasibility aspect 97,2% with criteria very feasible. The results of large-scale trials show that LKS "inokreat" is effective against students' learning outcomes with an average NGain score of 0.61 indicating an increase in learning outcomes from pretest to posttest in moderate categories. The average completeness of the classical students reached 89.65%. The average percentage of practicum skills was 88.5% and the presentation skills were 87.85% with very good category and the average of student discussion activity was 75.7% with the active category and the students' responses were 74.8% with the agreed category.

Abstract

Lack of drug hazard knowledge becomes one of the drug abuse causes. Drug knowledge (psychotropic-addictive substances) will foster a negative attitude such as a rejection reaction towards drug abuse. Such attitudes may prevent or address drug abuse problems. That prevention needs to be done as early as possible by providing knowledge about drugs trough the school educations. This study would find the relationship between addictive and psychotropic substance knowledge with the attitude on drug abuse and how much that constriction in JHS  students' attitudes. This research method is a survey method with an analytical observational design. The population in this study was all junior high school students in the Semarang North District with five classes (grade IX) as samples taken from three schools in the sub-district. The data collection measuring instruments used in this study is questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study show that more than 50% of students have high knowledge of psychotropic and addictive substances and have a negative attitude towards drug abuse. Data analysis results are obtained by a correlation coefficient value (r) of 0.971 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.942. The R value indicates a positive correlation while the R2 value is how much constricting it is. Based on the results of the study, concluded that the knowledge of psychotropic-addictive substances with the rejection attitudes of drug abuse has a positive and very strong relationship. And as much as 94.2% of the psychotropic addictive substance knowledge is constricting in the formation of students ' attitudes towards drug abuse.

Abstract

Based on KD (Basic Competence) 3.8 and 4.8 of class XI curriculum 2013 in respiration system material, in learning must be started from relevant facts often faced by students, one of which is in the subject of respiratory system disorders. Along with the development of age, respiratory system disorders caused by exposure to cigarettes are a problem that often occurs in adolescents. So, it is necessary to supplement teaching materials that support the main teaching materials to achieve these learning goals. The purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of supplementary respiratory system teaching materials developed. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method based on 10 steps of R & D research in Sugiyono (2015). The test and indicators for determining the feasibility and effectiveness of supplementary teaching materials are (1) feasibility tests include the study test and readability test each ? 51%, (2) test the effectiveness in improving learning outcomes with classical completeness test ? 70% of students who achieved a value of ? 70, medium to high N-gain test, and sensitivity index items ? 0.30, (3) effectiveness test in growing students' caring attitudes students with the percentage scale score of caring attitude ? 51%. The results show that the feasibility test is obtained by a 95% review test and 93% readability test, the effectiveness test for improving learning outcomes showed 87.5% of classical completeness results, N-gain score 0.7 (high), item sensitivity index questions 0.4 (sensitive), the effectiveness test in growing caring attitude shows overall on the caring criteria (there are 2 students or 6.25%) and very caring (there are 30 students or 93.75%). The conclusions in this study are respiration system supplementary material as supplementary teaching material is appropriate and effective in improving learning outcomes and also effectively fostering caring attitudes of students towards the dangers of e-cigarettes for health.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa modul IPA terpadu berbasis mastery and meaningful learning pada tema manfaat cahaya bagi kehidupan di kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian dan pengembangan (Reseach and Development)). Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan modul IPA terpadu berbasis mastery and meaningful learning yang dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah Cilongok dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil uji kelayakan modul IPA terpadu oleh pakar isi sebesar 3,5, pakar penyajian 3,76, dan pakar bahasa 3,5. Tingkat ketuntasan klasikal siswa 100% dengan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 85,43 dan keaktifan siswa secara klasikal sebesar 86,05%. Angket tanggapan guru memiliki presentase sebesar 100%, angket tanggapan siswa dalam uji coba skala kecil sebesar 95%, dan uji coba skala besar sebesar 97%. Uji keterlaksanaan pembelajaran memiliki skor rata-rata 3,32. Hal ini berarti modul IPA terpadu yang dikembangkan layak, efektif, dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah yang diteliti. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak, efektif, dan praktis The purpose of this research is to develop instructional materials in the form of an integrated science module mastery and meaningful learning based on the theme of light benefits for life in junior high school. This study uses a design research and development (Reseach and Development). Results of studies using science module integrated based on mastery and meaningful learning which was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Cilongok is  analyzed descriptive quantitatively. Results of validity integrated science module by expert of content is 3.54, 3.76 presenting experts, and linguists 3.5. Students’s target achievment is 100% by  average of 85.43 students’s activities generally is 86.05%. Teachers questionaire present 100%, and students respondents in the small-scale validity show 95%, while in large-scale show 97%. Test feasibility study has average score of 3.32. This means that the integrated science module which has been developed is feasible, and simple to be used in teaching and learning science at the schools under study. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the module dveloped is feasible, effective, and practical.

Abstract

The training of intensive breeding management has been carried out for duck farmers at district Wedung - Demak, on July-August 2013. The training was conducted in three activities, namely: (a) the transfer of knowledge about technique of preparing duck feed by available material, intensive maintenance , and incubator hatching technique; (b) implementation of intensive maintenance for the fertile eggs product, and (c) the practice of using the hatching incubator. Participants were duck farmer at Mutih Kulon and Tedunan, that maintain their ducks with extensive (grazing method). The results showed that the 27 participants who took the training have never been participated in the training of duck management. The reason of farmer breeding with grazing method, because they follow the habits of their parents. Most participants know that the maintenance of grazing method is bad, and they know that the intensive maintenance will increase the profits. The Proximate analysis of ration duck showed that its composition has taught balanced feed criteria. Production of eggs in the intensive maintenance hatchability reached 92%, eventhough the experiment at the farmer level reached 70.5% only.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectivity of the leaf garbage composting process were given three different kinds of activators.The material composed are chopped leaf garbage and goat manure in the ratio of 3: 2, and make in three activators treatments. There are activators of orange peel waste, vegetable waste and EM4 product as a comparison. Compost is harvested after the composting process lasted for 21 days. The variables measured include (1) changes in daily temperature, pH, humidity compost during the composting process, (2) quality parameters such as physical parameters (texture, colour, odor, and depreciation), and chemical parameters (water content, pH, and C/N ratio). All of data were analyzed descriptively. The changes of daily temperature, pH, and humidity on EM4 compost activator treatment showed highest depreciation (39.3%) followed by compost with vegetable Mol and waste orange peel ( 31.6% and 29.8%), while the graphs of pH and humidity appear constant during this process. Accordance with the percentage of the depreciation, C/N ratio of the compost with EM4 activator showed the lowest (14.73). Generally, parameters of texture, colour and odor no different, as well as the water content and pH. This study concludes that composting treatment successfully and produce compost according to the criteria of SNI standard Number 19-7030-2004.

Abstract

Lack of awareness and limited information about the dangers of e-cigarettes among teenagers, especially high school students, make them assume that e-cigarettes are a safe alternative to reduce smoking habit. This can be circumvented through the development of teaching materials that are tailored to the needs of students. This research aims to develop teaching materials about the negative effects of e-cigarettes as a source of learning for high school students and analyze their validity, readability, and feasibility. This development research uses 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) design. The subjects of this research include material and media experts, students of class XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 SMAN 12 Semarang and teachers who are members of senior high school biology teachers forum in Rembang Regency. The results showed the validation scores of material and media experts were 83.00% and 97.70%, respectively, with very valid criteria. Analysis of the readability of teaching materials from the results of student responses and the cloze test, respectively obtained an average score of 86.20% and 84% with very good and independent criteria. Analysis of the feasibility of teaching materials from the results of teacher responses at the senior high school biology teachers forum in Rembang, obtained an average score of 83.70% with very feasible criteria. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that teaching materials about the negative effects of e-cigarettes are valid, it has good readability, and feasible to use as a source of learning for high school students. The teaching material is expected to be able to add insight and knowledge about the negative effects of e-cigarette exposure and to contribute better in improving the quality of learning resources.
