Abstract

This study aims to increase learning outcomes and science process skills of students using modules based on scientific contextual. This is a type of research and development (R&D) with the development procedure of Sugiyono's model with the pre-experimental design method with the form of one group pretest posttest design. Increased student learning outcomes and science process skills is explored through the observation sheet, then analyzed using N-gain. The results showed that modules based on scientific contextual could increase student learning outcomes with N-gains of 0.481 (medium) in class VIII 6 and 0.446 (medium) in class VIII 7. Science process skills of students experienced an increase in each aspect namely observing, classification, interpreting, and communication with N-gain acquisition amounting to 0.08 (low); 0.05 (low); 0.25 (low); and 0.07 (low) for class VIII 6, while science process skills in class VIII 7 experienced an increase in each aspect with N-gain acquisition equal to 0.3 (medium); 0.3 (medium); 0.5 (medium); and 0.5 (medium). Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the development of modules based on scientific contextual effectively increasing student learning outcomes and science process skills.

Science learning based on the 2013 curriculum is implemented in scientific inquiry to develop scientific work. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of guided inquiry model with mind mapping to improve science process skill and student learning motivation. The research is used quasi experimental model with nonequivalent control group design. Data collection methods used in this research include test methods, observation, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed by using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the use of guided inquiry model with mind mapping effective to improve science process skill and motivation of fourth grade student of SDN Krobokan. There is a significant difference of science skill score between experimental and control class with significance level of 5%. The acquisition of experimental class obtain N-Gain value of 0.47 in medium category and control class 0.27 in low category. The guided inquiry model with mind mapping is also effective in student learning motivation. This is evidenced by the score of motivation to learn in the experimental class that is 76 on the satisfied category and control class of 72 in good category. The results of correlation test shows a very strong relationship between the science process skills with student learning motivation. It shown from the correlation value of 0.938 with 1% significance level and the direction of positive relationships,. It can be conclude that the higher the score of students' science process skills the higher the student learning motivation.

Abstract

Secara umum kedua kompos masuk kategori layak digunakan berdasarkan standar SNI No. 19-7030-2004. 4 4

Abstract

Biology subjects in Pharmacy Vocational High Schools are not yet integrated with pharmacy subjects even though biology subjects have a close relationship with pharmacy fields related to organs and medicines in the human digestive system. This research aims to analyze the science process skills and learning outcomes in the inquiry learning model with a mini research strategy as a supporting of pharmacy science in Vocational High Schools. This research uses quasy experiment research with pretest posttest control group design. Analysis of learning outcomes using the independent sample t-test, N-Gain test, and N-Gain t-test to see differences in the value of learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. Analysis of science process skills uses the average score of observations of science process skills. To see whether the research can supporting Vocational Pharmacy Science is analyzed using descriptive analysis of interviews with vocational productive teachers. The result of the value of learning outcomes get data that the value of learning outcomes of the experimental class is better than the control class, while the science process skills of students in the experimental class are better than the control class. Descriptive analysis of interview productive teacher shows that this study can be used as a supported of pharmacy science in Vocational High Schools. Analysis of the value of student learning outcomes, science process skills and Interview productive teacher shows that inquiry learning models with mini research strategies can support subjects related to pharmacy.

Abstract

The separation of religious values from the substance of science learning is the main problem experienced by Islamic Based Schools with Integrated Curriculum. This causes disharmony relations between the subjects diniyah and general. So students are not able to get a rational understanding of Natural Sciences supported by the Qur'anic and Sunnah propositions. Planting religious values through the application of the Learning Module is expected to be able to contribute maximally to the learning outcomes of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the learning module to improve student learning outcomes. This study uses a research and development approach (R&D). The fund is through three stages namely; introduction, development and validation, by testing the experimental and control class using modules as the difference variables. The results of the study prove that the module is suitable for use in learning based on expert validation of 95%, teacher responses by 85.2%, student responses 84%, the average difference test of two classes is 0.0011 with alpha 0.05 which means that the differences in learning outcomes between the two classes significant. This proves that the use of natural science modules in the Human Blood Circulatory System material can improve student learning outcomes in class VIII SMPIT ITTIHADUL MUWAHIDIN Pati

Abstract

One of the 21st century life skills that needs to be developed in the education process is critical thinking skills. The importance of being trained in critical thinking skills in learning science is motivated by the results of the 2015 PISA test. critical thinking as 'the correct way of assessing statements' and 'reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do'. In this study, indicators of critical thinking skills measured are providing simple explanations, building basic skills, providing further explanations, and concluding. One potential learning approach to help students become actively involved in learning activities and be able to improve critical thinking skills is the STEM approach. The purpose of this research is to develop a STEM approach digital book with certain characteristics, determine its validity, its practicality, and its effectiveness of the product towards improving students' critical thinking skills. This study uses a development plan from Sugiyono. The subjects of this research are the 8th graders of SMPN 26 Semarang, academic year 2019/2020. The sample as an experimental class (the product is applied in the learning process) is VIII B class, and the control class (used ordinary textbooks) is VIII D class. Data analysis techniques used in this study include descriptive data analysis related to the validity and practicality of the product, while to find out the effectiveness of the product used a normalized N-gain test and a two-sample t-test. Results show that (1) the characteristics of the digital book contained all components of the STEM approach which included aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (2) the developed digital book has valid criteria regarding to the material, media and language aspects (3) digital book developed effectively to improve students' critical thinking skills, and (4) the practicality of using digital book is considered very good by students and teachers).
