Abstract

This article will discuss the strategies used by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in responding to the crisis of public trust in the Bantimurung District. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques involve in-depth interviews, field observations, and the study of relevant documents regarding Bawaslu's work program. Research informants consist of the Chairperson and members of Bawaslu, community leaders, political party officials, and the general public. The research findings indicate that Bawaslu's main strategies include increasing information transparency through mass media broadcasts and periodic meetings with stakeholders; optimizing the supervision functions to prevent money politics and campaign violations at the sub-district/village level; improving public complaint services; and massive socialization of Bawaslu's roles and functions to schools, community organizations, and the general public. However, the implementation of these strategies is still not fully effective due to obstacles such as human resources, budget constraints, inter-agency coordination, and lack of regulatory support. The conclusion of this research is that strong commitment and collaboration are needed from various stakeholders, including local governments and regional representative councils (DPRD), to support efforts to restore public trust in Bawaslu in the Bantimurung District.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the mechanisms of social‑media use, primarily Instagram and WhatsApp groups, in building social awareness on Lae‑Lae Island, and to analyse the role of social media in organising collective actions of the Lae‑Lae Island fishermen community. The reclamation plan triggers resistance because it is perceived to threaten both the marine ecosystem and the livelihoods of residents. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilising a case-study method, which involves in-depth interviews with eight key informants purposively selected, participant observation in both physical and digital spaces, and document analysis of content and visuals. The study is analysed using resource-mobilisation theory and relational network‑solidarity theory. Findings show that the media play an important role in facilitating the formation of social solidarity among the fishing community. Social media shape collective identity, become a space for sharing information and joint narratives that strengthen the consensus against reclamation, and also serve as a digital mobilisation tool for organising collective actions. The synergy between solidarity networks, activists, NGOs, students, the Kawal Pesisir alliance, and community members supported by media communication strategies strengthens the fishermen community’s capacity to mobilise resources, formulate demands, influence public opinion, and sustain the anti‑reclamation movement on Lae‑Lae Island.

Abstract

The phenomenon of child marriage is a social event that must be taken seriously because it greatly affects the lives of adolescents entering adulthood. Wajo Regency is included in the three main areas in South Sulawesi province with a high rate of child marriage under 16 years old with more than 23 cases, namely Bone, Wajo, and Soppeng Regencies. This article aims to find out the causes of child marriage in the Wajo regency area and build awareness of the dangers of child marriage. The method used is a literature study obtained from books and scientific articles that are in accordance with the research theme. Article data is obtained from various journals and Google Scholar databases. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The findings of this study are that there are four factors that cause the high rate of child marriage in Wajo Regency, first: cultural stigma attached to society such as early matchmaking; second, the discontinuation of children's education; third, the influence of social media on children; and four, the economic problems of parents. So the importance of the role of parents, schools, communities and the government in anticipating the high rate of child marriage

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out: 1) Overview of smart TV multimedia learning media in the field of sociology studies at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba. 2) Overview of student learning activity in the field of sociology at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba. 3) The influence of the use of smart TV multimedia media on student learning activity in the field of sociology studies at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba. This study used a type of quantitative research with a descriptive approach, the total population in this study was 126 people. The process of determining the sample size using propability sampling techniques, namely proportionate stratified random sampling which is determined through the Slovin formula and obtained a sample number of 97 people. Data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and documentation. Validity test using Bivariate Person correlation technique and reliability test using Alpha Cronbach. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and inferential statistical analysis through the help of IBM SPSS Statistics application version 25 for Windows.The results of this study show that: 1) The description of multimedia smart TV learning media in the field of sociology studies at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba is in the "high" category which shows the average score value (mean) of multimedia smart TV variables of 76.51 whose percentage rate is 76.50%. 2) The description of student learning activity in the field of sociology at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba occupies the "high" category which shows the average value of student learning activity variables is 97.40 with a percentage rate of 77.92%. 3) There is an influence between multimedia variables smart TV on variables of student learning activity at UPT SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba. This statement is evidenced from the significance value of 0.000<0.05 and the calculated value of 12.146 > t table 1.66071, so that the acquisition shows that variable X has an effect on variable Y. Then to find out the magnitude of the influence value between the two variables can be obtained from the R Square value of 0.608 which means that the multimedia smart TV variable (X) affects student learning activity (Y) simultaneously by 60.8% and the remaining 39.2% is influenced by other factors Outside of research.

Abstract

This research seeks to ascertain: 1) the execution of inclusive protection for the elderly in Manggali Village, Pallangga Sub District, Gowa District; and 2) the obstacles to comprehensive social protection for the elderly in Manggali Village, Pallangga Sub District, Gowa District. This study is qualitative and utilizes a descriptive methodology, and also employs a purposive sample method to identify informants, comprising the elderly, government personnel from Mangalli Village, community members, and older cadres. The data collection methods were observation, interviews, and documentation. The study confirms the validity of the data via source triangulation and utilizes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion formulation as techniques of analysis. The research findings indicate that firstly, Government initiatives, including administrative services, social assistance, social services, and social security, offer comprehensive social protection for the elderly in Mangalli Village, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. Secondly, The obstacles to inclusive social protection in Mangalli Village, Pallangga Sub District, Gowa District encompassing the health status of the elderly, the incomplete documentation of elderly individuals lacking identity cards (KTPs) and family cards, the absence of annual updates to government data, and insufficient budget allocation.

Abstract

Active community participation in the election process is very important in guarding this democratic party. Of course there is dynamics in this participation. Apart from that, the transformation of the tudang sipulung culture towards open discussion and the phenomenon of money politics are part of the dynamics of active community participation in this election process. Abstract

Money politics remains prevalent across all levels of electoral contests, where the public easily accepts gifts from candidates, risking the integrity of the democratic process. This phenomenon warrants thorough investigation to understand the forms of money politics during the 2024 election in Pinrang Regency and its influence on voters' decisions for Legislative Candidates (Caleg). This research employs a quantitative descriptive design with survey methods, supplemented by interview data. A simple cluster random sampling was used, with questionnaires completed by 99 respondents. Data were analyzed using simple regression techniques with SPSS software. The findings are interpreted through Social Exchange Theory and S-O-R (Stimulus-Organism-Response) theory, offering a novel approach compared to prior studies. Results indicate that forms of money politics in Pinrang including cash, basic necessities, and promises have a positive and significant correlation with voter decisions, with a probability value of 0.001 (below the 0.05 significance level). The correlation coefficient also signifies a fairly strong relationship between these variables. These findings highlight the critical need to enhance political literacy among the community and reinforce strong commitments from election organizers and participants to uphold democratic principles.

Abstract

Pulau Barrang Lompo dengan luas lebih kurang 49 Ha dihuni sebanyak 5.227 jiwa dengan mata pencaharian utama penduduknya, yaitu 70% di sektor perikanan, baik sebagai nelayan maupun perdagangan hasil laut. masalah utama yang dihadapi oleh komunitas masyarakat nelayan, termasuk nelayan di Pulau Barrang Lompo, yaitu kemiskinan. Sementara kemiskinan atau tingkat kesejahteraan berhubungan dengan tingkat literasi masyarakat. Warga yang literat dan kehidupan yang berkualitas merupakan ciri negara maju. Kesejahteraan keluarga akan berdampak pada ketahanan keluarga, keluarga dengan ekonomi baik cenderung memiliki ketahanan keluarga yang kuat, sebaliknya keluarga dengan ekonomi yang buruk cenderung memiliki ketahanan keluarga yang lemah. Tujuan pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah memberikan pemahaman kepada ibu-ibu istri nelayan mengenai literasi keluarga dan pentingnya peningkatan ketahanan keluarga. Selain itu, juga bertujuan memberikan keterampilan literasi untuk diimplementasikan di dalam keluarga. Kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan menggunakan model pemberdayaan dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: 1) Tahap Persiapan; 2) Tahap Assesment; 3) Tahap Perencanaan Program atau Kegiatan; 4) Tahap Pemformulasian Rencana Aksi; 5) Tahap Pelaksanaan Program atau Kegiatan; serta 6) Tahap Evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam 2 tahap menunjukkan ketercapaian tujuan pelaksanaan, di mana peserta tidak sekedar memahami materi yang diberikan tetapi juga sudah mulai mengimplementasikan secara bertahap dalam lingkungan keluarga masing- masing.

The aim of this research is to determine the adaptive strategies of farming communities in dealing with the dry season in Tappale Village. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation methods. The results of field research show that: There are two adaptive strategies carried out by farming communities in facing economic difficulties caused by the cessation of agricultural activities when the dry season arrives, namely making savings, and looking for other work to increase income during the dry season

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi terjadinya pengasuhan fatherless pada mahasiswa FIS-H Universitas Negeri Makassar, dan (2) dampak fatherless terhadap kehidupan mahasiswa FIS-H. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran (mix methods) dengan pendekatan dominan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa 65% mahasiswa teridentifikasi mengalami kondisi fatherless dan faktor paling dominan adalah kurangnya kedekatan emosional dengan ayah (44%), yang ditandai dengan pola asuh yaitu minimnya komunikasi, keterlibatan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, serta lemahnya dukungan emosional. Hasil dari penelitian memperlihatkan bahwasanya: (1) terdapat mahasiswa yang tinggal serumah dengan ayah, namun tidak merasakan kedekatan emosional karena sejak kecil ayahnya terlalu sibuk bekerja di luar rumah. Beberapa informan juga mengalami KDRT, hingga berujung pada perceraian orang tua. Terdapat pula ayah yang hanya menjalankan fungsi finansial dan hampir tidak terlibat dalam pengasuhan, yang mencerminkan pengaruh budaya patriarki di mana peran ayah direduksi hanya sebagai pencari nafkah. (2) Dampak dari kondisi fatherless menurunnya kepercayaan diri, kesulitan dalam membangun relasi sosial, dan pelarian emosional melalui hubungan asmara yang tidak sehat. Beberapa mahasiswa juga mengalami tekanan ekonomi karena harus mencukupi kebutuhan pendidikan secara mandiri. Sebagian lainnya merasa bingung dalam membentuk jati diri karena tidak memiliki figur ayah sebagai panutan. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya disfungsi dalam sistem keluarga yang dianalisis menggunakan teori fungsionalisme struktural Robert K. Merton, di mana peran ayah yang tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya menimbulkan ketidakseimbangan sosial dan gangguan dalam perkembangan anak.
