Abstract

This study aims to explore the understanding and experiences of community health cadres in carrying out public health service tasks amid changes in minimum service standards. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 19 informants and analyzed using the Interactive Analysis Model supported by NVivo 12 Plus for Windows. The findings reveal that health cadres experience excessive workloads due to increasing task demands that must be completed within limited timeframes, while the compensation received remains below expectations. At the same time, cadres are required to meet increasingly complex work standards in line with the development of primary health care policies. These conditions heighten the risk of burnout and negatively affect the quality of services delivered to the community. In addition, cadres’ competencies and communication skills in providing health services have not yet reached an optimal level. The practical implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening health cadre professionalism through clear and well-structured work design, supported by capacity building, training, and continuous professional development as key dimensions of educational management to improve service quality sustainably.

Abstract

The small bungur plant (Lagerstroemia indica L.) is one of the plants with potential as a medicinal plant. Almost all parts of this plant can be used, namely the leaves, stems, fruit and roots. Bungur leaves can be used for skin diseases, leaf powder for malaria, and decoction of old leaves for diabetes. Bungur leaves contain chemical compounds, one of which is flavonoids. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content of extracts from young and old leaves of local cherry blossoms (small bungur), using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The extraction method used was multistage maceration using three different solvents: hexane (nonpolar), ethyl acetate (semipolar), and methanol (polar). The results showed that the average total flavonoid content of young leaf extracts and old leaves of small bungur, measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a maximum wavelength of 410 nm, was 8.810 mg/100g and 7.301 mg/100g, respectively. Among the three solvents used, extracts of young and old leaves of small bungur using hexane and ethyl acetate do not contain flavonoids, whereas extracts of young and old leaves of small bungur using methanol do.

Abstract

Tea dregs are household organic waste materials that can be utilized as low-cost adsorbents for heavy metal removal. Previous studies mainly employed green tea dregs and focused on Cu(II) adsorption, while studies on Fe(III) adsorption using black tea dregs and their direct application to Fe-contaminated water remain limited. This study evaluates the adsorption performance of black tea dregs toward Fe(III) ions and their application in water samples. Batch adsorption experiments were conducted using FeCl₃ solutions at pH 4.8 to determine the optimum contact time (15–90 minutes) and initial concentration (100–300 ppm). Fe(III) concentrations were analyzed using UV–Vis spectrophotometry. The results demonstrated an optimal contact time of 60 min and an optimal concentration, achieving 99.26% adsorption efficiency. Adsorption followed the Langmuir isotherm model with a maximum capacity of 37.04 mg/g (R² = 0.998). Application to well water samples resulted in 83.74% Fe removal, confirming the potential of black tea dregs as adsorbents.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of PMK No. 15/2025, Trust in Government, and Tax Literacy on Tax Compliance, with Digital Services as a moderating variable. Data were collected from 100 individual and corporate taxpayers registered at KPP Pratama Cimahi, selected using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. Most respondents belong to the Gen Z age group (17–25 years), representing a generation highly familiar with technology and digital platforms, making them relevant to the study’s focus on digital transformation in taxation. Using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, the study analyzes direct and moderating relationships to assess the model’s explanatory power. The results show that PMK No. 15/2025 and Tax Literacy have a strong positive impact on Tax Compliance, while Trust in Government has a negative but significant effect. Digital Services significantly moderate the relationship between PMK No. 15/2025 and Tax Compliance but fail to strengthen the effects of Trust in Government and Tax Literacy. These findings indicate that digital transformation enhances regulatory effectiveness and promotes compliance, especially among digitally literate Gen Z taxpayers. However, the moderating role of digitalization remains limited when trust and literacy are not effectively aligned with the usability of the tax system

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine how the Bissu, as non-binary ritual leaders in Bugis society, sustain their identity and ritual authority amid shifting religious, cultural, and political landscapes. Method: The research adopts a qualitative approach using a phenomenological orientation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Bissu practitioners, community members, and government representatives, complemented by participant observation of rituals and cultural performances in Segeri, Pangkajene and Kepulauan (Pangkep), South Sulawesi. Data analysis was conducted through thematic and narrative techniques to identify recurring patterns related to lived experiences, adaptation strategies, and transformations of ritual authority. Findings: The findings reveal three main patterns. First, the Bissu experience a weakening of social recognition accompanied by stigma and economic vulnerability, despite their continued visibility in cultural events. Second, they actively employ religious and cultural adaptation strategies, integrating Islamic practices such as prayer, Barzanji recitation, and pilgrimage alongside traditional rituals. Third, Bissu ritual authority is being redefined from sacred, community-based leadership toward more symbolic and institutionally mediated roles, particularly through government-sponsored cultural and heritage programmes. Implications These findings contribute to debates on non-binary indigenous leadership by demonstrating that ritual authority is shaped not only by cosmology but also by institutional and political arenas where recognition is negotiated. Practically, the study suggests that cultural and local government policies should move beyond event-based recognition toward more sustainable support that enables the Bissu to maintain ritual roles within their communities. Originality: This study offers an original, voice-driven account grounded in Bissu narratives and direct observation, moving beyond symbolic or historical analyses. It introduces a two-level model of adaptation and conceptualises ritual authority as a dynamic process of contemporary negotiation rather than a fixed traditional status.

Abstract

This study aims to longitudinally describe the metacognitive skills and external representation in the context of problem-solving at Chemistry Education, Tadulako University. The qualitative study respondents were selected from a number of first year students for two consecutive semesters. Two respondents were selected based on results of selection using a metacognitive skills assessment questionnaire (MCAI) and we categorized as high and medium. Three problems were resolved by respondents at intervals of one to two weeks in each semester through a one-on-one thinking aloud and it was followed by a semi-structured interview. Data collection was recorded using a video camera. Metacognitive skills and external representation data from the odd and even semesters were deeply analyzed. This analysis technique was carried out by examining the results of problem solving and semi-structured interviews in detail and matching them with the indicators of metacogni-tive skills and external representation used by both respondents. The data analysis results showed that the thinking ability of respondents with high metacognitive skills in problem solving, experienced developments over time along with the development of their cognitive regulation and external representation. On the other hand, respondents with intermediate metacognitive skills during problem solving, were relatively the same for two consecutive semesters. Therefore, teachers need to consider the use of learning strategies by taking into account the number of students who have dominant characteristics in classroom learning, in terms of metacog-nitive skills and external representation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a differentiated teaching module based on students' learning styles in the Project-Based Learning of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) to improve collaboration skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the study were Grade X students at SMK Negeri 1 Parigi, with 19 students from the Akuntansi dan Keuangan Lembaga (AKL) program as the experimental class and 19 students from the Desain Pemodelan dan Informasi Bangunan (DPIB) program as the control class. Research instruments included expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, cognitive assessment tests (pretest and posttest), and observation sheets for collaboration skills. Validation results showed that the module achieved a validity level of 83%, categorized as valid. The module’s practicality was rated at 92% by teachers and 95% by students, both classified as highly practical. Regarding effectiveness, a comparison of posttest scores between the experimental and control groups yielded a Cohen’s d of 0.93, indicating a large effect on students’ cognitive outcomes. Additionally, within the experimental group, a comparison of pretest and posttest collaboration scores resulted in a Cohen’s d of 0.89, also classified as a large effect. These findings demonstrate that the differentiated teaching module effectively enhances students’ 21st-century skills, particularly collaboration.
