Abstract

The long-term role of Islamic banking as a social intermediation institution is often criticized for failing to reflect the true essence of Islamic financial principles. As a result, Islamic banks are frequently perceived as not significantly different from conventional banks, particularly in addressing the fundamental socio-economic issues of society. This study aims to analyze the implementation of social intermediation based on sharia principles at Bank Sumut Syariah KCP Perdagangan and examine its contribution to the empowerment of micro-enterprises. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with primary data collected through in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that Bank Sumut Syariah has carried out its social intermediation role effectively through financing schemes such as murabahah and musharakah, as well as savings products including general muamalat savings, student savings, Hajj savings, and deposits. The micro-financing procedures involve several stages from application to monitoring. This study fills a gap in the literature by examining local Islamic banking practices and provides insights into accountability and contributions to microeconomic empowerment.

Abstract

Technology has made life more comfortable and efficient for people today. The use of QRIS and other innovative payment systems is influenced by technological developments in all areas, including the banking industry. One of the technological advancements that are in demand today is the use of QRIS as a non-financial payment mechanism. The use of QRIS has become one of the alternative payments in mosques in addition to being used for shopping payments. The Ar-Rahman Mosque is one of the mosques that uses QRIS to raise funds for infacts. This research is intended to study the variables that affect the decision of the Mosque of Ar-Rahman to inflate using QRIS.Ketua BKM Mosque and Jamaah Mosque Ar- Rahman became the main source of data in this research, which is carried out with qualitative descriptive methodology. Secondary data sources come from literature surveys. The percentage of Ar-Rahman Mosque jamaahs using QRIS is currently around 20%; however, as the BKM of the mosque continues to socialize, this number will probably continue to increase. Awareness of QRIS, the ease of using QRIS and the satisfaction of the QRIS users are factors that influence the decision of the Masjid Ar-Rahman to inflate through QRIS.

Abstract

Background (General): Islamic banks play a crucial role in Indonesia’s financial system, with murabahah financing serving as a primary income source. Background (Specific): While murabahah margins are fixed and independent of interest rate fluctuations, macroeconomic variables such as interest rates and inflation may still indirectly affect bank profitability. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies largely focused on annual pre-pandemic data, overlooking quarterly dynamics during the post-pandemic period, when monetary and market conditions changed significantly. Aim: This study examines the effects of murabahah financing, interest rates, and inflation on murabahah margin income in Indonesian Islamic banks during 2020–2024 using quarterly data. Results: Multiple regression analysis of 30 observations from six banks shows murabahah financing has a significant positive effect on margin income, whereas interest rates and inflation show no significant individual impact. Jointly, all three variables significantly influence margin income. Novelty: The research introduces a post-pandemic, quarterly dataset and simultaneously tests three key financial and macroeconomic variables in the murabahah context. Implications: Findings affirm the strategic importance of murabahah financing as a stable revenue driver, suggesting Islamic banks should prioritize financing expansion and operational efficiency over short-term macroeconomic fluctuations when formulating pricing and portfolio strategies.Highlight : Murabahah financing has a significant positive effect on margin income. Interest rates and inflation have no partial effect. All three variables have a simultaneous significant effect. Keywords : Murabahah Financing; Interest Rates; Inflation; Murabahah Margin Income; Islamic Banks

Business competition between banks now shows increasingly tight competition to get customers, so banks are struggling to provide the best services and services. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence of Cross-Selling and up-selling in increasing customer loyalty at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KC Kuala Simpang. This type of research uses quantitative methods, which collect data in the form of questionnaires that are distributed to users or customers of BSI KC Kuala Simpang. The population in this study was 1,200 customers with a sample size of 100. To determine the number of samples taken, the Slovin formula was used. Meanwhile, the analysis technique uses SPSS 25 software, which explains that the Cross Selling and up Selling variables have a positive and significant influence on customer loyalty. Cross-selling and up-selling are two strategies that companies often use to increase sales and increase customer satisfaction. Although they are two different techniques, they are closely related and often work together to maximize sales potential. Both strategies have the same goal, namely increasing the average transaction value per customer. Cross-selling involves selling additional products that are complementary or related to what the customer has already purchased, when it comes to up-selling, the aim is to persuade customers into buying a higher-priced or deluxe version of the product they initially planned to buy.
