Abstract

This article uses qualitative research with a content study approach to analyze the characteristics of the TVRI North Sumatra broadcast media and its role in forming and strengthening unity in Medan, North Sumatra. This study aims to explore information about programs, news, and the social impact of content broadcasted by TVRI Medan. The data collection techniques used in this study were content analysis and in-depth interviews with TVRI Medan personnel. Content analysis was used to examine the various types of programs broadcasted, as well as to assess the diversity and quality of information provided. In-depth interviews were conducted to gain deeper insight from TVRI Medan staff and personnel regarding the program creation process and its impact on viewers. The data analysis technique used was thematic analysis, which focused on identifying the main themes in the broadcast content, and how these themes can influence viewers and play a role in strengthening unity and togetherness in the North Sumatra community. Data obtained from content analysis and interviews were analyzed to find the relationship between broadcast programs, local cultural diversity, and their impact on public perception. The results of the study indicate that TVRI Medan plays a significant role in promoting local culture, as well as acting as a means to strengthen unity in society through the delivery of information and entertainment

Abstract

The role of teacher communication in resolving interpersonal conflicts between students is an important aspect in creating a harmonious and conducive school environment for the learning process. Conflicts between students often occur at school, either due to differences of opinion, behavior, or social competition. In this case, teachers function as mediators who not only identify the source of the conflict, but also manage and resolve the conflict through effective communication. This study aims to examine the role of teacher communication in resolving interpersonal conflicts between students and how the communication approach used can affect the conflict resolution process. The method used in this study is library research. The results of the study show that open, empathetic, and constructive communication from teachers can help students understand their respective perspectives and find adequate solutions. In addition, the teacher's ability to listen, give positive feedback, and use appropriate mediation techniques has proven to be effective in relieving tension and reducing the possibility of recurrence of conflicts in the future. This study concludes that good and structured communication from teachers is very important in maintaining relationships between students and supporting the creation of a more harmonious learning atmosphere in schools.

Abstract

         This article discusses the use of media & cyber counseling for the z generation. As is known, currently technological advances are developing very quickly so that the world of education must also follow the development of this technological progress. This era has entered the next era known as generation Z (gen Z), where this generation tends to be more accustomed to using internet technology and is proficient in using it in everyday life, in fact technology and the internet cannot be separated from the lives of generation Z. For this reason, counseling guidance seeks to keep up with current technology, namely by keeping up with current developments by utilizing media & cyber techniques in conducting counseling sessions. In this way, this technique can help generation Z who want to have counseling sessions anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Layanan cyber konseling telah menjadi solusi inovatif dalam dunia konseling, terutama di era digital saat ini. Layanan ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh keterampilan komunikasi online yang dimiliki oleh konselor maupun klien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran keterampilan komunikasi online dalam meningkatkan kualitas interaksi dan keberhasilan layanan cyber konseling. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan studi kasus pada platform konseling digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan komunikasi online yang efektif, seperti kemampuan menyampaikan pesan dengan jelas, empati digital, penerimaan, pengulangan pernyataan sangat berpengaruh terhadap kepercayaan klien, kenyamanan dalam berbagi masalah, dan keberhasilan konseling. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pelatihan keterampilan komunikasi online bagi konselor untuk memastikan layanan cyber konseling dapat memenuhi kebutuhan klien secara maksimal. Dengan komunikasi yang efektif, hubungan konselor dan klien dapat tetap erat meskipun tidak bertatap muka secara langsung. Temuan ini relevan untuk pengembangan praktik konseling di era digital, sekaligus memberikan panduan bagi institusi pendidikan dan pelatihan konselor.

Abstract

Internet users are growing rapidly due to advances in information and communication technology Almost all people in the world use the internet in their daily lives. The increasing development of technology also influences the provision of guidance and counseling services, especially in schools. In this era of globalization, online counseling or cyber counseling services are really needed by counselorsor counseling guidance teachers because they can provide services without being limited by distance and time. This research aims to discuss the application of cyber counseling in schools. This research uses a literature review method or literature study in the form of journal articles. The research results show that cyber counseling services are considered effective because they can make it easy for counselors and students to carry out counseling that is not limited by distance and time. Several methods are used to carryout online counseling, including: via email, Facebook, asynchronous chat, Riliv application, video conference, cellphone and website. Counseling guidance teachers and counselors are expected to continue to improve their abilities in using information and communication technology.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of public service quality and institutional image on student satisfaction, as well as its impact on student word of mouth at UIN North Sumatra. We used probability sampling techniques with proportional stratified random sampling, with 80 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using path analysis. The research results show that service quality has a positive effect on student satisfaction. Likewise, a strong institutional image also increases student satisfaction. In addition, an indirect influence was found between service quality and institutional image on student satisfaction through institutional image and service quality respectively. There is also a simultaneous influence between service quality and institutional image on student satisfaction. The better the quality of service and image of the institution, the higher student satisfaction. Student satisfaction has a positive impact on word of mouth. The implications of this research suggest improvements in service quality and institutional image to increase student satisfaction. This is important to increase marketing through word of mouth as an effective communication and marketing medium in facing increasingly fierce higher education competition.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication strategies have an important role in building harmonious relationships between teachers and students in the educational environment. This research aims to analyze how interpersonal communication strategies are applied by teachers to create positive relationships, support the learning process, and increase student engagement. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through observation, interviews and literature study. The research results show that openness, empathy, supportive attitudes, respect, and positive attitudes are key elements in interpersonal communication between teachers and students. This strategy is able to build trust, increase learning motivation, and create a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi komunikasi interpersonal guru dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah library research dengan analisis terhadap berbagai literatur yang relevan. Penelitian ini dibagi ke dalam beberapa sub-bab pembahasan utama. Pertama, konsep dasar komunikasi interpersonal dibahas sebagai fondasi untuk memahami pentingnya interaksi yang efektif antara guru dan siswa. Kedua, strategi komunikasi interpersonal guru, seperti empati, kejelasan pesan, dan pendekatan personal, diidentifikasi sebagai upaya utama untuk menciptakan hubungan yang harmonis. Ketiga, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan komunikasi interpersonal guru, meliputi kompetensi komunikasi, karakteristik siswa, dan lingkungan belajar, dianalisis secara mendalam. Keempat, hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal guru dengan minat belajar siswa diuraikan, menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang positif dan efektif dapat memotivasi siswa untuk lebih terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran. Kelima, hambatan dalam komunikasi interpersonal guru, seperti perbedaan persepsi dan kurangnya keterampilan komunikasi, serta solusi untuk mengatasinya, seperti pelatihan guru dan penggunaan teknologi, juga disoroti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif merupakan kunci dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Guru perlu terus mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi mereka untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang kondusif.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the role of cyber counseling in improving guidance and counseling services, especially among adolescents, by utilizing advances in internet technology. Cyber ​​counseling (eCounseling) is a form of professional counseling service that is carried out through electronic media such as text messages, email, or video calls. Along with the development of technology, counseling services are no longer limited to face-to-face interactions, but can be done virtually, providing flexibility of time and place for clients and counselors. Physical distance is no longer an obstacle in the counseling process, making it more accessible, especially for individuals who cannot or do not want to meet counselors directly. This study examines various models of cyber counseling services, including website-based, email, and video conferencing, and their impact on increasing student self-disclosure. This study shows that cyber counseling can increase students' levels of self-disclosure by providing a safe and comfortable space to express problems without shame or anxiety. Therefore, cyber counseling services are very relevant for adolescents who need emotional support, especially in the context of psychological development that occurs during the transition to adulthood. Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of digital media in the development of cyber counseling services, especially through the use of WhatsApp video calls, in increasing student self-disclosure during group counseling. The method used is a literature study, which is a systematic process of collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing various written sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, and credible online publications. Through this approach, researchers build a strong theoretical foundation and understand the latest trends and findings related to the topic being studied. The results of the study show that digital media provides easy access, time flexibility, and allows the integration of advanced technology into counseling practices. However, challenges such as ethical issues, data security, and limitations of non-verbal interaction are still obstacles that need to be overcome. On the other hand, great opportunities are open through increasing digital literacy, innovation in therapy methods, and widespread mental health awareness campaigns. With the right approach, digital media-based cyber counseling services can be an effective and inclusive solution to meet the mental health needs of the community in the digital era.
