Abstract

Tourism has been a driving force of economic development and has become the leading economic sector in Bali Province. However, the economic impacts of tourism development have not been fully beneficial for the Balinese community. Tourists’ expenditure has not been totally remaining in Bali’s economy. Some of the expenditures by tourists leak out of the destination, called tourism leakage, in the form of payments for imported products and services, payment of wages for foreign employees, and profits transferred to foreign owners. So far, the amount of tourism leakage in Bali has not been calculated. Therefore, there is a need to ascertain the current amount of leakage in Bali tourism. This paper estimates the amount of tourism leakage from the accommodation sector in Bali through a micro analysis at the industrial level. There were 79 hotels selected as a sample based upon a purposive probability to size sampling method in four main tourist destinations in Bali, namely Kuta, Nusa Dua, Sanur and Ubud. Four types of accommodation were considered in estimating tourism leakage. The results showed that the highest percentage of leakage was in the 4 & 5 Star-rated chain hotels, i.e. 51.0 % of total revenue. It was followed by the 4 & 5 Star-rated non-chain hotels (22.7 %), and 1, 2 & 3 Star-rated hotels (12.0 %). Meanwhile, the lowest leakage was on the Non star-rated hotels (8.8 %). Overall, the average tourism leakage on accommodation sector in Bali was 18.8 %. These results indicate that (i) the higher the level of hotel classifications, the more leakage will be; and (ii) accommodation which was owned by a foreigner and/or managed by an international chain had more leakage than other types of accommodation. The more leakage, therefore the less revenue from tourism will be directly received by hotel and undirectly by the local community as tourism is the main source of economic development of Bali Province.

Abstract

UKM Sumber Rotan Tohiti merupakan salah satu UKM Meubel Rotan di Kota Palu yang masih tergolong dalam industri rumah tangga.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui berapa besar pendapatan yang diperoleh dan tingkat kelayakan usaha Kursi RotanPada UKM Meubel Sumber Rotan Tohiti di Kota Palu,.Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Kota PaluJln.Tanjung Manimbaya Pada UKM Meubel Sumber Rotan Tohiti, dari bulan Maret sampai April 2013.Penentuan responden menggunakan metode Purpossive.Data yang digunakan berupa data primer dan  datasekunder. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Analisis Pendapatan dan Analisis Kelayakan Usaha.Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan rata-rata yang diperoleh usaha Kursi RotanPada UKM Meubel Sumber Rotan Tohiti sebesar Rp. 13.727.096 perbulan.Hal ini berarti cukup baik untuk diusahakan, karena memberikan pendapatan yang cukup besar kepada UKM Meubel Sumber Rotan Tohiti.menunjukkan bahwaa> 1, maka UKM Meubel Sumber Rotan Tohiti diloksi penelitian layak di usahakan.  Artinya bahwa setiap Rp 1.000 biaya yang dikeluarkan oleh UKM Meubel Sumber Rotan Tohiti akan mendatangkan penerimaan sebesar Rp 1.580.

Abstract

Beef Abon is made from shredded beef mixed with spices and favorite to all ages,  this Abon is very familiar among Indonesian that bring apparently business opportunity to people. This study aimed to study the cost, the amount of production, selling prices and revenues received during this Abon business reached its break-even point. Results showed that  beef Abon products sell in a 500 g packaged reaches the break-even point at  33 packs, selling price shall be 137, 500 IDR per pack with revenue of  4,537, 500 IDR;  and a 400 g package reaches its break-even point at 30 packs, the selling price  is 110,000 IDR  with  revenue of  3,300,000 IDR, for a 250 g package the  break-even point reaches 32 packs, selling price is 68, 750 IDR per pack and revenue is  2,232,000 IDR, for a 200 g package the break-even point is 31 packs , the selling price will be  55,000 IDR  with revenue of  1,705,000 IDR, and a 100 g package  has  break-even point at 31 packs and selling price of  27,500 IDR per pack with revenues  of 852,500 IDR.

Abstract

Usaha Abon UKM Mutiara ?Hj. Mbok Sri? di Kota Palu merupakan salah satu industri rumah tangga.UKM ini merupakan salah satu industri yang memproduksi produk abon sapi di Kota Palu.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui strategi pengembangan usaha abon sapi pada UKM Mutiara ?Hj. Mbok Sri?, serta manfaat dari penelitian ini memberikan masukan bagi program usaha abon sapi pada  UKM Mutiara  ?Hj. Mbok Sri? dalam menentukan arah dan pedoman pengembangan usaha. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor-faktor perkembangan usaha abon sapi pada UKM Mutiara ?Hj. Mbok Sri? yaitu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal memiliki total nilai sebesar 3,4 dengan skor kekuatan 2,36 dan skor kelemahan 1,04. Hal ini menunjukkan faktor kekuatan yang dimiliki lebih besar dari faktor kelemahan, sedangkan untuk faktor eksternal memiliki total nilai sebesar 3,23 dengan skor peluang 2,21 dan skor ancaman 1,02. Hal ini menunjukkan faktor peluang yang dimiliki lebih besar dari faktor ancaman, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa alternatif strategi yang digunakan untuk pengembangan usaha abon sapi pada UKM Mutiara ?Hj. Mbok Sri? yaitu dengan menggunakan strategi SO dimana usaha abon sapi pada UKM Mutiara ?Hj. Mbok Sri? dapat menciptakan strategi yang menggunakan kekuatan untuk memanfaatkan peluang yang ada.

Abstract

Pembangunan pertanian pada dasarnya merupakan salah satu sistem pembangunan yang tidak kalah pentingnya dalam mendukung keberhasilan pembangunan nasional. Pembangunan sektor pertanian bertujuan untuk menumbuh kembangkan usaha pertanian di pedesaan yang akan memacu aktivitas ekonomi pedesaan, menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat menumbuhkan industri hulu, hilir dan penunjang dalam meningkatkan daya saing dan nilai tambah suatu produk pertanian.   Tujuan penelitian ini untuk : (i) mengetahui besar pendapatan usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi, (ii) mengetahui kelayakan usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi. Penentuan responden dilakukan dengan sengaja (purposive), Jumlah petani responden (sampel) yang diambil dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 petani padi sawah. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitiaan ini adalah analisis pendapatan dan analisisis kelayakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pendapatan usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi sebesar Rp 5.724.552/Ha. Usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi layak diusahakan dengan nilai R/C 2,63 yang artinya bahwa setiap pengeluaran sebesar Rp 1.000,- akan menghasilkan penerimaan sebesar Rp 2.630,-.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi dan pendapatan usahatani padi sawah dengan Pola Jajar Legowo di Desa Laantula Jaya, Kecamatan Witaponda, Kabupaten Morowali. Penentuan responden dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode acak sederhana (simple random sampling). Jumlah sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini yakni sebanyak 30 responden dari populasi yang berjumlah 87 KK yang menerapkan pola tanam jajar legowo. Hasil Analisis Fungsi Cobb-douglas menunjukan bahwa secara simultan (bersama-sama) faktor luas lahan, benih, pupuk, tenaga kerja, dan pengalaman usahatani.  Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menunjukkan Fhitung = 198,09 dengan nilai sig 0,000 < 0,005 (? = 5 %) menunjukkan menolak hipotesis nol, artinya variabel bebas luas lahan (X1), benih (X2), pupuk (X3), tenaga kerja (X4), dan pengalaman berusahatani (X5) secara simultan (bersama-sama) mempengaruhi produksi gabah kering panen di Desa Laantula Jaya Kecamatan Witaponda. Hasil analisis pendapatan menunjukan bahwa penerimaan yang diperoleh petani padi sawah di Desa Laantula Jaya adalah sebesar Rp. 17.706.084,68/ha, total biaya atau Rp. 8.939.083,95/ha sehingga diperoleh pendapatan petani responden sebesar  Rp. 8.767.000,73/ha dalam satu kali musim tanam.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level ofrice farming income and feasibility, and to know the development of Subak Baturiti in Balinggi Village, District of  Balinggi, Parigi Moutong Regency. Respondent sampling is conducted purpossively. The number of respondent farmers taken in this study is 40 of 66 farmers living in Subak Baturiti. The analyzes used in this study are income analysis, feasibility analysis, and descriptive analysis. Results of  those analyzes show the average rice production is 6.005,75 kg of harvested dried grains (HDG) and the average revenue received by the farmers is Rp 18.017.250,00 per farming unit (1,3 ha)/ growing season (GS) or Rp14.242.885,38/ha/GS, where as total costs spent by the respondent farmers are an average of  Rp 12.692.780,18 per farming unit (1,3 ha)/GS, or Rp 10.033.818,32/ha/GS and th rice farmin revenue is Rp 5.324.469,83 per farming unit (1,3 ha) or Rp 4.209.067,06/ha/GS with R/C value = 1,42, showing that R/C value is higher than 1 (R/C > 1). Therefore the farming is favorable (additional benefit or revenue is higher than additional cost). Subak Baturiti is an organization of water user farmers, and implements the Tri Hita Karana Concept that there are interrelationships between human beings and God, between human beings and environment, and between human beings and their others so as the farming activities will go well dan harmoniously.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aim was to identify the characteristics of cacao farmers and factors influencing cocoa production in Parigi Moutong Regency.The research location was determined based on a Purposive method. The method to select farmers as respondents was a Simple Random Sampling. The sample size for the research was 49 respondents of 493 cocoa farmer populations. Tool analysis used to investigate factors influencing cocoa production in the research was the Cobb-Douglas production function analysis. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that land area, use of side grafting seedlings, fertilization, sarungisasi technology, herbicide and the farmers’ experience significantly influenced the cocoa production, whereas extension intensity had no effect on the cacao production.

Abstract

This research work aimed at studying social economic factors influencing farmers go to the forest to gather cane. Doda village was chosen as sample village and sample in Doda village. 43 people was randomly sample to be interviewed. The data obtained showed that low income, big size of family, small size land owned, and having experience in gathering cane all were factors that urged farmers o gather cane. In contrast, formal education was found not to be associated with farmers gathering cane.Key words : Income, socio-economics, cane and multiple regression analysis

Abstract

The Balinese people tend to work on the cruise ship. In the last four years, the number of the Balinese women who work on the cruise ship has increased significantly, namely, by 33,84%. This present study is intended to analyze the socio-cultural implication of the Balinese women who work on the cruise ship as part of the tourism industry. Qualitative data are used in the present study. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The result of the study shows that the Balinese people were proud of being employed on the cruise ship as they had the opportunity to see the other countries which they had never dreamed of visiting. The socio-cultural life of the countries they had visited was unique and was completely different from the Balinese socio-cultural system. The socio-cultural life of the Balinese women who were employed on the cruise ship can be divided into; (a) the social implication; being employed on the cruise ship enabled them to improve the social status of themselves and their families, and (b) the cultural implication; being employed on the cruise ship enabled them to understand and conserve their culture. They acknowledged that their strong cultural tradition could impede them from being employed on the cruise ship. The paternal traditional life which is attached to the Balinese people and benefits the Balinese people sometimes cause the Balinese people to hesitate to be employed on the cruise ship.
