Abstract

The Karyotype Group Learning Tool is a learning tool in the form of a learning guidebook which includes lesson plans. Functions to help students in the learning process by implementing karyotype group type learning strategies. The aim of this research is to produce a valid learning tool for karyotype group types in class XII high school genetics material. This type of research is research and development which uses the ADDIE development model. The research was carried out in August 2023- February 2024 at MAN 2 Makassar City. The research subjects were 1 Class XII Biology teacher and 43 Class XII MIPA MAN 2 Makassar City students. The research instrument is an interview guide sheet and a questionnaire sheet consisting of a student needs analysis questionnaire and a validation questionnaire. The data analysis techniques in this research are qualitative and quantitative analysis. Product validity is assessed by a team of experts/validators. The assessment criteria used to determine the degree of validity of learning tools consist of 3 main aspects, namely: (1) the content appropriateness aspect, (2) the construction appropriateness aspect, and (3) the language appropriateness aspect. The results of the research show that the average assessment results from the two validators for the learning tools as a whole is 97.18% which is in the very valid category, so it can be concluded that the karyotype group type learning tool product in class XII high school genetic material is declared valid and suitable for use. in learning. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of mealworm frass and molasses on the proximate value ofwhite oyster mushrooms. This type of research was an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD)consisting of four treatments with three replications each. Test parameters include water content, ash content, crudeprotein, crude fat and crude fiber. Proximate data on water content, ash content, crude protein, crude fat and crudefiber were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's follow-up test with a 95% confidence level.The results showed that treatment with frass and frass molasses had an effect on water content, ash content, crudeprotein, crude fat, and a decrease in fiber content. Therefore, it can be concluded that the addition of mealwormfrass and molasses affects the proximate value of the resulting oyster mushrooms.

Abstract

Abstract. The research on the analysis of the implementation of biology practicums in high school in the independent curriculum at SMAN 9 Makassar aims to determine the implementation of biology practicums in high school in the independent curriculum in the odd semester at SMAN 9 Makassar. This study uses a descriptive approach with an exploratory research design. Data were collected by filling out checklists, interviews and documentation to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of practicums. The results of the study showed that the percentage of implementation of biology practicums in grade XI at SMAN 9 Makassar referring to Learning Outcomes (CP) in the independent curriculum was 57.1%, which was/is included in the fairly good category. Factors that caused the practicum not to be implemented were the availability of tools and difficulty in obtaining materials, implementation time, availability of space for practicums, the absence of assistants or laboratory assistants to help teachers guide practicums.Key words:  Learning Outcomes, Implementation, Independent Curriculum, Implementation Time

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to empower the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Sejahtera in Kabba Village, Minasate’ne Sub-district, Pangkep Regency, in utilizing herbal plants grown in their home yards as a means to strengthen family immunity. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage involved observation and interviews to identify suitable herbal plant potentials. The implementation stage included outreach, training, and demonstrations on cultivating and processing herbal plants into immunity-boosting remedies. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-training questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and awareness of the benefits of herbal plants, with 75% of KWT members starting to plant and use herbal plants independently. This activity successfully promoted a healthy lifestyle based on local resources and supported efforts to enhance family resilience in a sustainable manner. The program is expected to serve as an environmentally friendly community empowerment model that contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of health and well-being.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Biology learning in schools still faces various obstacles, such as low motivation and activeness of students and the use of media and learning models that are less interesting. In addition, the implementation of laboratory practicums is also less than optimal due to limited facilities, time, and supporting staff, which has an impact on the low active participation of students in the learning process. This study aims to determine and describe the implementation of biology practicum activities at SMA Negeri 1 Gowa. This type of research is descriptive research using quantitative and qualitative approaches (mix method). Data were collected through filling out checklists, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of biology practicums at SMA Negeri 1 Gowa referring to the Learning Outcomes (CP) of the Independent Curriculum reached 68% with a fairly good category in the laboratory. The practicums carried out in class XI included observations of diffusion, osmosis, mitosis and meiosis, human skeletal torso, blood type, blood pressure, pulse rate, and starch and glucose tests, while those that were not carried out were calorie calculations on the 4 healthy 5 perfect menu, vitamin tests, and fat tests. There were several obstacles in the implementation of biology practicums, including several microscopes in poor condition (blurry), practicums were carried out in class due to schedules that clashed with other subjects, students did not yet understand the basics of implementing practicums, limited time and water, practicums coincided with school events, and the unavailability of guides and Student Worksheets (LKPD) in several classes. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran biologi di sekolah masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti rendahnya motivasi dan keaktifan peserta didik serta penggunaan media dan model pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Selain itu, pelaksanaan praktikum di laboratorium juga kurang optimal akibat keterbatasan fasilitas, waktu, dan tenaga pendukung, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya partisipasi aktif peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan kegiatan praktikum biologi SMA Negeri 1 Gowa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif (mix method). Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian daftar periksa (check- list), wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan praktikum biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Gowa yang mengacu pada Capaian Pembelajaran (CP) Kurikulum Merdeka mencapai 68% dengan kategori cukup baik di laboratorium. Praktikum yang terlaksana di kelas XI meliputi pengamatan difusi, osmosis, mitosis dan meiosis, torso rangka manusia, golongan darah, tekanan darah, denyut nadi, serta uji amilum dan glukosa sedangkan yang tidak terlaksana adalah perhitungan kalori pada menu 4 sehat 5 sempurna, uji vitamin, dan uji lemak. Terdapat beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaan praktikum biologi, di antaranya beberapa mikroskop dalam kondisi kurang baik (buram), praktikum dilaksanakan di kelas akibat jadwal yang bertabrakan dengan mata pelajaran lain, peserta didik belum memahami dasar-dasar pelaksanaan praktikum, keterbatasan waktu dan air, praktikum bertepatan dengan acara sekolah, serta ketidaksediaan penuntun dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) di beberapa kelas.

Abstract

Student Worksheet (LKPD) Based on High order thinking skills (HOTS) with the aim of producing LKPD that is valid, practical and effective. This type of research is Research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which has five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. This student worksheet based on high-level thinking skills aims to foster the creative spirit of students and improve higher-order thinking skills in accordance with the competence of applying HOTS in learning activities. This study aims to determine the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed worksheets. The population of this study amounted to 22 students and 2 biology teachers as respondents. Data on validity and practicality were obtained using the questionnaire response method. The research data were analyzed using an assessment rubric. The results of the analysis of the validity and practicality of LKPD with a total average of 80% for the teacher's response is 92% and for the student response is 85.76%. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the development of LKPD is in the very practical category.

Abstract

Training on the use of soap leraks as a basic ingredient for gold jewelry washing soap aims to increase knowledge, popularize, and inspire people in Makassar City, especially women entrepreneurs, to reuse soap leraks as a natural soap ingredient. This training for the community is to increase knowledge and be able to reuse natural ingredients in their application in everyday life. The methods that have been carried out in this activity in stages include lectures for material presentation with an introduction to materials and how to manage them, demonstrations and direct practice, and discussions. The results of the training showed a positive response from the participants. The results of the activity showed that the community already knew about the use of soap leraks as a gold washing soap ingredient and its other benefits. In addition to the use of soap leraks as a soap ingredient, the community can independently use it according to their needs and applications. All participants have the skills and knowledge so that the opportunities for the use of soap leraks as a jewelry washing soap are increasingly wide open to the cultivation of soap leraks. During the activity, all participants showed very high enthusiasm for this training activity. Keywords: Lerak, Natural Ingredients, Soap   ABSTRAK Pelatihan pemanfaatan tumbuhan lerak sebagai bahan dasar sabun pencuci perhiasan emas bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, mempopulerkan, dan menggugah masyarakat di Kota Makassar khususnya pada pengusaha wanita dalam memanfaatkan kembali lerak sebagai bahan alami sabun. Pelatihan kepada masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan dapat memanfaatkan kembali bahan  alami dalam penerapannya di kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode yang telah dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini secara bertahap meliputi ceramah untuk pemaparan materi dengan pengenalan bahan-bahan dan cara kerja pengelolaan, demostrasi serta praktik langsung, dan diskusi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan respons positif dari peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat sudah mengetahui pemanfaatan lerak sebagai bahan sabun pencuci emas serta manfaat lainnya. Selain pemanfaatan lerak sebagai bahan sabun, secara mandiri masyarakat dapat memanfaatkannya sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan penerapannya. Seluruh peserta telah memiliki keterampilan dan pengetahuan sehingga peluang untuk pemanfaatan lerak sebagai sabun pencuci perhiasan semakin terbuka lebar hingga pada usaha budidaya tumbuhan lerak. Selama kegiatan berlangsung seluruh peserta menunjukkan antusiasme sangat tinggi terhadap kegiatan pelatihan ini.                                                                                                                                   Kata Kunci: Buah Lerak, Bahan Alami, Sabun

Abstract

This activity aims to improve book writing skills among teachers at SD and SMP Satap Conggoro, Gowa Regency. The ability to write books is an essential aspect of teacher professionalism, particularly in supporting the quality of education. Through this training, teachers are expected to overcome challenges in writing books and academic papers. The training methods include lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding of the importance of literacy in education, as well as book writing skills that can be applied to enhance teacher professionalism.

Abstract

The present research examines the ethical concerns of social media users in sharing information and digital interaction. Adopting a phenomenological approach, 20 students from two state universities in Makassar South Sulawesi were invited to an interview regarding the issues. The findings illustrate four important ethics concerning digital communication and sharing information on social media: first social media users should convey messages honestly; second, they must be responsible in their words and deeds; third, they have to be polite to others; fourth they have to be tolerant of differences. In addition, this study argues that social media content creators and users respect ethnic, religious, racial, and inter-group diversity in sharing information.

Abstract

Peningkatan kemampuan profesional harus didasarkan pada kebutuhan atau masalah nyata yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran baik di dalam kelas maupun di lingkungan sekitarnya. Forum pertemuan guru di kelompok musyawarah guru mata pelajaran (MGMP) adalah kelompok yang sangat strategis untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan kinerja guru terkait dengan peran mereka, yakni melalui pelatihan dalam pemanfaatan limbah di sekitarnya (rumah dan lingkungan sekolah) menjadi produk yang ramah lingkungan, yaitu pupuk organik. Permasalahan tugas yang harus diselesaikan oleh tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat dan kelompok MGMP Biologi adalah 1) bagaimana memanfaatkan limbah sekolah menjadi pupuk organik; 2) adanya keterampilan membuat pupuk organik yang dimiliki kelompok MGMP Biologi; 3) pengetahuan ini dapat dijadikan salah satu bahan pengajaran di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan berupa metode survey, ceramah, demonstrasi, unjuk kerja, dan diskusi. Hasil yang dicapai adalah: Pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik yang diberikan, dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, sehingga dapat diterapkan di keseharian baik di rumah ataupun di sekolah. Dari 20 jumlah peserta yang hadir, 90% lebih telah memiliki pemahaman, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan untuk mengubah sampah sekolah menjadi pupuk organik.
