The value of education is one of the most important issues in contemporary society and nation-building. We no longer underestimate the importance of education. Globalization and modernization have led to a decline in the value of education. We must take action to address educational values that are invisible to students. One of the actions involves studying references regarding educational values that align with the conditions and rules of Indonesian culture. Social education encompasses a variety of activities such as fostering social relationships, fostering harmonious relationships between students and educators, interacting with scholars, and communicating moral values. Among other things, moral education and the creation system ensure that the conversation is not interrupted. Cultural education encompasses a variety of activities such as delivering praise to students, extending greetings, and adhering to the lecture order. Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the implementation of inclusive education policies from early childhood education to higher education in Indonesia. Articles were selected through a screening process from 2015-2022. The review was conducted on an online database found on Google Scholar. There were 9 articles reviewed based on the inclusion criteria. Based on the results of the literature review,   it was found that inclusive education is an innovative and strategic educational approach to expand access to education for all children with special needs at all levels of education. The inclusive education model has been supported by stakeholders, but in practice there are still various barriers that come from teachers, schools, parents, special education experts and the government. However, the evaluation of inclusive education revealed positive impacts such as increased public awareness and understanding of inclusive education, government efforts to increase the number of educators and improve their quality, and improved accessibility of public facilities for people with disabilities. Recommendations are also provided, especially regarding regulations governing the improvement of educators' competencies, socialization for subject teachers, community support and arrangements for funding the implementation of inclusive education in Indonesia.

Abstract

In the current educational landscape, the development of critical thinking abilities is becoming increasingly important, especially considering the prevalence of hybrid learning methods. This investigation aimed to evaluate the proficiency of critical thinking skills in students who are immersed in hybrid learning. A descriptive quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing observation, documentation, and critical thinking assessments to collect data from a sample of 60 students from vocational high schools. The findings highlight two main results: firstly, the majority of students demonstrate a low level of critical thinking skills within the hybrid learning context, indicating the need for improvement; secondly, various factors that influence these skills were identified. These outcomes emphasize the challenges associated with acquiring 21st-century skills and emphasize the necessity for collaborative efforts. Both educators and students must enhance their commitment to effective learning preparation, with a particular emphasis on motivation to foster improved critical thinking abilities. This research provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers who are striving to enhance the hybrid learning environment in order to better cultivate critical thinking skills in students.

Design/methods/approach – This study uses research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) with three stages in it, namely the preliminary, development, and testing stages. To increase students' soft skills, an infographic-based Islamic Religious Education teaching material was designed in this study. Findings – According to preliminary research conducted at senior high schools in Surakarta with class XI subjects, Islamic learning does not provide opportunities for students to improve their soft skills. This is requiring the development of learning tools, one of which is infographic-based teaching materials, to assist in achieving the expected competencies. Research limitations – This study focuses on acquiring Islamic education in high school, with a focus on the limitations of development in teaching materials that affect students' ability to obtain competencies in the form of soft skills. Originality/value – A preliminary investigation into the development of teaching materials in Islamic education courses, namely for senior secondary school, was studied further in this study. The development of soft skills is one of the things that is actively supported in the development of character education in Indonesian schools.

Abstract

The problem-based learning model remains an innovative model that is often implemented for learning in the 21st century, as an effort to achieve students' soft skill competencies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the necessary learning model in Mathematics at Girimarto District Elementary Schools and to analyze the application of the problem-based learning model at these schools. This research is classified as descriptive quantitative research, and it involves a random sample of 106 students and 10 elementary school teachers in the Girimarto area. The data collection technique used is non-test, specifically through the use of questionnaires. The data obtained from the questionnaires are analyzed descriptively using percentages to depict the research findings. The study highlighted a suboptimal implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Girimarto District, with only 44.94% of the sample demonstrating mastery of critical thinking, 35.67% exhibiting creative reasoning, and 25.09% performing analytical thinking. This indicates a lack of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based learning among teachers. Various obstacles were identified, including student passivity, fear, and unfamiliarity with the PBL model. Interviews and observations further revealed that many teachers had not fully grasped the concept of PBL. The study emphasizes the need to address these obstacles to enhance PBL implementation and improve Mathematics learning outcomes in Girimarto District Elementary Schools. The implications of these findings underscore the necessity of addressing these barriers to enhance the implementation of PBL and improve Mathematics learning outcomes in Girimarto Elementary School.
