Abstract

Abstract

In the dynamics of Islamic education institutions, there must be turmoil or conflict, both individual conflicts and group conflicts. Admittedly or not, Islamic education institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools and madrasah, have a high probability of conflict compared to other educational institutions. From this assumption, this paper aims to analyze the role of conflict management in resolving conflicts that occur within the scope of Islamic education institutions. Based on the study of theory, it can be concluded that conflict management is very central in developing conflicts in Islamic boarding schools and madrasah educational institutions as a way to develop Islamic education institutions for the better. Based on that statement, the main concern in reaching conflict is that conflict cannot be avoided. Therefore, controlling conflict becomes a necessity in order to achieve goals in Islamic education institutions.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: Persons with disabilities often encounter significant barriers in accessing educational services that are not yet inclusive or disability-friendly. These limitations contribute to systemic discrimination and result in the delivery of inadequate public services. Research Methods: This study adopts a descriptive qualitative case study approach aimed at identifying both physical and non-physical accessibility services, as well as the key factors influencing their availability at a state Islamic university in West Sumatera, Indonesia. Finding/Results:  The findings indicate that: (1) non-physical accessibility services—particularly in the areas of information access, policy and specialized support—are still underdeveloped; (2) physical accessibility features, such as disability-friendly toilets and ramps, are available but remain very limited; and (3) the availability of such services is shaped by several crucial factors, including institutional commitment and awareness, the presence of disability-related data, institutional policies and needs, and the influence of international accreditation standards. These factors collectively serve as the primary drivers in the realization of an inclusive and equitable university environment. Conclusion: The study concludes that accessibility services at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang remain insufficient and recommends enhanced institutional focus on inclusive infrastructure, policy reform, and data management to support students with disabilities effectively.

Abstract

The phenomenon of panic attacks has become a significant mental health issue in contemporary society, especially among university students, and requires an integrated holistic response. This study aims to identify, analyze, and comprehensively synthesize the role, intervention models, and the relevance of contemporary PAI in responding to and preventing panic attacks and anxiety disorders. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a qualitative narrative synthesis approach, collecting and analyzing relevant scientific literature sources such as journal articles and books, thus providing a comprehensive overview. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) not only serves as general spiritual support but also provides a specific and effective spiritual cognitive framework. Key findings emphasize the importance of internalizing the values of Tawakkal, implementing Dhikr and prayer practices as Islamic mindfulness mechanisms, and the role of PAI teachers as cognitive spiritual counselors. The research findings also formulate a Contemporary PAI Response Model that can be integrated into the PAI curriculum to reduce physiological and cognitive catastrophic symptoms of panic attacks.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of AI technology offers opportunities to improve learning effectiveness but also poses challenges in preserving the moral and spiritual values that underpin Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a companion to Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers through the perspectives of tarbiyah, ta’lim, and ta’dib. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, drawing on national and international journal articles, books, policy reports, and classical Islamic educational references. Source selection was based on relevance and a publication range from the last ten years (2015–2025). Data were collected through documentation techniques by accessing academic databases and scientific portals. The data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis through stages of data reduction, issue categorization, synthesis of findings, and conceptual interpretation. The results show that AI can support ta’lim by providing adaptive learning, digital tutoring, and automated assessment, yet it cannot fulfill the functions of tarbiyah and ta’dib due to its lack of emotional sensitivity, ethical awareness, and spiritual depth. Therefore, the role of teachers as murabbi remains essential. The study concludes that AI serves as a pedagogical partner that strengthens learning and must be integrated in alignment with Islamic values

Abstract

The jihād as a war against non-muslim communities constitutes a global phenomenon. The people of radical thought have used various means to promote their ideas, including the Internet. This article aims to analyze the responses of Gen Z as university students toward interpreting some Qur’anic verses and using images to support the arguments for the necessity of jihād. Employing Wolfgang Iser’s theory of reception and Norman Holland’s theory of psychological reader-response, it concludes first, that although educated in the Quranic interpretation principles, the vast majority of them have accepted those radical interpretations of jihād-verses and have affirmed that war, based on perceived ideological interpretations, is a permanent duty upon Muslim communities; second, that their psychological expression, either happiness, sadness, being shocked, or angry, in various ways of expressed reasons, represent a single goal, e.g., the willingness of performing jihād; third, viewed from their theological motives, that the different faith, in their minds, could be regarded the sufficient reason for war; fourth, that, due to belonging to poor farmer families, one of the possible factors, among others, behind their minds of others as such is an economic factor because it contributes to inadequate education.

Abstract

Social media plays a crucial role in shaping the religious identity of young people and fostering the emergence of the hijrah trend as a socio-religious phenomenon in the digital era. Although numerous studies have explored the role of preachers and online da’wah content, there remains a gap in research on the comparative impact across platforms and how educational background influences students’ understanding of hijrah. This study uses an exploratory, descriptive qualitative approach, collecting primary data through observation and user interactions on social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. The results show that UIN students tend to interpret hijrah as an intellectual process closely related to the curriculum and religious-based academic activities, while private university students are more influenced by the hijrah community and emotional and social visual da’wah content. The uniqueness of this study lies in the comparative mapping of two different educational contexts and the analysis of the cross-platform impact of social media on shaping hijrah awareness. These findings confirm that the hijrah trend is not uniform, but rather shaped through the dynamic interaction of academic, social, and religious formation in the digital world.

Abstract

This study examines research trends on religious moderation in Islamic education in relation to metaverse technology during the period 2020–2025, responding to the growing urgency of integrating wasathiyah values with emerging immersive digital environments. The primary objective is to map the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and research gaps at the intersection of religious moderation, Islamic education, and metaverse-related technologies. Using a bibliometric approach, the study analyzed publications indexed in the Scopus database through keyword-based searches and processed the data with VOSviewer to generate co-authorship, co-citation, and keyword co-occurrence networks. The results reveal a steady increase in publications addressing religious moderation and Islamic education, while direct integration with metaverse concepts remains limited. Network and cluster analyses identify five major thematic clusters, including immersive learning technologies, religious moderation and tolerance, educational and socio-cultural contexts, supporting digital technologies and ethical challenges, and innovation and religious harmony. The findings indicate that although metaverse-related technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality are increasingly discussed in educational research, their application to fostering religious moderation in Islamic education is still fragmented and underexplored. This gap highlights weak interdisciplinary collaboration between education scholars and technology researchers. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that religious moderation in Islamic education is an expanding field with significant potential for integration with metaverse-based learning environments. The findings provide a comprehensive knowledge map and offer strategic insights for future research, policy development, and pedagogical innovation aimed at promoting tolerant, inclusive, and human-centered Islamic education in digital and immersive contexts.
