Abstract

This article discusses the effect of variations in the concentration of mannitol-sucrose as a filler in the formulation of antioxidant lozenges from various plant extracts on the physical properties of the preparation. Lozenges are preparations that can contain active substances with additional ingredients and sweeteners that dissolve in the mouth. The use of mannitol and sucrose as additional ingredients in lozenges provides advantages such as sweet taste and ease of use. The aim of this study is to find the optimal ratio between mannitol and sucrose to obtain good physical properties of lozenges. The research method used is a literature review article (LRA) by accessing information sources from databases such as Google Scholar and PubMed. The results showed that variations in mannitol-sucrose concentration affected the physical properties of lozenges, such as weight uniformity, hardness, friability, and tablet disintegration time. Thus, choosing the right ratio between mannitol and sucrose is important to produce quality lozenges.

Abstract

Tablets are one of the most commonly used solid dosage forms of medicine in the pharmaceutical industry. The granulation process commonly used in making tablets is the wet granulation process. The operation method includes mixing the active ingredients and excipients, adding a binder liquid, forming granules, drying and sieving. The methods used in this research are literature research, journal reviews, and analysis of relevant papers carried out during the 2015-2023 period. The aim of this literature study is to determine the process, advantages, limitations and application of wet granulation in the pharmaceutical industry. Based on the results of a literature study, tablet production using the wet granulation method was proven to be an effective technique and is widely used for the production of tablet formulations.

Abstract

Coated tablets are compressed tablets that are coated with a mixture of various substances such as: resin, gum, fillers, sugar, plasticizers, polyols, coloring agents, and flavor enhancers in the active substance. The types of coated tablets that are developing are sugar-coated, thin-coated and enteric-coated tablets. One of the additional materials that plays an important role in making coated tablets is a binder. This review article aims to obtain information and examine what is a good concentration of binder to use in coated tablet formulations. Based on a literature study from several articles collected, it can be concluded that the lactose binder, porang tuber starch, and PVP in several coated tablet dosage formulations, these binders have no effect on the physical properties of the dosage form.

Abstract

Sterilization is a process that aims to remove all forms of microbial life, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores, from an object or surface. This process is very important in various fields, such as medicine, laboratories, food industry, and pharmaceuticals, to prevent infection and contamination. This article was written through a literature review of articles originating from international and national journals. Data searches were carried out through scientific-based websites and databases, namely Google Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed. The results show that of various sterilization methods such as autoclave, oven, ozone, filtration, steam, 70% alcohol, UV radiation and gamma rays, each has different effectiveness in killing microorganisms, and each method has advantages and disadvantages. . The conclusion of this article provides a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of various sterilization methods used in laboratory and industrial contexts. Various techniques, such as autoclave, oven, ozone, filtration, steam, 70% alcohol, UV radiation and gamma rays.

Abstract

Eye drops are used for dry eyes, red eyes, allergies, infections, and glaucoma. Evaluation of eye drops includes pH, osmolality, and viscosity, which must be adjusted so that the preparation is comfortable for the eyes and does not cause irritation. This review aims to determine the active ingredients that are suitable for use and the efficacy of these active ingredients in eye drops that are made. Literature searches were conducted using online-based literature search instruments, such as Google Scholar. The results and discussions include several physical and chemical evaluations from several journals. Based on the literature study conducted, it can be concluded that various formulation innovations for the treatment of dry eyes, including lipid-based liposomes, omega-3 fatty acids, and natural ingredients such as castor oil, show great potential in mimicking the function of the natural tear film, reducing fluid evaporation, and supporting regeneration and stability of corneal epithelial cells.

Abstract

Sterilization is the liberation of materials or tools from various living microorganisms or their resting stages. Sterilization methods can be divided into two general groups, namely physical and chemical. Although sterilization can be achieved with certain chemicals, generally physical methods are more reliable. One of the most effective methods for killing microorganisms is using high temperatures. One of the sterilizers that uses the pressurized steam heat method is the autoclave. This review article was carried out with the aim of discussing and providing information to readers regarding the sterilization of tools and materials that will be used in medical and non-medical settings, which is very important in every manufacturing process. Apart from that, we also know the benefits and processes of sterilization that are commonly used, namely steam sterilization.

Abstract

SMA Sultan Agung 3 Semarang memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi contoh dalam pelaksanaan program kesehatan sekolah yang efektif. Untuk meningkatkan kapabilitas kader kesehatan UKS, perlu dilakukan program Pelatihan Pelatih (Training of Trainers/TOT) yang komprehensif. TOT bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada kader kesehatan agar memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan memadai dalam melaksanakan program UKS, khususnya dalam pencegahan stunting melalui perbaikan gizi remaja putri. Program TOT ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan kader kesehatan yang kompeten dan mampu menjadi agen perubahan dalam upaya meningkatkan kesehatan dan gizi remaja putri, yang pada akhirnya akan berkontribusi pada penurunan angka stunting di Indonesia.Pelaksanaan pelatihan TOT di SMA Sultan Agung 3 Semarang dilakukan selama tiga hari, mulai 8-10 Juni 2024, melibatkan serangkaian langkah yang terstruktur. Langkah-langkah ini mencakup perencanaan program, identifikasi kebutuhan siswa melalui FGD, penyusunan media pembelajaran, pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan, evaluasi pelatihan, dan tindak lanjut. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta, yang terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapabilitas kader kesehatan UKS. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan derajat kesehatan siswa di SMA Sultan Agung 3 Semarang dan menjadi model bagi sekolah-sekolah lain dalam upaya cegah stunting.

Abstract

Samarang is one of the subdistricts in the Garut Regency with the most tourism potential. According to 2021 data from Garut Statistics Indonesia, the tourism potential in the Samarang included nature tourism, cultural tourism, special interest tourism, and artificial tourism. Nature tourism had the highest proportion of approximately 49.15% compared to other tourism. Still, there is limited access to these tourist sites due to considerable distance, damaged road conditions, and remoteness from settlements. This research aims to determine the optimal route, cost, and travel time to access the tourist location. Based on this, the methods used were graph theory and network analysis methods. The distance determination was done using Google Maps and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the shortest distance to access tourist sites in the Samarang from the center of Garut city was about 15.55 km, required the cost of IDR132,000, and travel duration of 52 minutes. At the same time, the results of the network analysis method revealed that the normal route was around 21.35 km, which cost IDR158,000 and required a travel time of 66 minutes.

Abstract

Abstrak Pembelajaran Matematika adalah ilmu yang mempelajari tentang besaran, struktur, bangun ruang, dan perubahan-perubahan yang ada pada suatu bilangan. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk memaksimalkan prestasi belajar matematika pada materi pecahan senilai. Jenis penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian tersebut akan terlihat pada tindakan yang diambil guru untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang terjadi di kelas dalam proses belajar mengajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan prestasi belajar matematika di setiap siklus-nya. Kata Kunci: Explicit Instruction, Prestasi Belajar, Matematika Abstract Mathematics learning is a science that studies the magnitude, structure, building space, and changes that exist in a number. The purpose of this study is to maximize the achievement of learning mathematics on fractional material worth. The type of research to be used is classroom action research (PTK). The research will be seen in the actions taken by teachers to overcome problems that occur in the classroom in the teaching and learning process. Abstract

Learning Midwifery practice learning requires media that closely resemble real conditions so that students can optimally develop their clinical skills. The innovation of the SMARTHOM (Smart Phantom) device was developed as a labor delivery simulator based on electromechanical systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), designed to enhance the learning experience in the laboratory. The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility level of the SMARTHOM device as a learning medium for childbirth simulation among midwifery students. This research employed a descriptive approach with a trial method involving 15 midwifery students from Faletehan University. The instrument used was the System Usability Scale (SUS) to assess user satisfaction and ease of use of both the application and the simulator device. The results showed an average score of 84.3, which falls under the “highly feasible” category. The highest-rated aspects included ease of use and the functional suitability of the device with the stages of the childbirth process. Overall, the findings indicate that SMARTHOM is effective as a midwifery laboratory learning medium and has great potential for further development into interactive digital learning.
