Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a 3D animation movie and find out its feasibility and effectiveness in teaching literature in junior high schools. This research is a development-research. The development model adapts Borg and Gall's research and development procedures to the stages of (1) potential and problems; (2) collection of data needs; (3) development through product design and developing initial product forms; (4) product evaluation through validation by relevant experts/experts; (5) revision of the validation product design; (6) peer-to-peer product trials and limited-scale class trials and revisions to the trial results followed by large-scale class trials. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and questionnaires at Xaverius Way Halim Middle School Bandar Lampung. The results of the material expert test for the animated movie "Bunga Tidur" obtained a percentage of 96.1% in the very feasible category, media experts obtained a percentage of 97.0% in the very feasible category, and practitioners obtained a percentage of 95.0% in the very feasible category. The effectiveness of the animated movie Bunga Tidur was also tested and showed an average N-gain class VII-C of 0.68 including the medium category, an average N-gain class VII-D of 0.60 including the medium category, so this product was declared effectively used in learning.

Abstract

As a cultural product, literary works are related to the environment in which they are born. One of the things meant is related to ecological issues. Poetry as part of literary works can reflect ecological problems. This study aims to explore ecological elements in the poetry collection Dongeng Pohon Pisang by Achmad Sultoni. The form of this research is qualitative descriptive with a literary ecology approach. The poetry collection Dongeng Pohon Pisang by Achmad Sultoni is the source of data in this study. Words, sentences, and phrases in the poetry collection Dongeng Pohon Pisang by Achmad Sultoni that contain ecological elements are the data in this study. To obtain data, this study uses data collection techniques in the form of document or library studies. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed using an interactive analysis model. The results of this study indicate that the poetry collection Dongeng Pohon Pisang by Achmad Sultoni is very thick with ecological nuances and themes. The ecological nuance is reinforced by the ecocentrism attitude presented by the author.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to seek information about the factors causing code switching and code mixing in the post-pandemic learning process of the Indonesian language in class XII Social Sciences at SMA YP Unila. This study uses a descriptive approach. The data collected are in the form of words, pictures, and not numbers. This research leads to an in-depth description of the meaning, clarification, and placement of data in their respective contexts and describes them in the form of words from numbers. The total code-switching in learning interactions is one-word data, two phrases, and five sentences; this shows that students' and teachers' interest in code-switching in both classes is shallow. As in code-switching, the form of code mixing in its interaction is divided into internal code-mixing and external code-mixing. In internal code-mixing, the language used is the insertion of Javanese in Indonesian sentences. Meanwhile, in external code-mixing, the language used is the insertion of English and Arabic in the interaction of Indonesian language learning. The implication aims to make it easier for teachers and students to understand word insertion during learning interactions and quickly understand what other people say when communicating. Keywords: Code-Switching, Code-Mixing, Indonesian Learning

Abstract

The low reading ability is one of the causes of reading strategies that are less acceptable. The impact of the lack of acceptance of the strategy used will have a negative impact on students' comprehension of reading content. Therefore, this study aims to describe the achievement of text-based reading learning, which focuses on the aspects of building text, modeling, writing texts together, and writing texts independently by Class VIII Students of SMP Global Surya, Bandar Lampung, Academic Year 2022/2023. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, in the form of a case study. The data source is in the form of text-based reading learning between teachers and students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and interviews. The data analysis technique used is the interactive model of analysis developed by Miles and Huberman. The sample in this study was 32 people, who were determined purposively, especially students who had the ability to read and write in the category of having achieved a score above the KKM (minimum completeness criteria). Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the implementation of text-based reading learning can be carried out proportionally. This is indicated by the average achievement of students' reading results in the very good category. Of the 32 students who were used as research subjects, data obtained (1) built contexts of 26 people in the very good category with details, components of "social context" (80.75%), exploration of text characteristics (81.75%), and objectives and text content (81.25%)”; (2) modeling of 26 people (81.25%) with very good category with details, components of "social context" (80.75%), exploration of text features (81.75%), and purpose and content of the text (81 .25%)”; (3) 19 people (59.38%) composed the text together in a sufficient category with details, components "systematics (60.25%), language (59.65%), and content (58.25%)"; and (4) 28 people (87.50%) composed the text independently in a very good category with details, "systematics" components (88.00%), language (86.25%), and content (88.25%)”. Keywords: Learning achievement, text-based reading, and junior high school students

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the social interaction of the figures in Kompas Choice Short Story 2021 and to find out the implications of the research on the learning of Bahasa Indonesia in high school. The research design used is qualitatively descriptive. The data of this study are words, sentences, quotations or dialogue fragments that build short stories and social interactions in the form of associative and dissociative social processes described by the figures in Kompas Choice Short Story 2021. The data sources in this study consisted of five Kompas Choice Shortcuts 2021, namely short stories titled Aku Ngenteni Tekamu by Martin Aleida, Finally We All Become Maling by Zaidinoor, Cakar Dubuk Tutul by Naning Scheid, Keluarga Kudus by Sunlie Thomas Alexander, and Mother's Cuisine and Seasonings in the Home Page by Rizqi Turama. The study used data collection techniques in the form of reading techniques, librarianship research techniques, and record-keeping techniques. The results of this study showed that 50 social interaction data were found that were dominated by forms of interaction, namely cooperation and the implications of the results of this study took the form of the preparation of the Learning Module.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan interaksi sosial tokoh dalam Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2021 dan untuk mengetahui implikasi penelitian terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah kata-kata, kalimat, kitipan-kutipan atau penggalan dialog yang membangun cerpen dan interaksi sosial berupa proses sosial asosiatif dan disosiatif yang digambarkan oleh tokoh-tokoh dalam Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2021. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas lima Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2021, yakni cerpen berjudul Aku Ngenteni Tekamu karya Martin Aleida, Akhirnya Kita Semua Menjadi Maling karya Zaidinoor, Cakar Dubuk Tutul karya Naning Scheid, Keluarga Kudus karya Sunlie Thomas Alexander, dan Masakan Ibu dan Bumbu-bumbu di Halaman Rumah karya Rizqi Turama. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa teknik baca, teknik riset kepustakaan, dan teknik pencatatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 50 data interaksi sosial yang didominasi oleh bentuk interaksi yakni kerja sama dan implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini berbentuk penyusunan Modul Ajar. Keywords: Associative, Dissociative, Social Interaction, Short Stories.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini memaparkan mengenai masalah keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang dialami oleh peserta didik pada materi teks anekdot di SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan, mengembangkan produk media pembelajaran berupa media mobile learning dalam pembelajaran teks anekdot di SMA kelas X yang dapat diunduh di google playstore, serta mendeskripsikan kelayakan produk media pembelajaran tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang disadur dari teori Sugiyono. Prosedur penelitian Sugiyono yang terdiri atas sepuluh Langkah diringkas menjadi enam langkah sesuai kebutuhan peneliti serta standar penelitian dan pengembangan tingkat sarjana, yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data informasi, desain produk, validasi produk, uji coba produk dan revisi produk. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAN 1 Bandarlampung terhadap pendidik Bahasa Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi wawancara dan survei menggunakan kuesioner. Wawancara dilaksanakan untuk menemukan masalah yang ada sedangkan survei menggunakan kuesioner dilaksanakan untuk validasi kelayakan produk.This developmental research addresses the limitations in learning media experienced by students regarding the anecdote text material in high school. The aim is to produce and develop a learning media product in the form of mobile learning for teaching anecdote texts in 10th-grade high school, available for download on Google Play Store, and to describe the feasibility of this learning media product. The method employed in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from Sugiyono's theory. Sugiyono's ten-step research procedure is condensed into six steps based on the researchers' needs and the standards of undergraduate research and development: identifying potential and problems, collecting data and information, product design, product validation, product testing, and product revision. The study took place at MAN 1 Bandarlampung with Indonesian Language educators. Data collection techniques involved interviews to identify existing issues and surveys using questionnaires for product validity validation.Keywords: Anecdote, Cross Platform, Mobile Learning.

Abstract

Excessive release of interleukin-6 (IL-6) during the progression of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) induces cytokine storms, resulting in multi-organ damages including liver injury, similar in nature with mechanism of viral hepatitis. Systemic IL-6 has been associated with the incidence of liver injury among COVID-19 patients; however, studies on IL-6 expression in the liver tissue are completely lacking. The aim of this study was to measure the IL-6 expression in the liver tissues and to determine its correlation with the degree of liver injury in fatal COVID-19 patients. Through this first cross-sectional study, IL-6 expression was measured through immunohistochemical staining and the degree of liver injury was identified based on level of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT). The Spearman correlation test was used to identify the correlation between IL-6 expression and the degree of liver injury. A total of 47 deceased COVID-19 patients were included and IL-6 expression was observed in all post-mortem liver specimens, ranging from mild to strong expression. Liver injury at various degrees (mild to severe) was found in more than half (59.5%) of the cases. The Spearman correlation analysis suggested a statistically insignificant correlation between liver IL-6 expression and the degree of liver injury (r=0.152; p=0.309). In conclusion, even IL-6 expression was observed in all post-mortem liver specimens, there was an insignificant correlation between IL-6 expression in the liver tissue with the degree of liver injury among fatal COVID-19 patients, suggesting that IL-6 was not the only main factor contributing to liver damage in COVID-19 patients.

Abstract

We know how Malay Arabic writing or also known as Jawi letters in the people of Sumatra and Java, and Pegon letters in the people of East Java and Central Java, however very few people know the history of the origins of Arabic Malay writing in the archipelago (Indonesia). There are also several cases of wrong thinking in society which assumes that Malay Arabic writing and Arabic are the same, both in terms of writing and meaning. Even though the two are different, it is true that both have a connection through history and some similarities in writing, but there are still differences and each has its own characteristics. Therefore, this research aims to find out the history of Malay Arabic writing in the archipelago, which has been compiled briefly through its development, in order to increase the knowledge and love of the people, especially the Malay tribe, and then find out the relationship between Malay Arabic and Arabic from a historical perspective. This research uses a library research method which uses reading references from both libraries and online media to obtain the required information. The results of this research include the differences between Malay Arabic and Arabic from several perspectives. Kita mengenali bagaimana tulisan Arab Melayu atau juga dikenal dengan huruf Jawi pada masyarakat Sumatera dan Jawa, dan huruf Pegon pada masyarakat Jawa Timur dan Jawa Tengah, akan tetapi sedikit sekali yang mengetahui sejarah asal usulnya penulisan Arab Melayu di Nusantara (Indonesia) ini. Ada pula beberapa kasus pola pikir keliru di masyarakat yang menganggap bahwa tulisan Arab Melayu dan bahasa Arab itu sama, baik dari segi tulisan dan maknanya. Padahal keduanya berbeda, memang benar bahwa keduanya memiliki hubungan lewat sejarah maupun sedikit kesamaan penulisannya, akan tetapi tetap saja ada perbedaan dan masing-masing memiliki ciri khasnya tersendiri. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah penulisan Arab Melayu di Nusantara yang telah disusun secara singkat lewat perkembangannya, agar menambah pengetahuan serta kecintaan masyarakat khususnya suku Melayu, kemudian mengetahui hubungan Arab Melayu dengan bahasa Arab dari sudut sejarahnya. Penelitian ini  menggunakan metode kepustakaan atau library research yang menggunakan cara menelaah referensi bacaan baik dari perpustakaan maupun media online untuk mendapatkan informasi yang dibutuhkan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini meliputi perbedaan Arab Melayu dan bahasa Arab dari beberapa perspektif.

Abstract

This study seeks to identify and describe the character education contained in the story of Origins of Lampung. By utilizing the Lampung Origin Story as a source of research data, a qualitative descriptive methodology was used. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques. Based on the analysis of the Lampung Origin story, six values of character education have been identified. Tolerance, independence, curiosity, friendly or communicative, social care, and responsibility are the values of character education. These values are the basis for the idea that folklore is not only used to introduce stories that were believed by the ancestors, but also can be used as a means of character education.

Abstract

The publication trend related to reading comprehension studies in the last decade has sharply grown. Nevertheless, studies offering comprehensive bibliometric and bibliographic reviews related to reading comprehension studies have not been conducted nor also found in the journal or conference proceeding. The purpose of this study is to present a bibliographic and bibliometric review of the numerous documents studying reading comprehension skills. A bibliometric analysis was performed to carry out this study whereby 1,681 eligible documents from the Scopus database published from 2013 to 2022 were used as research materials. Results showed that in 2013-2022, the publication trend of reading comprehension studies slightly increased while the citation trend on the documents regarding reading comprehension skills tended to fall sharply. Additionally, at least there were several major emerging themes of reading comprehension studies such as methodology, language, educational level, reading disability, reading intervention, reading comprehension predictor, and moderating factor of reading comprehension. This study implies that researchers in the field of Indonesian language education can focus on the utilization of Indonesian textbooks in investigating learners’ reading comprehension skills, develop innovative and effective reading interventions to enhance learners’ reading comprehension skills, and explore some other moderating factors of reading comprehension skills such as ethnicity, culture, geographical location, and textbook topic.
