Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyse the effect of Work Discipline, Work Life Balance, and Punishment on Employee Performance at the Culture and Tourism Office of South Sumatra Province. This research uses quantitative methodology with descriptive techniques. A sample of 95 respondents was obtained by applying simple random sampling technique. The research findings indicate that Work Discipline has no significant effect on Employee Performance, Work Life Balance has a positive and significant impact, while Punishment has a negative and significant impact on Employee Performance. The three variables collectively have a significant influence on Employee Performance, as evidenced by the coefficient of determination (R²) reaching 41%. This indicates that work discipline, work-life balance, and Punishment can explain 41% of the variance in employee performance, while the rest is caused by other factors. Abstract

Abstract

This study addresses the challenges of text classification in domain-specific Natural Language Processing (NLP) within the medical field, which differs significantly from general NLP due to the presence of complex medical jargon and informal language in clinical documents. The primary objective of this research is to develop and evaluate a cancer-related text classification model by integrating the Naïve Bayes algorithm with Laplacian smoothing and optimizing its alpha parameter using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). Specifically, the study aims to determine whether ACO can effectively identify the optimal alpha value that enhances the classification performance of the Naïve Bayes model. Experimental results demonstrate that with an alpha value of 0.27, the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 81.05%. This indicates that the combination of ACO and Naïve Bayes significantly improves classification efficiency and accuracy. The findings contribute to more accurate interpretation of clinical cancer-related texts, supporting better-informed decision-making in medical contexts

Abstract

In increasingly tight economic conditions, various business ventures are trying to continue to develop and become the best. One of the supporters of achieving company goals is through labor or employees. Employees who master their work will bring employee job satisfaction and provide optimal performance for the company. To encourage employees to work well, one way is through providing compensation both financially and non-financially. This research aims to determine the effect of non-financial compensation on employee job satisfaction at PT. PLN (Persero) WS2JB Palembang Area, with 67 employees used as respondents and the analysis technique used was multiple linear regression. The research results explain that non-financial compensation variables have a significant influence on job satisfaction of 42.9% due to the high level of significance. The research results also support the hypothesis which shows that the author's initial assumption that providing non-financial compensation has an effect on increasing job satisfaction is proven to be correct
