Abstract

Quantitative research using verification methods with a national scope during the 2011-2022 period. Analyzing economic variables, namely assets, debt and their relationship to economic growth. Based on secondary data from BPS, the relationship model between variables is expressed in the equation GDP = 9036156+ 0.000141AS, meaning that every increase in assets has an impact on increasing economic growth. Likewise, the relationship between GDP and debt, with the GDP regression model = 8213950 + 0.452594 Hu. The contribution of the Asset aspect to GDP is 19.62%, while the contribution of the Debt variable to GDP is 92.30%. In descriptive statistics, it is explained that the median value of GDP over Assets and GDP over Debts is 578,555,199 and 7,507,359 respectively.

Abstract

Abstract

When learning English as a foreign language, students sometimes need help, such as a lack of competence and practice; they know the language but must learn how to use it correctly. For those reasons, students need a communication strategy to solve their problems. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze the communication strategies used by job seekers and employee students in an English Course Semarang during their conversation class. Employing a qualitative research method, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and transcription of audio recordings conducted over two weeks in February 2024. The study applied Tarone and Casper's theoretical framework to classify communication strategies. The findings reveal that topic avoidance and language switching were the most frequently used strategies (each 25.38%), followed by code-switching (20.78%), appeal to authority (19.24%), and message abandonment (9.23%). These findings underscore the importance of fostering an engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages learners to communicate actively and confidently in English. The practical implications of this research enable teachers to enhance speaking activities with guided reflection, allowing students to analyze and refine their strategies in real time.

Abstract

Waste management has become a critical challenge in efforts to maintain environmental sustainability and public health. Poorly managed waste can cause environmental pollution, reduce quality of life, and complicate recycling processes. To address this issue, this study aims to classify waste based on images while optimizing several deep learning architectures, namely EfficientNetB3, MobileNetV2, and ResNet50, to identify the best model for waste classification. The research methodology includes data collection, preprocessing, data augmentation, model development, and performance evaluation using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The dataset, obtained from the Kaggle platform, consists of 4,650 images divided into six categories: battery, glass, metal, organic, paper, and plastic. The results show that EfficientNetB3 with the Adam optimizer achieved the best performance, with accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score all at 93%, followed by ResNet50 at approximately 91%, and MobileNetV2 ranging from 70–73% depending on the optimizer. The use of different optimizers was found to influence model performance, and data augmentation helped improve generalization, especially for classes with limited samples. Limitations of this study include the relatively limited dataset coverage. Future research is recommended to expand the dataset and explore alternative or hybrid architectures. These findings demonstrate the potential of deep learning–based systems in supporting sustainable waste management.
