Abstract

Sebelum ini pembelajaran Perencanaan Pembelajaran Biologi pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi FMIPA Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed) belum menggunakan buku ajar berbasis problematika sehingga mahasiswa belum memiliki kemampuan menganalisis masalah, mencari solusi, dan menerapkan pada penyusunan rencana pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar Perencanaan Pembelajaran Biologi berbasis problematika dan untuk menghasilkan draft buku ajar tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan lanjutan dari tahap analisis kebutuhan yang masuk kepada tahap perancangan. Data diperoleh dari tahap perancangan dan dianalisis secara kualitatif berpedoman kepada standar buku ajar secara nasional. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa cover buku telah berisi informasi lengkap, daftar isi mencerminkan cakupan isi buku ajar yang diharapkan yang sudah melingkupi tujuan pembelajaran secara komprehensif, isi buku memiliki keluasan dan kedalaman yang sesuai dengan problematika penggunaan aplikasi teknologi terkini yang selanjutnya dilakukan tahap pengembangan untuk melihat kalayakan buku ajar ditinjau dari para ahli bahasa, ahli perencanaan, dan ahli teknologi pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation between communication skills and basic teaching skills of biology education students as prospective biology teachers at the State University of Medan. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with correlational data analysis, with a sample of 30 students. Data collection using observation techniques. Data analysis in the form of linearity tests and Pearson product-moment correlation tests. Data on communication skills and basic teaching skills are normally distributed and have a linear correlation. However, after the correlation test was carried out, the significance. (2-tailed) The value was obtained between communication skills and basic teaching skills of 0.063> 0.05, which means that there is no significant correlation between communication skills and basic teaching skills. Meanwhile, based on the calculated r (Pearson Correlation) of 0.344, the strength of the correlation is that there is a low correlation between communication skills and basic teaching skills. So it can be concluded that communication skills and basic teaching skills have a low correlation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the make-a-match learning model assisted by animation media on students' high-level thinking abilities on the human respiratory system material. This research was conducted from October 2023 to June 2024 at SMAN 18 Medan using a quasi-experimental method with a two group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The experimental class XI MIA2 has 35 students and the control class XI MIA3 has 36 students. The research instrument used was the HOTs test in the form of multiple choices. The results showed that the average score for the experimental class was 82.40, while the average score for the control class was 69.33. Students who were taught using the make-a-match model assisted by animation media had higher average scores compared to students who were taught using the direct instruction learning model. Hypothesis testing with t-test statistics shows a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. This shows that the make-a-match learning model assisted by animation media has a significant effect on students' HOTs in the human respiratory system material at SMAN 18 Medan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the pedagogical literacy skills of biology education students after studying lecture material from textbooks on biology teaching and learning strategies that have been developed based on the ADDIE model. This development research used 92 students of the Biology Education Study Program, FMIPA, State University of Medan as subjects, who were determined by random sampling technique. Pedagogic literacy is measured using an essay test to determine the ability of prospective teacher students according to developments in technology and communication. The data were analyzed by percentage technique. The results of the study found that students' pedagogic literacy abilities in preparing themselves for e-learning were included in the good category (82.45%), the use of digital learning in the very good category (91.84%), the learning components involved in online learning is included in the very good category (92.67%), and the use of authentic assessment is included in the good category (84.78%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman siswa SMA dalam memaknai faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat belajar Biologi, baik dari aspek internal maupun eksternal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologis, yang berfokus pada pemahaman makna subjektif dari pengalaman belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan, yang dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan variasi tingkat minat belajar. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal seperti motivasi, rasa ingin tahu, kepercayaan diri, dan kemampuan memahami materi menjadi penentu utama dalam membangun minat belajar Biologi. Sementara itu, faktor eksternal yang paling berpengaruh adalah peran guru, terutama dalam hal metode, sikap, dan kemampuan mengaitkan materi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dukungan keluarga, lingkungan belajar, serta fasilitas sekolah turut memberi pengaruh, meskipun tidak selalu dirasakan secara langsung oleh seluruh siswa. Interaksi antara faktor internal dan eksternal dimaknai siswa sebagai hubungan yang saling melengkapi dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang menarik dan bermakna. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa minat belajar Biologi terbentuk melalui sinergi antara dorongan individu dan dukungan lingkungan belajar. Guru memiliki peran sentral dalam menumbuhkan minat tersebut melalui strategi pembelajaran yang kontekstual, interaktif, dan berorientasi pada pengalaman nyata siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman siswa dalam menggunakan media digital interaktif pada pembelajaran Biologi di SMAI An-Nizam Medan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X, XI, dan XII serta guru Biologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap proses pembelajaran menggunakan media digital interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media digital interaktif memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap minat, motivasi, dan pemahaman siswa. Media seperti animasi, simulasi, dan video pembelajaran membantu siswa memahami konsep Biologi yang abstrak menjadi lebih konkret dan menarik. Fitur interaktif juga meningkatkan antusiasme siswa melalui elemen gamifikasi seperti poin dan leaderboard. Selain itu, media digital mendorong kemandirian belajar karena siswa dapat mengakses materi kapan pun dan di mana pun. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan beberapa kendala, seperti keterbatasan perangkat, jaringan internet yang tidak stabil, serta perbedaan kemampuan digital antar siswa. Secara keseluruhan, media digital interaktif terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang aktif, menyenangkan, dan bermakna, meskipun masih diperlukan peningkatan infrastruktur dan pelatihan bagi guru agar penggunaannya lebih optimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sikap peduli lingkungan siswa pada materi perubahan lingkungan di SMA Negeri 1 Pangururan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas X yang terdiri dari 288 siswa, dan sampel yang diambil secara simple random sampling sebanyak 71 siswa dari kelas X E 7 dan X E 8. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara dengan guru biologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap peduli lingkungan siswa berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase rata-rata 81,99%. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kurangnya aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran adalah kesulitan dalam bekerja sama menjaga kebersihan lingkungan serta kurangnya minat terhadap materi perubahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menyarankan penggunaan model pembelajaran problem-based learning dan meningkatkan keaktifan siswa untuk memecahkan masalah lingkungan. Guru dan sekolah diharapkan dapat merancang pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dalam mendukung sikap peduli lingkungan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science-based learning resource on the diversity of macroscopic fungi that can enhance the critical thinking skills of students in the Biology Education Program at FMIPA UNIMED. The research method used is development research employing the ADDIE model, which consists of five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validation results from subject matter experts, instructional design experts, and layout design experts indicate that the developed textbook is highly suitable for use, with an average rating of 94.2%. The trial in the experimental class shows a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with the average post-test score rising from 70.50 to 92.10. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed textbook is effective in improving students' understanding and critical thinking skills.  Keywords: Critical Thinking, Science-Based Textbook, Diversity of Fungi, Development Research, ADDIE Model

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' High Order Thinking Skills (HOTs) in high school biology by developing a case-based biology textbook. The research method used is the ADDIE development model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection involved feasibility testing, practicality testing, and effectiveness testing. The results showed that the case-based biology textbook obtained a feasibility score of 95.8%, a practicality score of 95.5%, and an effectiveness score with an n-gain of 0.46 (moderate category). In conclusion, the developed case-based biology textbook is considered feasible, practical, and effective in enhancing high school students' HOTs.  Keywords: ADDIE, Textbook, HOTs, Case, Senior High School

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a STEM-based Bioentrepreneur Pocket Book that meets practicality criteria for use in learning activities for Biology students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Medan, and to examine students’ entrepreneurial interest and critical thinking skills after its implementation. The research method employed was development research using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results indicate that the STEM-based Bioentrepreneur Pocket Book was validated by experts. The developed pocket book was proven to be practical and effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. Furthermore, the STEM-based Bioentrepreneur Pocket Book had a positive and significant impact on students’ entrepreneurial interest and was effective in enhancing their critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the STEM-based Bioentrepreneur Pocket Book is feasible to be used as instructional material to support learning and the development of students’ 21st-century skills.
