Abstract

Education is one of the crucial aspects in human life as it can elevate the dignity of individuals. Furthermore, education plays a pivotal role in shaping individuals into virtuous beings. The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of social behavior on students' academic achievement in Islamic Education (PAI) and Character Education at Pekiringan Elementary School in the city of Cirebon. This research falls under the category of quantitative research. The population consists of 30 students from grades 4-6 at Pekiringan Elementary School in the city of Cirebon. The sampling technique employed is exhaustive sampling, where the entire population is taken as the sample. Therefore, the total sample size for this study is 30 students. The data analysis technique used is hypothesis testing through the Spearman rank correlation test. The research findings indicate that social behavior influences students' academic achievement in the subjects of PAI and Character Education at Pekiringan Elementary School in the city of Cirebon.

Abstract

In facing the impact of digitalization, it is necessary to control the use of technology. This can be seen from the many cases of gender violence in adolescents. This study aims to investigate the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in dealing with online gender-based violence among adolescents in Cirebon. Through a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research focuses on adolescents' understanding, perception, and experience of PAI teaching related to the phenomenon of gender violence in the digital realm. In-depth interviews with adolescents, PAI teachers, and related individuals were conducted to explore how the religious values taught in PAI affect adolescents' attitudes, behaviors, and thoughts towards online gender-based violence. The data analysis carried out includes data reduction, data presentation, and making conclusions. The results of this study are the importance of the role of PAI in shaping the moral and ethical awareness of adolescents against online gender-based violence. Understanding religious values in this context encourages more responsible online behavior and reduces the risk of engaging in gender violence. The implications of this study can be the basis for the development of more effective educational strategies in preventing and tackling online gender-based violence among adolescents.

Abstract

Bahasa adalah alat komunikasi untuk menyampaikan maksud atau tujuan dalam hal ini kemajuan bangsa mungkin sangat penting dalam memimpin perkembangan yang lainnya khususnya untuk anak-anak usia dini yang memang masih perlu dilatih. Dalam penelitian ini bertujuan agar mengetahui media story telling ini dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan bahasa khusunya pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yaitu dengan mengumpulkan analisis data dan fakta lapangan dengan mewawancarai narasumber yang melibatkan guru taman kanak-kanak. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwasannya media story telling dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan bahasa pada anak usia dini, namun tidak luput dari kreatifitas guru itu sendiri dalam penyampaian pembelajaran dalam media ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh strategi ice breaking terhadap motivasi belajar bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas VII di MTs Darul Hikam Kota Cirebon. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Racangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan desain Intact–Group Comparison. Dengan menggunakan desain eksperimental, penelitian ini mengungkapkan dampak signifikan dari strategi ice breaking terhadap motivasi siswa, sebagaimana terlihat dari hasil uji-t independent samples (Sig = 0,000). Penolakan hipotesis nol (H0) demi hipotesis alternatif (H1) menegaskan perbedaan substansial dalam motivasi antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini menekankan peningkatan motivasi yang dipermudah oleh sifat menghibur dan merangsang dari pendekatan ice breaking sepanjang proses pembelajaran. Melampaui konteks langsung instruksi bahasa Arab, korelasi ini menunjukkan potensi strategi tersebut sebagai alat pedagogis yang dapat diterapkan lintas disiplin dan tingkat pendidikan. Implikasi dari penelitian kami melampaui konteks langsung pembelajaran bahasa Arab di MTs Darul Hikam. Korelasi positif antara strategi ice breaking dan motivasi siswa menunjukkan potensinya sebagai alat pedagogis yang dapat diterapkan secara luas. Pendidik lintas disiplin dan tingkat pendidikan dapat memanfaatkan temuan ini untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih menarik dan memotivasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini mendorong penelitian masa depan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak yang rumit dari strategi ice breaking terhadap motivasi dalam konteks linguistik dan budaya yang berbeda, berkontribusi pada diskursus terkini mengenai praktik pembelajaran bahasa yang efektif.

Abstract

The social constructivist approach is a learning paradigm that emphasizes the role of social interaction in building students' knowledge and understanding. This approach highlights the importance of collaboration, dialogue and joint activities between teachers and students, as well as between students, as a way to build knowledge together. In social constructivist learning, knowledge is not only viewed as information conveyed by the teacher, but as the result of a joint construction process through social interaction. Social constructivist learning promotes active and participatory learning, where students not only receive information but are also involved in constructing their own understanding through discussions, questions and answers, and group activities. Teachers act as learning facilitators who encourage students to think critically, stimulate the exchange of ideas, and construct knowledge together. The importance of the social constructivist approach lies in its ability to build deep understanding, increase student engagement, and develop social and cognitive skills. By placing an emphasis on social interaction, this approach creates a learning environment that supports students' cognitive growth and social development. Therefore, the implementation of social constructivism in an educational context can increase the effectiveness of learning and prepare students to face future challenges.

Abstract

In an educational environment, encountering difficulties and challenges is natural. Someone who is able to adapt and overcome these difficulties and challenges means that he has academic resilience abilities. Academic resilience can be increased by using self-regulation abilities. This study aims to determine: (1) students' academic resilience abilities; (2) students' self-regulation abilities; (3) The efforts of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon students in increasing academic resilience through strengthening their self-regulation abilities. This study uses a qualitative method. The data collection technique used in this research is using interviews. The results of this study reveal that the majority of students have a fairly high level of academic resilience. They say that they will fight the panic and fear of the difficulties and failures that come their way. Even when faced with difficult assignments, they feel challenged and motivated.

Abstract

Patriarchal narratives in Indonesian educational and religious texts continue to reproduce gender inequality, making critical literacy an urgent pedagogical approach. This study aims to examine how the works of Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir contribute to promoting gender justice in language education through critical literacy practices. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research involved interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis with language teachers and education students in Cirebon who engaged with Faqihuddin’s writings and mubadalah framework. The findings reveal that teachers and students developed greater awareness of gender bias in texts and adopted reflective reading strategies to internalize ethical values such as justice and reciprocity. Teachers began to integrate inclusive language and encourage rewriting exercises from female perspectives, which positioned students as agents of social change. Furthermore, educators started to redefine their professional roles from mere linguistic instructors to facilitators of social justice. These results demonstrate the transformative potential of gender-just critical literacy pedagogy in both Islamic and multilingual educational contexts. This study concludes that integrating gender-conscious texts and reflective practices can enrich language classrooms, advance gender equality, and offer a progressive Islamic contribution to global critical literacy discourse.

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca teks Arab (qiroah) merupakan keterampilan dasar yang penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di madrasah. Namun, dalam praktiknya masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca dan memahami teks Arab secara utuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: 1) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran qiroah pada siswa kelas 7 di MTs Negeri 1 Cirebon. 2) Faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca teks Arab. 3) Dampak yang muncul akibat kesulitan membaca terhadap proses belajar siswa. 4) Upaya yang dilakukan guru dan lingkungan sekolah dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca teks Arab pada siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif Studi Kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh temuan bahwa: 1) Pembelajaran qiroah telah berjalan cukup baik dengan penggunaan berbagai metode dan media seperti buku Iqro’, buku ajar Bahasa Arab, serta media digital. 2) Kesulitan membaca teks Arab disebabkan oleh kurangnya kebiasaan mengaji sejak pendidikan dasar, rendahnya motivasi belajar, rasa malu dan kurang percaya diri, serta minimnya dukungan keluarga. 3) Dampak dari kesulitan membaca di antaranya rendahnya kepercayaan diri, kurangnya partisipasi aktif dalam kelas, serta lemahnya kemampuan memahami makna teks. 4) Upaya yang dilakukan guru untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut meliputi bimbingan personal, pemberian tugas mengaji, dan penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan membaca teks Arab perlu dilakukan melalui pendekatan yang komprehensif yang melibatkan peran guru, siswa, dan keluarga dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Broken Home among elementary school students is a social and psychological problem that impacts learning motivation, emotional stability, character, and academic achievement. This study aims to analyze the relationship between incomplete family conditions and learning motivation, as well as the role of resilience, social support, and the school environment in maintaining children's academic achievement. This study aims to analyze 1) students' cognitive condition and learning motivation, 2) factors that affect cognitive resilience, 3) the role of PAI in supporting learning motivation 4) strategies based on Islamic values to strengthen students' cognitive resilience and learning motivation at MI Al Ikhlas Ancaran. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of Broken Home family students, PAI teachers, and homeroom teachers. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing by paying attention to validity through triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study show that 1) students with a Broken Home background  generally have a relatively good level of cognitive resilience, so they are able to adapt to academic challenges, 2) students show quite effective abilities in managing emotional stress that arise due to various environmental and family factors, 3) the level of student learning motivation is in the medium to good category, which reflects the internal drive to continue to excel Even though they face an incomplete family condition. 4) Islamic values-based strategies are effective in strengthening cognitive resilience and learning motivation. Other findings show a positive relationship between cognitive resilience and learning motivation where the higher the resilience students have, the stronger their motivation to learn. The home environment, madrasah and peer relationships are one of the supporting factors in Shiwa's cognitive resilience in increasing learning motivation. The results of the study stated that students affected by Broken Home families can maintain learning motivation if they have strong cognitive resilience and receive support from a conducive school environment.

Abstract

This article examines Sundanese tafsīr as lived religion by analyzing Tafsir Ayat Suci Lenyepaneun by Moh. E. Hasim as a form of vernacular Qur’anic exegesis that operates as multicultural Islamic education within a plural urban society. The study aims to demonstrate that locally grounded tafsīr functions not only as a textual interpretation of the Qur’an but also as a pedagogical practice through which Islamic values are taught, experienced, and internalized in everyday social life. The study employs a qualitative descriptive design that integrates phenomenological and hermeneutic approaches. Data were collected through textual analysis of Tafsir Ayat Suci Lenyepaneun, participant observation of tafsīr study circles, and in-depth interviews with Muslim religious leaders, congregants, and non-Muslim residents in an urban neighborhood of Bandung. The data were analyzed thematically to trace how Qur’anic interpretations are articulated, transmitted, and internalized as lived ethical practices. The findings reveal three main patterns. First, the use of the Sundanese language enables Qur’anic messages to operate simultaneously at cognitive and affective levels, facilitating deep internalization of values such as justice, empathy, and respect for difference. Second, tafsīr functions as an oral and contextual pedagogy, in which key verses are conveyed through narratives and social illustrations that cultivate inclusive religious ethics and emotional self-restraint. Third, the internalization of tafsīr-based values produces cross-communal effects, reflected in harmonious interreligious relations and non-Muslim residents’ perceptions of safety and social cohesion. These findings imply that vernacular Qur’anic tafsīr can serve as an effective community-based model of multicultural Islamic education beyond formal educational institutions, contributing to social harmony in plural urban societies. The originality of this study lies in its empirical demonstration of how local tafsīr operates as lived religion and in positioning vernacular exegesis as a transformative pedagogical resource within the field of religious studies.
